Excellent to go at 8am because it is empty. Alternatively Sunday it is packed with locals in beautiful church clothes. If you arrive at 2pm you will have toke to see everything but closes sharply at 5pm no exceptions. Be mindful in Christendom this is one of the holiest places far more Holy than many things in Rome says a Catholic!

One of the largest rock hewn church of Lalibela, in this church you will find the holy cross of King Lalibela named Afro Ayigeba

The first and largest church on the tour. There is a fantastic 7 kg solid gold cross that is rarely brought out, it was stolen once. There are also the 'graves' of the patriarchs. Abraham, Jacob and Joseph. You can ask about how you can test whether you are with sin or not.

Fantastic structure, it was the first stop in our visit to Lalibela and its gigantic walls and columns caused a memorable and possitive impression. The light is beautiful in the afternoon, making the stone change colors as the sun changes position.

Lalibela is one of a must visit place when you visiting Ethiopia. One hour flight from Addis Ababa and it can be done on 24 hours trip. Bring Guide and prepare USD 50 for the entrance fee. It's worth to visit for lifetime experience.

Surtout ne ratez pas la messe le matin à 6:00 Dans cette magnifique église qui est la principale du site. La spiritualité et les pratiques orthodoxe anciennes dominent à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur avec les pèlerins qui affluent des le petit matin et prennent le passage étroit pour l'entrée. La plus sacrée des églises étant donné qu'elle contient La Croix du roi Saint Lalibela

La iglesia más grande de Lalibela bien merece las cinco estrellas. Su interior, dividido en cinco naves, es apto para el recogimiento (si no tienes cientos de turistas al lado, claro). Es de un tamaño imponente.

Iglesia del Salvador del mundo. Tiene 18 pilares en el interior y otros 18 en el exterior.
34 metros de largo por 24 de ancho la convierten posiblemente en la iglesia monolítica más grande del mundo.
A fin de protegerla, la Unesco ha colocado un enorme toldo encima que la resta vistosidad.
Junto con la iglesia de Bet Mariam y otras 4 más forman el grupo del norte (en total son 11 iglesias, 4 al sur y por ultimo la de San George).
