Lots of masterpieces to enjoy, mostly paintings and also some statues. Clear explanations both in French and English at each section. You gotta take advantage of the free entrance! Not to miss! Also there are very kind and helpful staff. It is not too busy in winter time.

Most visitors to Paris miss this wonderful museum. To start, from the plaza there is an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower. Enter on the opposite side of the tower view, there's rarely a wait. The three-storey mural by Raoul Dufy celebrating the history of electricity (probably 90% of visitors don't catch this theme) is wonderful. Sit down on the stools and set a spell to rake it all in. The dance murals by Matisse, that were originally intended for the Barnes House in Philadelphia are very interesting. Matisse errored in the measurements hence he create two sets of these. The permanent collection, now with the addition of the donation by the Josef and Anni Albers family, is strong in the 1910 to 1940 period. AND, there are always new special exhibitions - expand your horizons a bit. The museum is open, spacious and easy to navigate.

In the museum there is permanent collection of paintings and statues of famous art-moderne French and world wide artists and also temporary exhibitions of modern artists like Nicholas de Staël that I was delighted to visit and see. Musée d'Art Moderne is a must see if you're in Paris.

I visited the MAM for the Nicolas de Staël exhibition. This is an overlooked museum with quite a lot of interesting things to discover. While the permanent de Staël was outstanding the permanent collection is noteworthy as well. The grand Matisse hall and the rest of the 20th century classics are worth your time. Can get very busy during weekends for its current exhibitions.

A great deal of exhibitions, a lot of art to enjoy. They had a cloakroom and toilets at every floor. The entry was free.

Excellent special exhibits that are often just too packed to view calmly - best to get early morning tickets or nocturne Thursday nights - wonderful permanent collection. Interesting building.

Amazing museum containing Picasso, Matisse and other great masters. Plan on 2+ hours to dedicate to see these impressive works. The building itself is quite impressive and used by modeling agencies.

Such a great museum. I’ve been to Dana Schutz exhibition. The representation is great. I was very satisfied by English translation (as for example in d’Orsay museum there is none). Also, the light was perfectly aligned.

A world class art experience! Entry is free most days (for the permanent collections that includes many notable works by foundational artists in many different modern movements from cubism to surrealism to avant garde). The descriptions of the art are clear and many are in both French and English. Even though the majority of the works are not to my personal taste it is definitely a rich and significant cultural experience that I recommend everyone take at least an hour of their life to go and explore.

Definitely worth the visit! It's not super busy and it's a nice, relaxing time. Without rushing, you can see everything in about an hour and a half. I wasn't crazy about the more contemporary exhibits, but they have a lovely collection of modern art even if larger museums have most of the heavy hitters. The garden was closed for construction this summer, but it looks like it is going to be beautiful.

Interesting space, less brute than the sister museum Palais de Tokyo. Their permanent collection is very very good, and on top of that entrance is free. Add to that nice/discrete staff. Totally worth visiting.

Beautiful Nicolas de Staël exhibition, to discover his short life time art journey. Spacious rooms, good selection of his art work, not overwhelming.

One of my favorite museums! I recommend this absolutely! Discovered Charlotte Rampling’s exposition this year! Amazing! Monsieur Bleu restaurant is great too. The Matisse rooms are AWEsome!!! Love the skaterboy vibe outside the museum too!

While not one of the greatest museums of Paris, it is very much worth seeing for its fine collection of modern art. And it's free!

I enjoyed my time here, the place was not crowded and I could enjoy the artworks without a busy crowd 💯 Free to enter, except for the exhibit. You can buy a ticket ahead as well in Get Your Guide if you wanna visit an exhibit.

Went to the Dana Schutz exhibition, surprisingly not one person asked to see my ticket! Sensational show, somewhat confusing building and a stunning view onto the Eiffel Tower.

The museum of modern art has an exceptional collection of 15.000 works of art. Some of the most iconic paintings by Delaunay, Matisse, Modigliani, Leger, Dufy, and more .
Beautifully displayed, it covers the period from the beginning of theXX th century to our the present time .
After enjoying the visit we went for lunch to M Bleu, the food was delicious, creative and original. And the place is one of the most pleasant in the city, on the river and in front of the Eiffel tower .

I went there on a rainy day and it was really late so I didn't have the time to check everything out. But the spirit of electricity exhibition was amazing. they had an interactive guide which went through all the different elements of this massive work of art. It's (allegedly) the biggest painting in the world, only the paint used is half a ton! Would recommend a visit for the whole family.

Really enjoyed my time at the modern art museum. The entry is free for the permanent expositions then access to temporary expositions require a ticket. I did buy a ticket for these but still needed a good 1.5-2h to view all the permanent expositions. It's very well presented and there is great variety of styles. The museum is just across from the Alma Bridge where you can get on the Bateaux Mouches to cruise the River Seine.
