A must visit place in Lille, really nice pastry with excellent Moelleux. Price is actually very reasonable and high quality, and far better than those pastry in Paris. Highly recommended.

This beautiful and historic tea and cake shop should be on your must see list when visiting Lille. The staff are lovely and the cakes are unbelievably fabulous.

Beautiful store, next time I’m definitely eating in. It looks stunning!! All the cakes look delicious but I settled on a Mille-feuille which was fresh, creamy and not too sweet.

If you come to Lille, it is worth giving yourself a brunch here. Besides being a real institution in the city, everything is taken care of in detail.
From its quality food to its attentive and friendly employees.

The place is beautiful and we really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Everything is exquisite and cakes, as expected, were delicious.

Whether it’s eating, having a waffle or just stopping by to see the place and smell their teas, I highly recommend it!

Got in on a Saturday morning with no reservation. The place fills up quickly though. A little pricey but not crazy expensive. The cakes and coffee were good. Also had the famous waffle which was surprisingly yummy.

One of the best hot chocolates and cappuccino, we had on our trip.
Wonderful interiors and a good instagramable place.
Their pastries are highly recommended and one should not miss at all.
Pricing, a bit on higher side

A local institution began in 1607 in the heart of Old Town Lille. A bakery-pastry shop in 1677, it was taken over by confectioner and chocolatier Mr. Delcourt. I didn't manage to book a table for afternoon tea, but I did buy the specialty waffle and a box of chocolate instead. His Majesty King Leopold I's favorite waffles is the trademark product of Maison Meert.

I am giving this establishment a 5 stars because it’s an icon location in Lille and the staff is extremely helpful and nice. However the pastries are not worth the price tag, in my opinion. Sorry!
I am si happy we tried it.
The name Meert, the beautiful store, the History behind it is what I was willing to pay for. I bought a small 4 persons cake, The Entremet Rose d’ Octobre in support of breast cancer awareness. It’s beauty made my taste buds sparkle at the idea of fresh raspberries, lemon, Madagascar vanilla and lady fingers…it was good but maybe not worth the 30 Euros I paid for. Just my opinion.
To conclude, go and enjoy… we only live once! It’s about the memories. 💕

A must-see & must-enjoy location for anyone fond of living history and tasty sweets. Well-renovated and authentic decor, lovely atmosphere and delicious desserts for a reasonable price (special mention to the cakes while the traditional waffles are more pricey but a tasty souvenir, always). It sets the standard extremely high for all other French pastry shops~

If you are planning to visit Lille, you should definitely add Pâtisserie Méert to your must go list. It's located in a very beautiful and historical building. The desserts we had were very delicious. The woman who welcomes the guests was very friendly.

I would expect more 5 star reviews from an establishment that was founded in 1761

A restaurant that is forbidden to visit... diabetics. It is no coincidence that the French prime minister prefers it. A feast of sweets that will not leave you indifferent. There is a kiosk outside that sells ice cream. The interior impresses you. You have to see that.

Big venues with nice classis French decorations. Long lines but service is very fast. Have different kinds of sweets. They are specialists in their famous biscuit which is alomst like a thin waffle. Nice experience with good taste. Worth the visit when you are aound.

A historic place to enjoy afternoon tea. Excellent desserts and variety of drinks.
Need to book in advance!
The only thing is that due to popularity we couldn’t stay long

We went middle of the afternoon for a break. On Saturday you definitely need to book in advance the place was crowded and they were not accepting walk ins. We chose two of their signature cakes the “impériale” which is a mix up f soft caramel and chocolate and the “merveilleux noir” which grad a caramel base roped with a meringue and a chocolate dome. The cakes were amazing definitely recommend the place.
