A great hotel . Close to everything in Santiago .. Amazing staff .. this is the place to stay once you finish the Comino , or just visiting the city .

There is absolutely no better location than this hotel. If you are visiting Santiago. Close to the cathedral, shopping streets, and lots and lots and lots of wonderful food. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I will.always come back to this hotel.

If you are looking for a hotel that is in the heart of Old Town (very short distance from the cathedral) - this is your best choice! The hotel is on a beautiful square and everything about the little resort says “Welcome!”
One very important offering is a wine tasting service by Elena who made our group of 10 delighted to be at the Hotel Montes! Her attitude is amazing and her knowledge of local wines of Galicia is phenomenal!
Elena provided a pairing of wines with local cheeses and customized the event (scheduled for our group in the evening) specifically for our tastes and needs!

Nice hotel, front desk is located in the second floor. Keep in mind that it is not 24 hours, you will be given a key to access the property at night. Excellent location close to restaurant, cathedral and post office. If you are looking for a place to decompress after your camino, this is a great option. The suite has a very nice bathtub with a beautiful view. BONUS** AC works amazing!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was super, our room was cool, clean and crisp.. really lovely and welcoming after a tough walk from the Portuguese way. No frills as none needed, beautiful double doors with Juliet balcony overlooking the gardens below. Fabulous sunset over the museum. Cathedral visible also. We had room 301, air conditioning good and quite also would recommend. Feature old stone fireplace in room also which was lovely. 6ft bed slept very well. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked popular. We ordered a taxi to the airport, which was a delight, beautiful car and punctual, only €21 super value.

We loved this place, its location and above all the cleanness, the comfort and the friendly reception! Next to it there are several places for breakfast and the Cathedral is 2 min away! They allow us to have a late checkout without any plains or charges! Definitely recommend. Our room was the cheapest but nevertheless the bathroom and the window view was great!!!!

Too bad I don’t have any pictures of this great hotel, but that’s 100% what you need after completing the Camino route. The staff is very helpful and friendly, it feels so nice to be taken care of after all the Albergues. They have a storage room and allí to keep the backpack there before going to Cathedral. Very flexible with check in, and will let you to do an early one if the room is ready. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Breakfast buffet for 10 Euro totally with it

My wife and I stopped here for a brief stay on a longer tour of northern Spain. The location on a beautiful square with views of the university and cathedral was wonderful. The staff members were all very gracious and helpful. Marvelous restaurants were only a few steps away. We enjoyed listening to the gentle trickling of the fountain in the square and the soft sounds of extraordinarily gifted street musicians wafting through our open window. We were reluctant to leave, but felt we should continue our planned tour, which we did for one more night before scrapping our original plan and returning to Hotel Montes for the remainder of our time in Spain. We will definitely be staying there again. It has been over a year since our stay, and we still talk about it every day.

A gem in the very center of town. At Hotel Montes you feel at home (away from home) and the staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. The rooms are perfect for what we needed.
ps: If you happen to be a light sleeper, ask for a back room, happy midnight revelers might awaken you!

Situated right in the heart of SdC, you couldn't be better placed. If you happen to request room 202 you will have snapped an absolute bargain. It's a 5 star room with a 3 star price tag. The room has a king-size bed, beautiful bath, a/c, and the view is straight out over the square ( so if you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs as night time noise may be an issue).

Such an Awesome hotel and the best part was our WINE TASTING with Helena!! She pairs the wines with cheese and the experience was excellent!!

Great service, great room, great location

Pasei a noite pasada alí xunto a miña parella na suite con bañera (uns 150€ aprox) e fantástico, un trato escepcional de parte da recepcionista, a cal a hora da reserva nos ofreceu un trato moi familiar e cando chegamos ao hotel tamén nos fixo certas recomendacións da zona, ideal para a xente que nunca antes visitou Santiago e mesmo tamén para quen cree coñecela.
A habitación estaba moi limpa cun espazo moi ben tratado, a habitación contiña unha boa iluminación entre luces LED, lamparitas de noites e demáis, ao fin de contas moi bem.
Ademáis disto, o hotel está moi ben situado e tea un acceso rápido a todolos servizos por menos de 10 minutos de paseo.

Excelente ubicación y estado de habitaciones. Calle con movimiento pero sin ruidos muy tranquila. Atención genial , hotel para tenerlo en cuenta y repetir. Taberna muy acogedora y tapas riquísimas.

El hotel es muyyyy bueno por su fantástica ubicación y la atención en recepción de Mary, entre otras cosas, y sumado a esto en la Taberna Montes (bar del hotel) está Demian un gran ser humano, muy empatico y excelente profesional… para no perder! Bravo! Fantástico!

Desayunamos en la cafetería de este hotel dos días. Fantástico desayuno y fantástico servicio. Los camareros no pueden ser más amables.
