Restaurante Cotolay (Santiago de Compostela)

Food is just excellent. The roasted beef hip and also the lamb are both fantastic- among the best I’ve ever had. My dinner mates joked that it seemed like I was having a religious experience eating those meals (I got the lamb and sampled my cousin’s beef order).
Service is very slow. They’re understaffed but do their best - be very patient and you’ll be rewarded. Wait staff are good people, just overwhelmed when it’s busy. I Will most certainly be back next time I’m in Santiago.

The Gambas Al Ajillo is a MUST try!! I personally think it’s the best I’ve had since I came to Spain. This place accommodate large group. I came with a group of 12, we took 1 long table of 8, and another table for 4. And while we were there, were also another large group next to our table.
The food portion is totally decent, and generous amount of seafoods on our Paella.
Overall, we had a great time dining at this place.

The best Octupus I ever had. And the croquetes to die for..... I hightly recommend this place. We were served by two exellent ladies, Fatima and Vanesa , it could not have been better! Hightly recommended!!!!!!!

We enjoyed a fabulous Black rice with clams and squid for two. Our first black rice paella experience….It did not disappoint 🤩

Hereby, as promised since I didnt have any internet while I visited on the 13rd of July, a review from your Dutch customer; it was lovely! The food, a sizzling steak with vegetables was amazing. The waitress was very friendly and checked in from time to time if she could be of service. 9.5/10, highly recommended! Cheers from Holland:)

The food was served in a tapas style and was wonderful. A meal was part of a day tour from Porto which although a little bit rushed was well for money.

Great food, visited twice had the Cotolay salad each time, excellent mix of lettuce, tomatoes, onion, boiled egg, mango, apple and orange. Main course turbot and thin sliced potatoes, oven baked I think, for 17 euros - remarkable value!

Excellent local seafood. Host so welcoming, variety great. Loved the large Salad with tuna. Scallops and grilled squid fantastic.
