I happened to stop in here a few years ago doing the Camino de Santiago. It's unassuming and outside the touristic center of town (as well as the Camino--I was lost at the time!). Since then I've been at least once each year. Consistently the best pastel vasco I have had. It's worth the trek up the hill!

Camino del Norte. Zarautz-Deba:
Vale la pena partir en ayunas de Zarautz y desayunar en Getaria (pequeño, pero un pueblo muy muy bonito). Panadería de 5 estrellas, tostadas saladas y dulces con productos que destacan, pan recién hecho, bollería, zumo recién exprimido... Interior espacioso con mesas y baño.
