Kotatieva Winter Leisure Park

Kotatieva Winter Park is a magical place. From the epic ice skating track to the mint hot chocolate at the Cafe, I could not recommend this place more. 10/10. A hidden gem that you definitely do not want to miss. Pictures don’t do it justice.

It's an incredible place. My friends and I went and we had a wonderful time. The owners and workers are very friendly. The ice rink is something magical and unique, the best I have been to so far. Ice skating to the forest is a must. The good thing is that you can also do other activities apart from ice skating. There are places where you can rest and keep warm if you want to rest for a while. There is a very cozy and very beautiful restaurant. It is also a plus that transportation is included in the entrance fee since we did not have a car. The price is really worth it, it shows that they have put a lot of effort and love into the place. It is 100% recommended if you are visiting Rovaniemi in winter, I will surely go again.

Such a great place, ice skating in the forest, sledding, snowshoes, we spent a wonderful day there. Staff is very friendly, free hot berry juice, nice cafe.

Kotatieva is a magical place with lots of activities for young and old. Sledding, ice skating, ice hockey, kick sleds and more.

The ownersX Inga and Tuomas, are wonderful people, super friendly and great to chat with.

Lovely to sit inside the Kota and cook sausages over the fire, accompanied by a cup of freshly brewed coffee. But best of all, a private sauna and hot tub experience on site!

Such a magical place, and highly recommended - can’t wait to return later this year.

Amazing experience! Though we were expecting that the skating track goes through the forest, not circle around in the beginning of it, but in general it is really worth a visit! You can also slide from the hill and visit the cafe on top with the tasty food 💙

Awesome place that feels like being far into the woods but still on a 15 minute drive from Rovaniemi. Staff is really kind, easy to fill a nice day! We had the day in Kotatieva + sauna/hot tub. The sauna is already 80 years old and is a real traditional Finnish sauna, amazing that everything you need is there (towels, drinks, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel). The hot tub is heated by a stove like the sauna and is really relaxing. For sure recommend paying this place a visit!

Kotatieva is a beautiful park with all Finnish winter activities available: skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding. This makes it the perfect place if you don't have enough time to do everything separately. We sure had a great time. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They help you to put on the equipment, give you clear instructions and think along with you. Because our train was delayed, we could not be present on the day we had booked our visit. Their response was super friendly and they offered us to get our money back or to come at another time. We chose the second. However, there were some misunderstandings about the transfer and we ended up having to take a taxi, but the staff helped us well and eventually offered to compensate us for the costs. Super helpful, friendly and sweet. We totally recommend a visit!

Very nice place. Ice skating and sleding were very nice, but the the snow hike was a bit exhausting but best thing in this trip. The view is so magical and I recommend it to everyone.
We didn't have many time for the rest of the activities but there are couple of more things to do.

Fantastic place! The ice track is really nice and not the usual ice ring. Really good slope for sledge riding and a nice cozy café. Recommended. Price is not low, ok, but perfectly in line with all the other experiences you can have here around Rovaniemi. Plus, in the price you have: transport A/R, access to everything, all the gears you need.

We had an amazing first day in Finland with Tony and his crew. They gave us such a warm welcome to this stunning place. We took part in a mix of fun activities; ice skating, sledding and snow shoeing. It was great to take a much needed rest in the tepee to have sausages and hot juice over the fire. Would highly recommend for everyone 😄

It was absolutely wonderful. The best thing we did here in Lapland.
It's just 10 minutes by car from Rovaniemi. The last 2km of the street are something magical. There is a 500m ice skating track in the middle of the forest and also a bigger ice skating ring where you can play hockey . Then there is a hill where you can have fun with sledges in the snow. You can also play bowling on ice, basketball in the snow, walk in the forest with snow shoes, drink a hot tea and eat a sausage in a warm Kota. All in a really authentic and magical place. You pay the entrance ticket and it's all included (all you need to have fun, sausage and tea as well). I recommend this place to every one. You can spend there the full day. The owners are very helpfull and nice.

This should be called Rovaniemi’s ice skating ring. As well as ice skating you can have fun with some other activities, hokey, sliding hill and all with a smile and the highest level of kidness.

They’re both beautifull people always willing to help and make you feel confortable. Seems that money here is not a point is just they obviously have to take profit abou it but seems more a way to make people feel happy and confortable in Lapland.

Had a lot of fun at Kotatievas wonderful Ice skating track through the woods and the little sledding trail. Very good alternative to the usual activities like around the area like husky, reindeer or snowmobile rides!

We had an amazing time on a sunny Saturday. Skating, sledging, snowshoeing in beautiful snowy trees. Ohh and to not forget about the soup and sausages we cooked by the fire. The owners and everybody there are really helpful and kind. Thank you!

Had a wonderful time here, the ski skating is so beautiful through the trees. There's lots to do at the park it's great for family's and couples!

Amazing experience in a magical place ! We had so much fun there. It’s a little far from Rovaniemi if you dont have a car but it really worth it 100%. It’s something you do only there and only once in your lifetime so don’t hesitate to go. You do iceskating in the middle of the finnish forest, and you can also do other activities like Ice Bowling, walking in the snow… the owners are so nice and interesting, it was a pleasure to meet them and talk with them. I like the fact that it’s a family and local business so support that instead of a multinational company! Recommanded for sure.

We spent here a lovely afternoon! We tried ice skating, ice hockey, snowshoes and sledging. Even though the sauna with the hot tub was closed, we really enjoyed everything else.

An absolutely unique experience, an absolutely wonderful and full day.
The place is on a hill is 2.5 km off the main road, we got our own taxi but the driver followed the signs from the nearest address (there is a possibility group transportation arrangement that we didn't use).

We came on a sunny day and the views were nothing short of magical -- frozen forest, view from a snowy hill, sun shining through the treetops.
We did a bit of snowshoeing too and that isn't even everything one can do at the park. Warmed up at a tepee with a fire going. Suffice to say there is no other place I know where we could have had such an experience. There was a group of other people in the park, but the track was long enough to leave space for everyone.

The hosts are amazing, and cordial.

Would travel to Finland just to do it again.

EDIT 2024: did come back several times, and we have tried the aurora skating on our last tripe, which is a unique experience in a night forest on the top of the mountain. The included dinner was delicious and the company of the hosts was great.
We came back for the day activities on another day and had fun once again. Every year so far the business has grown adding new buildings, activities, length of the track, equipment, all very imaginative, making it worth a revisit. There are a few neat souvenirs for sale including hats that were the most comfortable that we have worn in winter.

The place is magical. The staff is super friendly. The activities super fun. Thank you to everyone for making our visit a very happy one!!
