This place is a must-visit pitspot 🚏 on your next trip to Finland! 🇫🇮 The Aurora Hunting Olkkajarvi is a public reserve 🏞 and parking lot 🅿 next to a large (sometimes frozen 🧊) lake 🌊 from with you can potentially see the Northern 🧭 Lights as this place is far enough from the city 🌆 as to avoid 💡 pollution. This spot has a few large public tents 🎪 already set where you can light a fire 🔥 - remember to bring some chopped 🪓 wood! 🪵 It's accessible by both car 🚘 and bus! 🚍 I wish the northern lights were visible more often here!

Nice place to wait for aurora. It is much better than waiting in Rovaniemi, if you have a car, of course. There were like 20 cars standing here waiting for aurora at night in january. Also has some huts where you can set up a fire. So bring your firewood.

Für blutige Anfänger wie mich, ein Superspot. Mir sind ein paar (für mich) schöne Aufnahmen gelungen. Erster Versuch mit Smartphone (OnePlus 8Pro) und kleinem Stativ bei ISO 3200, Fokus auf unendlich und 10 Sekunden Belichtungszeit.

Es braucht Geduld, warme Kleidung (oder ein Auto mit Standheizung) ggf. eine App (Habe die App Polarlicht-Vorhersage genutzt) und dann noch eine Portion Glück.

Ottima sosta in camper proprio in riva al lago, attrezzato per fare un falò in compagnia e attendere verso mezzanotte l'arrivo dell'aurora. Uno spettacolo della natura che non ha prezzo.

Traumhaft. Zwei Abende bei klarem Himmel hier gewesen und beidesmal die Polarlichter bewundern dürfen (laut App lag die Wahrscheinlichkeit bei 35%).
