Great experience with no tourists at all! So you have it all to yourself. You get a ticket both to this place and Fassil Ghebil. Gonder is a must see in Ethiopia with amazing people with great hospitality! It is also safe to be in if you just fly to Gonder from other cities

The Fasiladas Bath, where Timkat celebrations occur in Gondar, represents the Jordan River. At the Ketera marking the eve of the Timkat celebration, fifteen or more of the 44 Tabots of the Orthodox Tewahedo Church within the city flock towards the Bath from all directions. At the center of each parish church is the Tabot, the wooden slab believed to be a replica of the Ark of the Covenant. The celebration is on 19th of January. It is one of the beautiful and colourful holidays in Ethiopia. Don't Miss it.

Nice trees and historic feel especially with not many people there. Pity about recent timkat festival deaths when this temporary seating collapsed a few weeks after we visited. So sad

Fasiledes' Bathis located about 2.5 kilometers from Fasil Ghebbi in Gondar, Ethiopia. It was built during the time of emperor Fasiledes in the 17th century. The palace is thought to have been the summer retreat for the royal family. In modern day it's home to the Timket Festival, epiphany, which celebrates the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan.

Is built by the Eithiopian Emperor to spend his leisure time, it's a small palace built in center of a large swimming pool which connected to the the see through a long underground canal, that fills the pool only in one month in the year when the sea has risen.

This place is incredible. The history and architecture in this city is incredible and will blow your mind! Walking the streets of Gondar with castles all around -- even this one in an ancient and giant swimming pool -- is a magical and total "bucket list" experience. Hire a local tour guide and prepare to be amazed!

A must visit destination in Gondar, well worth the effort and pretty spectacular as well. Wonder around and take lots of photos. Best viewed with a guide who can explain the history and religious significance of what you are looking at.

Amazing place. Kinda smaller than I anticipated when I saw Epiphany celebration. One thing I note to people, be sure to visit the Fasile Gebbi, as that ticket is required to also get into this place. Beautiful!

Historical site everyone must come and visit. I was there during Timkat Festival when you could see the local people enjoyed their bath in the pool with holy water.

Unfortunately the bath is only filled once a year with water. Still a nice spot. The ticket for Fasil ghebbi is also valid for this one
