It’s a major pain to buy tickets in person and wait in the entry line. Both lines are incredibly long and take hours, even in old, windy, rainy weather in late October…and while normally I’d NEVER wait in a line that long for anything, this was worth it.

It’s also a madhouse, super crowded and will peeve you, but my god I’ve never seen anything like this palace. It’s insane. Epic, grand, ornate, doesn’t do it justice. Feels like a wonder of the world.

It’s worth a day trip if you want to explore the gardens. I walked over 5mi and didn’t even make a dent in the gardens, so I’d plan to arrive early and bring good walking shoes.

Also an umbrella! Whether raining like it was on me or sunny, the line is so long you’ll want to have something with you to protect against the elements.

The palace is so intricate and luxurious it’s hard to wrap your mind around and it certainly makes you understand why the French had a revolution. It’s astonishing and will leave you speechless, angry, and amazed. A very memorable sight to see and a highlight of the trip.

The Palace of Versailles is one of the most beautiful places in the world, I visited it a couple of years ago with my mother and we booked it 6 weeks early.

We also selected the package of visiting the personal chambers of the king, so a lot of my pictures are from there.

If you intend to visit, I strongly suggest you check their website first and book your tickets in advance. The tour guide might not know good English, so be sure to use any audio guide that may be available.

Finally if you have time, try to visit the gardens, which are exciting! We didn’t go this time because our schedule was tight, but be sure to do so! You can also buy food from inside the palace or bring your own, it’s up to you!

What an amazing experience! Only a quick train ride away from a metro station if staying near the Eiffel Tower. This is definitely a site that cannot be missed. I do recommend going with a tour group so you know where to spend more time in certain rooms along the way. The palace is very large and you will want to explore all of the rooms in addition to the grounds as well!

Such a beautiful place to visit. Definitely one of the most amazing palaces I've visited in the world. If you love history you'd definitely love this place! It was very busy, but we went during a very busy time of tve year so that was expected. The gardens are gorgeous and you can easily spend a few hours in this Palace. I'd highly recommend 🏰👌❤

I would reccomending booking your tickets in advance and go early on in the day to beat the crowds, it's definitely worth it. The Palace and grounds are extensive and you can easily spend the whole day there. We caught the train here from Paris and it was easily one of the highlights of our visit to France, a definite must-visit! Absolutely stunning and lots to see whilst you are there. The ticket also allows access to other buildings in the grounds, which are not to be missed.

You will love it if you love history! I literally saw my History textbooks come to life. The hall of mirrors is iconic

The place is beautiful and definitely recommend a tour of the gardens and the estate of Trianon. Try taking the guided tour headset.

The entry is free for students which is something I love about the city and its monuments. It goes an extra miles to give the best student discounts and allows for curious students like myself to learn more.

Beautiful palace, but it gets very crowded, making it difficult to walk inside. It's hard to take nice pictures with so many people. It's totally worth it to get the garden pass; we probably spent most of our time in the garden, which is beautiful and not that busy. It's a long walk, so I recommend bringing a lot of water and wearing comfortable shoes.

It is one of the most historical tourist destinations. The palace features exquisite decorations and interiors, both outside and inside. The historical information provided with the audio guide enhances the experience.

The garden offers an electric vehicle service for convenient transportation within its vast grounds. Given the garden's size, renting an electric car is a wise choice to avoid long walks.

On weekends, there's a captivating fountain show. I highly recommend using an audio guide during your visit. It offers fascinating insights into the rich history of the place.

Reserving tickets in advance, preferably the day before your visit, is advisable. Visiting without a reservation can lead to lengthy waits, and you might miss the opportunity to explore the palace's interior.

It's an incredibly captivating place, and I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Great historical landmark. Definitely book tickets online. Notice poor mobile phone network coverage due to high density of tourists - your Internet and Google maps may not recover before you are leaving Versailles rail station.

It is one of the tourist destinations with the best history.
It is a very large place. 5-6 hours were spent touring both the palace and the gardens. The palace boasts very nice decorations and interiors both outside and inside, and the historical information provided with the audio guide was also very nice.

The garden offers an electric vehicle service that can be used within the garden. Since the garden is quite large, renting an electric car is a good option if you do not want to experience the inconvenience of walking.

And on weekends you can see a fountain show.
I highly recommend that anyone visiting this place use an audio guide. You can hear stories about some very cool history.
It is also recommended to reserve tickets in advance the day before your visit. If you visit without reserving tickets, you will have to wait for a very long time, and if you are unlucky, you may not be able to see the inside of the palace.

