Elkano Txiki

Fantastic restaurant! We couldn't reach them by phone, but were lucky enough to get chairs at the bar. Everything is simply superb. First of all, their Txakoli. Like any drink, this comes in different quality levels, this one was the best we had so far. The Gilda's, Crab, Croquettes, unique Ravioli and also the Ceviche (* it's super fresh, but very different from a tradional spicy one in Peru). Following the raving cheesecake reviews, we can only confirm. The place is ran by a small team with an open kitchen, despite the full house they managed extremely well.

10/10 experience — the food, the freshness, the service, the price to taste ratio. A must go for anyone visiting the Basque country!
Ended up ordering half of the menu — totally worth it as the ingredients are simple, yet balanced perfectly and with lots of flavor!
Special recommendation: seafood skewers, ceviche and octopus, plus the fromage dessert.

We couldn't get into the Elkano restaurant for lunch and were recommended its more casual eatery/pintxos bar, which we considered a blessing in disguise coz we were not actually in the mood for a formal sit down meal. What we got was perfect - sat outside on a sunny day and had simple, down-to-earth, delicious food. Loved the croqueta and roasted spider crab, tomato salad and fish ceviche.

Amazing food! From the same owners as the upscale Michelin restaurant Elkano around the corner. It's slightly more expensive then most small eateries but it's very worth it!

Top! Everything delicious, feel-at-home atmosphere. The best bar staff and the kitchen … wow!

Hands down the best food experience I had in recent times. The flavours were perfectly balanced and intense, the dishes imaginative and traditional at the same time. The half-serving option gives you the chance to taste everything that piques your interest and the staff is very experienced and kind. Makes me want to relocate just to dine here more often...

Incredible! Everything was amazing - food, service and atmosphere. We tried 50% of the menu by ordering 1/2 portions - and everything was better than the other! The people are also super friendly and nice. Highly recommend.

This place is absolutely amazing. Everything on the menu tastes great, as well as the wine. The prices are very reasonable as well. Highly recommended.

Dropped in on a very rainy night to find a full restaurant that only seats about 20. One of the staff spoke English (thank you!) and asked a regular to make room for us (which he graciously did). We had the croquettes (delicious), and half portions of the mashed potatoes with ham and egg and the charred octopus. Absolutely delicious, as was the wine, Tkakoli, the local specialty. A great find on a dreary night!

Enjoyed this more than Elkano, (but I am a tapas man). Came in at like 30% of cost.

Incredible food. They were fully booked, but we managed to get a tiny table outside on a very picturesque street. Everything was outstanding. We had ceviche, squid rice, amazing marinated tuna and peppers.

AMAZING food! One of the best I've ever had. A friend recommended me to go, and because they work without reservations, I made sure to go really early as they don't have those many tables.

We tried many of the dishes from their short but fantastic menu, and everything was delicious. My favourites were the Tuna Tataki and the Grilled Octopus. Prices are more than reasonable, with a high quality/price ratio.

A meal there if possible while travelling around is a must.

Professional and friendly service, and excellent food. Good range of wines from the region and wider. Small place, go early to secure a spot or just stand and wait having a drink, waitresses were very good at getting people a spot to sit. The ravioli of bogavante was outstanding, but everything was great!

A little jewel, my recommendation ? Ask for half rations so you can taste as many of the dishes as possible. Great ceviche, great octopus, amazing creamy rice with kokokotxas !! A great small place
