Designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano, Centro Botín adds a modern charm to Santander. Take the “singing” elevator to the top floor for stunning views of the Bay of Biscay and the mountains. We were fortunate enough to visit on a day with clear skies and could see the snow topped mountains on the other side of the bay.

Wanted to see this place for a while - it really adds to the city waterfront. Great views from the roof and a good exhibition space.

As someone who has never visited an art museum before, this was a great first place to visit. Staff were extremely friendly and even gave me some insight into some of the pieces. Beautiful and thought provoking art work on both floors, really enjoyed the experience. Also amazing views from the observation platforms of the bay and a great cafe right beneath it.

Very nice art museum directly located at the sea. The exhibition is super interesting, and if you don't go there for the art, the rooftop or the cafe are still very enjoyable.

The building itself is a masterpiece and large in size. It has a lift to the rooftop to get a great view over the port.

Great place to hang out.
Wonderful place by the bay with several different spaces and activities that give different things to do all year round.
The cafe is a very nice place to eat or have a coffee and the indoor and outdoor seats allow being used during the cold months too. They have gas heaters outside so you can stay nice and warm while having a drink.
The museum expos aren't very interesting imho but can be something to do if you have a couple of hours to spare.
Don't miss the visit to the rooftop terrace and, please do take the lift, it's a very interesting experience. Don't want to spoil the details, but it's a simple, fun and curious intervention!

The futuristic two-block Centro Botín is a waterfront arts centre opened in 2017 and designed by Italian Renzo Piano (architect of Paris' Centre Pompidou and London's Shard), is covered in 280,000 ceramic discs. It encompasses 2500 sq metres of gallery space for exhibitions of international contemporary art, along with open-air stairways, a rooftop viewing platform and cafe with views over the water.

5 stars isn't enough. The setting is wonderful, the building is interesting and beautiful, the exhibitions are fantastic, and the staff are friendly and passionate about art. Special praise because on the occasion I visited, 2 out of the 3 major exhibitions were by female artists. This means a lot. Highly recommended.

Great place tu visit in Santander (Spain). It is an amazing building by Renzo Piano. The temporal exhibition is a Thomas Demand work "world of paper" and I recommend a lot for the meticulously models he creates and the photographs.

Excellent modern art museum , well worth a trip to if you are heading to Bilbao as well. Hit the roof for a great view of the harbour and check out the largest elevator you have ever seen. The cafe and giftshop has nice gems as well.

There's a free viewing deck on both halves of the building that gives an amazing view of the bay and city skyline. The centre itself also has event auditoriums and exhibitions. The cafe downstairs also provides a wonderful view. Worth checking out for the viewing deck alone.

The building is incredible! Every angle in it. Go upstairs outside!! The view is amazing, the park is relaxing. And the store has the best Renzo Piano books!
