Albergue y Pensión San Marcos

Albergue San Marcos was just perfect for pilgrims. Staffs were very kind and nice. My friend and I stayed in a double room (actually there were two single beds and a bunk bed so 4 people could sleep) and it was spotless clean. Restaurants and a market were near by.

One of the cleanest facilities on the Camino. Friendly staff and the albergue was very comfortable all around. Conveniently located close to dining and all kinds of different merchants from groceries, restaurants, and bakeries.

Very modern and clean place. Stayed in a 6 birth room with a big window and locker for our stuff. Showers are toilets were clean, ample washing and drying facilities and many outdoor tables and chairs for an evening chill out! Staff Carlos and Maria were very helpful and booked our next stay for us. Would happily stay there again!

Amazing! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The facilities are huge and offer pretty much everything to accommodate to the pilgrims needs. Rooms are new and spacious. Shower was amazing. Loved it.

My go-to hostel when in Palas de Rei

Even though we arrived early, they allowed us to drop our stuff and hang out on ground floor til they opened at 1 pm. The rooms are great, fresh linens, nice smelling place.

I have been taking a group to do El Camino every year for the past 5 years and we have taken our groups to stay at this Hostel each year. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious, and it is easily accessible from the route and it is central to the town (it is next to the main road and next door to the church.) We really enjoy the fact we are able to use the kitchenette, which is shared with all guests and travelers, so we do not always have to be eating out and get to enjoy a homemade meal. I cannot recommend this place enough, especially for pilgrims of El Camino!

Since the bunk beds were full we took a sepatate room. It was clean and nice. Althou the electrical plugs were only near the door, some additional plugs near beds would be a nice add-on ;)

Nice place at begining of Palas de Rey. Albergue look clean and new. Beds are quiet and comfortable. Host are kinde and helpful. We are always happy to have good place to rest after long day of walk!

I did "El Camino de Santiago Frances," in 31 straight days from 08 May 2014 - 07 June 2014. I must say the Albergue San Marcos is one of the newest, cleanest, and nicest albergues throughout the whole entire camino and I stayed in Albergues from SJPP all the way to Santiago de Compostela. It has all the facilities one could ask for as well as a very hospitable staff. If you pass through Palas de Rei, I recommend you stay here for the night. Good luck and Buen Camino!!!

Right on the Camino. It was nice they separated women from men- had a room with 3 other women and that was nice. Nice sheets and blankets.

Excellent staff! Room was very clean and so was the bathroom. Had a lovely stay!! 10/10 recommend.

Very clean and nice area. There's a nearby church too, and we managed to get a stamp before leaving Palas de Rei which is a bonus!

A very nice and clean place with very kind staff! The only issue maybe the scarce place in the shower, but there is hot water which overwrites everything :)

This is the best albergue (new, modern, clean, comfortable) on camino way with the most friendly and nice staff. And is situated just near the church.

Great private room for our family of 4. Very comfy beds and good price.

Modern, clean, well organized, all places within had good signage translated to English. So far no negatives.
