Hotel Gelmírez

Great place to stay. Good price, location, hot breakfast buffet. Next to the aiport bus stop. The hotel is remodeled. Very modern.

This is a 3 star hotel with a very good rate! Located right on the main street that takes you to the Cathedral and close to different attractions, restaurants and train station. Cozy, comfortable and very helpful staff. Santiago and Ana were our main point of contact at the hotel since they were working at the reception and make our stay at Gelmirez hotel very pleasant. Buffett breakfast was included and unique with Spanish charcuterie and local cheeses. Our room was on the 8th floor very spacious and modern. Location is ideal for a morning stroll and very close to everything. Remember reviews are very subjective and only reflect the way of traveling of the person who stayed at the place reviewed. I been traveling for more than 50 years and visited the 5 continents and over 40 countries. So, you can take my review as a good one.

Stayed here one night with my friend. The room was quiet and comfortable. Had a mini fridge which was nice for keeping drinks cold. The breakfast in the morning looked nice but I didn’t try it. Would have been nice to have coffee or tea available for free. I think you had to purchase the breakfast to get any as there was none in the room. Bed was comfy. The shower in the bathroom could be updated. The shower head didn’t work very well. It wasn’t fixed to the wall well enough and kept turning to the side.

Rooms are sized consistent with contemporary hotels in older buildings. But the rooms appear to have been recently remodeled and are very nice. Bathroom is large with contemporary fixtures and a soaking tub with shower. Breakfast is weak.

After five grueling days of walking the Camino de Santiago, we were looking forward to a good night's sleep at Hotel Gelmirez. The hotel was located just a short walk from the city center, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was incredibly soft. We slept like babies!

The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet before setting out to explore the city.

Overall, we had an excellent stay at Hotel Gelmirez. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-located. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santiago de Compostela.

Stayed here for 2 nights. After getting into SdC quite late, it was exactly what I needed. Great facilities and people at the front desk were also super. Breakfast was 6.5 euros if you didn’t get it with your booking. It was very sufficient. The coffee was strong and plenty of pastries. There was even eggs! Shower in my room was inconsistent with the temperature but nothing dramatic. My favourite part was it was warm!

Very nice hotel. Very kind staff. We had to leave early this morning and they packed us a delicious picnic breakfast. Ver kind people.

Beautiful place, lovely big spacey rooms, central to everything, hotel staff lovely and polite, breakfast such a beautiful layout , lovely place to stay , beds comfortable ❤

Clean modern hotel at a fair price and very close to train station

Excellent stay. Clean and modern room and bathroom, 5 minute walk from the old town, next to a supermarket and tons of cafes, airport bus stop 1 block away, quiet neighbourhood, friendly and accommodating staff. Couldn't have asked for more. I will stay here again whenever I come back to Santiago.

Just 15 minutes walk (and I am a slow walker) from the Cathedral and the Pilgrim Reception office, with many Panadeira (bakeries) and Cafes around, and convenient services like Supermercado (supermarket) and Laundry nearby.

Friendly staff, well kept hotel and room. Bed was a nice queen, not a 'double' made by pushing two twins together! 10 minute walk to the cathedral.

Comfortable room, recent and good price. Super sympathetic receptionists (the breakfast room staff as well). The breakfast could be a little more varied.

Comfortable clean affordable. They accomadated me with my bicycle being picked up from the hotel. Great part of town to walk to places
