Bar El Frances

I’m still thinking of the food we enjoyed here. It was the best in our entire 10 days tour through Andalusia (and we really went to some good places!). Incredible flavor and presentation, I was sad I couldn’t eat more, you need to come on an empty stomach!
They are also very informed and accommodating for gluten restrictions so I managed to have a safe lunch here. SO SO goood. Sadly no room for dessert 🥲

This place was recommended by our local Kite Surfe Coach and he was absolutely right. The staff was super nice and the food was delicious! My favorites were the mushrooms filled with goat cheese.

Wow! Great food. We ordered four dishes. Chicken kebab, grilled beef, grilled octopus and couscous dish.All delicious! Staff are super friendly. seating is mostly outside. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

Exceptional service, food incredible, great staff, especially with language barrier (I speak English and minimal Spanish and they navigated me a fantastic small plate and a couple of vinos brilliantly). Thank you for making me feel welcome in a quick overnighter as a breather from Morocco.

Absolutely delicious food! The portions were generous and the service was very quick! Surprisingly the reserva house wine was super good!

After a few days of trying to get in, we finally made it, and it was sooo worth it!!!!! Nice terrace, pretty fast, and very friendly service. The food is absolutely delicious, probably one of the best in Tarifa! I am glad we visited and can't recommend it enough. Maybe a little bit pricey but truly delicious!

We throughly enjoyed our food here, the oxtail was delicious, as were the meatballs and couscous.

A great local restaurant, very laid back atmosphere and the staff is attentive and helpful. You can tell that it's popular as the tables are busy.
The food was great - we (2 ppl) got lovely ceviche with white fish, half portion of grilled tuna (which was larger than expected :)), patatas bravas 1/2 and aubergines with tomatoe chutney and goat cheese. Both look and taste of the food were to remember:)

Excellent! We're amazed by the food in this town, and El Frances was a highlight. The eggplant and the mushrooms were both scrumptious, and the tuna of the day was incredible. Service was good and friendly. The terrace has heaters for colder nights.

Iberian steak with a side of vegetables, done to my request and liking. The house wine was a good add on to the meal. I recommend it.

Having dinner at Bar el Frances was definitely one of my highlights in Tarifa. AMAZING food, especially the batatas bravas and the mushrooms with goat cheese. It usually takes a while until you get a table, so I recommend to come a bit earlier, they give you a time, you take a walk around town and then have dinner. Highly recommend this place ☺🤤🫠

The food is fabulous! We ordered the fish patatas bravas, the gazpacho soup, and 🐙 pulpo. Every dish had its own brillante flavor. It’s very busy and it’s about the only restaurant that is open after 16h. Most restaurants close around 16h (after lunch) we got there around 16:30 and the restaurant was still packed. So we had a late lunch early dinner. The service is amazing even though they are busy. Food came out fast. Carrot cake was yum!

Great place. Menu is different from all around Spain. Very very tasty. Worderful staff!. Be ready to stand in a que - it's worth it :-)

Never disappoints; was here 5 years ago and came back this year while in Tarifa. The food is always cooked to perfection. Their aubergine and goats cheese dish is so good. Chiperones a la plancha are some of the best you’ll find. Steak was lovely but expensive for Spain, though good for sharing. All in all you can’t go wrong! Todo muy rico!

Amazing tapas bar! Very friendly service! Thanks to Eva for being so nice with us and looking at us being so hungry, she got the order ready as quick as possible! The fish of the day is delicious. Must try!!

We ordered salmorejo, the eggplant with goat cheese and the fried pulpo and loved it! They have quite a few veggie options which is a nice change when you had enough of all the heavy deep fried food.