It's such a cool place.
I would like to visit again next time.

Spectacular mini day trip from Paris. My family and I spent about 5 hours here and it was really fun. The inside of the palace is huge with art and history in every room. The gardens outside were also great. They rent golf carts for people who want to see everything quicker outside. There is a small cafe / restaurant inside and many toilets. Wonderful experience and the tour guides are also funny and knowledgeable.

Stunning Palace, free to walk around the gardens, but tickets needed to go in the Palace.
Can be busy at times. Gardens are large and beautiful, well cared for.
Very open and planets of space. We did the ticket that included breakfast and speedy entry well worth it.

I went there during December. It was quite windy and weird tiny mist everywhere. Anyway the worst weather won’t change the impressiveness of the castle itself. It full of gorgeous paintings everywhere, countless sculptures and decorative. The parking is crazy expensive. The garden was depressing since they cover most of sculpture and the garden is sleeping during winter. You should visit many times because on the sunny day it totally changes the atmosphere.

A beautiful castle, I think the paintings on the wall are comparable or even better than the Vatican!!!! The gardens are simply spectacular. You might need at least 4 to 6 hours if you want to see the gardens, I also suggest to rent a cart without which it is almost impossible to walk around. A guided tour would be good if you like to know the history, but I was bored after the first 15 minutes of the guided tour. A must visit destination for art lovers and people who like the beautiful gardens. There are restrooms at -1 level so be prepared to climb down without the lift or elevator. Good gift shops and a restaurant serves a small variety of food items.

The whole visits take approximately one day. At least 2 hours are spent inside the palace. A good 2-3 hours could be spent wandering around the immense gardens. A solid 2 hours are necessary for visiting Trianon. The ticket for the full tour is 24€ (free if you are below 26). I consider this the best option. Note that part of the gardens can be visited for free (not the palaces). For visiting the gardens, there are also buses which can transport your around, if you don’t feel like walking. Much recommended

The palace's vastness and splendor, nestled amidst manicured gardens and fountains, truly epitomize French royalty at its finest.
My visit began at the iconic Hall of Mirrors, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture adorned with 357 mirrors reflecting the vast chamber's grandeur.
I continued my exploration through the palace's opulent staterooms, each meticulously decorated with intricate details, gilded furnishings, and exquisite artwork.
The gardens of Versailles are an integral part of the palace experience, stretching over 1,000 acres and featuring manicured lawns, fountains, flowerbeds, and sculptures. The grandeur of the gardens is further enhanced by the harmonious use of water features, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere amidst the palace's opulence.
NOTE:
Book tickets in advance to avoid wait
Be prepared to walk a lot as the palace is huge. Would recommend wearing comfy shoes
To see the gardens they also have electric car service for people who cannot walk a lot. (40€ /hr)
They also have two restaurants. I would recommend trying G-cafe for light snacks or coffee.

One of the best palaces of the medieval Europe. Beautiful garden and the palace is full of eye-soothing paintings. The place was full of tourists and suggested to plan in advance for a two-three hours of the day. The place is 30 minutes drive away from Paris, but recommended as a must see if you are visiting Paris.

You must visit while in Paris. Just off to the West of Paris but worth the drive. Get there ahead of your ticket time as there is a queue even though you have a timed entrance. Parking is easy and right next to the entrance. Advise the audio and an am entry time if you can as we missed the gardens with a 4pm entry time not leaving us the time to visit the gardens as access is at the end on your way out. It was too dark at the time of year we visited by the time we had walked through all the rooms of this magnificent palace. Leave plenty of time for pictures in the main courtyard.

Ultimately luxurious, the opulent interior and lifestyle are is evident. Worth the trip to see. Made even prettier on our visit with fresh snow fall.
I can see why the people rebelled against the French royals as it’s ridiculously over the top.

Visiting the grounds of Versailles was a dream come true. I ordered my ticket a week ahead of my planned visit and went on a Friday. I recommend going as early as possible. I noticed it got very busy around mid morning and fortunately I was able to take pictures of the courtyard without too many people bombing pics. The palace is huge with so many rooms and so much history to take in. I managed to book a guided tour of the kings private rooms but again I highly recommend purchasing tickets days in advance. Also, get ready for miles of walking. Wear comfortable shoes and please be mindful that everyone is taking photos so please remember public etiquette.
