This place is a must see when you’re in Shashamane! It’s an absolute gem.
Tranquil surroundings, nature, delicious and healthy food- it’s a little paradise. We stayed in our tents but rooms and lodges are also available. There are 3 amazing ladies who always ensure that the place is super clean.
Alex and Sandrine are amazing hosts and beautiful people. They taught us a lot about the Rasta history, recommended a lot of local places to see, and made our stay truly unforgettable.

We also loved the animals- Zorro, Gabriel and Nina 🤍

This is a world reknown rasta village in Shashamane, Ethiopia. It's great for black diasporans seeking to understand their history and culture and to de-stress. Must visit while in 🇪🇹.

Zion train lodge is a really nice and quiet place to stay. you immediately feel at home. The family is really nice, welcoming. The food is good. The bedrooms are clean, pretty and comfortable. This is the perfect place to stay and have a good time!

Warm welcome after our hectic night-time arrival in shashamane. An oasis in shashamane with greenery, nice rooms, home cooked meals and good conversations with Alex, about the Rastafarian culture.

This place was such an oasis for us. We’d had a long ride and we had a very warm welcome from Sandrine and Alex. The entire property was so beautiful and well maintained. There was a lovely garden and a nice covered area to sit and chill during the day/evening. We stayed in one of the rooms (1400 w/ breakfast) but there is plenty of space for camping as well. Room was very comfortable we slept great. The bathroom is just outside the room, very clean. The shower is an outside shower with hot water and wonderful paintings inside. You look up and see banana leaves and birds. The food was some of the best food we’ve had! Sandrine was using ingredients right from the garden, it was so fresh and delicious. We learned a lot about the Rastafarian history from other locals that came by. We hope we can come back again!

Alex and Sandrine are the best hosts you can have not only in Shashamane, but in Ethiopia. Facilities are awesome, hot water, good place to camp, food is healthy and delicious, beautiful rooms and peace. Come with love and your best vibes and you will have an unforgettable experience! I stayed here for two nights and pitched my own tent here. It's a very chilled out place and the owners are kind and very helpful. Definitely recommend this place

Oase van rust in een drukke stad!
De uitbaters zijn super lieve en gastvrije mensen waar je alles aan kan vragen. De warmwater douche in buitenlucht is super fijn en als je geluk hebt waakt een grijze uil over je vanuit de boom! De uitbater gaf ons op aanvraag een yoga lesje voor het ontbijt, super leuk. Ze brachten ons van Shashemene naar Debre Zeit met hun busje op aanvraag van ons.

En plus d'un hébergement traditionnel de qualité, la charmante famille de Rastas partage avec bienveillance sa passion pour l'Ethiopie et sa culture si singulière : gastronomie locale, visite guidée de sites historiques, méditation et initiation à la culture Rastafarienne. Un voyage tout simplement incomparable !

De passage seulement à Sashamane, pour une seule nuit j ai fini par y rester plus que prévu... Super accueil et merci encore pour cette belle soiree et ce beau noel! Super chambre et super douche chaude!
