Super cute location, small bistro tables right on the street with great people watching. The garlic shrimp are piping hot and so tasty! The wine was delicious and super cheap!

Everything was so delicious but the absolute MUST HAVE was by far the shrimp in garlic oil !! So freaking good!! Highly recommend it!! The only down for me was that the bar had no stool so we stood up the whole time to eat. Their other location across the street had chairs though.

Garlic galore and we're here for it! The highlight was the kind and welcoming service from Luis, who recommended various items on their menu. The garlic shrimp is a staple, which we paired with vermú, because why not! The vibe feels like a traditional Spanish tapas restaurant. Come casual and ready to experience some potent flavors. Nice experience on a rainy Madrid day.

Authentic Spanish tapas. Location could not be better for a Tapas bar. Service was outstanding, I believe our server's name is Luis, who was extremely helpful, he even sings and shows a very elated and happy mood. Garlic shrimps is their specialty. Great experience.

Let me start by saying there are bad reviews here, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! We specifically went to El Casa Del Abuelo on Calle de la Victoria 12 and it’s marvelous. We came twice on our trip to Madrid and we had the gambas al ajillo both times and BOTH were phenomenal. Best we’ve ever had!! The tomatoes are also very good as is the jamon iberico. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. The wait staff is attentive, very kind, funny and truly one of the best we’ve ever had. Their wine is also a must try!!! Wish we could come here everyday.

I really love this place. A local and family owned restaurant a where the garlic shrimp is an absolute must! Truly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The staff is very kind, and sometimes they have a band that comes in and plays music. Such a fun place to bring friends and family! Also, make sure to try the sweet wine!

The curry shrimp is very good one. It is blandly seasoned while you can taste the original flavour of the shrimps. The fried mushroom balls is so creamy and it goes well with any of your favoured drink😝😍

Authentic shrimp tapas restaurant. Garlic shrimp is amazing! Went first with a food tour group and came back again for the full experience. House wines and house vermouth are all excellent especially the premium red. The wait staff are all fun and unique in their own way.

Yummy Shrimp! Yes! Sizzling shrimp with that sauce to dip your bread into... Excellent! There are actually 3 La Casa del Abuelos. The Original has the wine barrels out front. We stopped in the one, right across the street from it. The waiter was very friendly and pleasant. The food was, again, excellent, well seasoned. Worth the money, you will not be disappointed, unless you don't like shrimp 🤷🏽 at the end of our meal, the waiter gave my husband and I small shots of wine, and boy was it good! Salute! We may stop over and get a bottle. Enjoy! ♥🦐 🍷

Best ever gambas pil pil! Don’t let so much as a drop of that garlic infused olive oil go to waste!

As soon as we’ve heard about this place, we just had to go! Sizzling gambas, fried shimps and a glass of beer, hmmm, heavenly!

Great little restaurant that's been here over 100 years. The food the staff and the outdoor seating can't be beat. The garlic shrimp is the best in the city.

We saw youtubers talking about this place but had to check it out for ourselves and it was even better than what we expected. Service was impeccable and the gambas were phenomenal. We could have eaten them every day!
