Rovaniemi City Library

Large library with long opening hours right in the city center. The building is unique. The collection of books is huge. There are plenty of seats. The WLAN is free of charge. Free lockers are available for luggage. The team on site is very friendly.

As a tourist, I totally recommend stopping for a quick tour inside the library! Designed by Alvar Aalto, it is an important architectural masterpiece in Rovaniemi.
We really appreciated that they curated a self-guided tour with a fun quiz! We learned a lot and really enjoyed our time there :-)

Perfect library with great selection of books, CD, magazines, great customer service, located in beautiful building with lot of space for different interests.
Today there was a nice musical program with Christmas opening.

What a beautiful place to read, study or just relax. Great recessed reading areas with power points under the tables (though not enough for every seat, so check carefully). Free Wi-Fi - the password is on sheets of paper on the desks. Free clean toilets in the building.

A whole separate room of its own for Lapland literature, so if you ever needed a section for reindeer care, this is the place ;)

Lovely place, really nice architecture.

If you somehow end up here on top of the world and need a quiet spot to do some work, this is a great option. Super friendly and helpful staff.

The best library in Lapland. Period.

Cozy and spacious.

Son ainiaan ollu minun yks lempikirjastoista ja ny vielä pystytimmä taidenäyttelyä Lapponica-salhin. Tärkiä paikka Rovaniemellä, yks tärkeimmistä.

Alvar Aallon suunnittelema kirjastorakennus on varsinainen helmi Rovaniemellä. Ulkopaikkakuntalaisen on ehkä hieman vaikea löytää tätä matalahkoa mutta erittäin tyylikästä rakennusta. Sisätiloissa maailmankuulun arkkitehdin kynänjälki näkyy selkeästi, ja tunnelma on valoisa ja rauhallinen. Henkilökunnalta saa lisätietoa rakennuksen historiasta.

Eräs Suomen monumentaalisia harmaabetoni kirjastoja. Lisäksi Saarenkylän ja Korkalovaaran sivukirjasto. Kaikki tarvittavat tieto- ja kaunokirjalliset osastot lapsille ja aikuisille sekä av ja musiikki sekä tietotekniikka osastot. Suhteellisen laaja varasto ja moderneimmat ja klassiset tieto- ja kaunokirjat.

Rollon pääkirjastohan on legendaarisen hyvä paikka. Toki isommissa kaupungeissa asuville ehkä pienen tuntuinen mutta ei se ole oikeesti pieni. Tulkaa kokemaan "monttu"!

Tyylikäs kirjasto. Kirjojen lisäksi paljon muutakin, lehtiä, musiikkia, taidenäyttelyt. Itsepalvelu lainaus/ palautus sujuvaa. Netissä voi omilla tunnuksilla varata aineistoa.
