White Desert

Wonderful 2 Night/3 Day Desert Trip!
From start to finish our group of 7 enjoyed a fantastic desert adventure with White Desert Camping. Making arrangements with Mustafa was easy; he was always prompt in responding to my questions and requests. Our driver to Bawiti arrived at our Cairo hotel on time and the ride to Bawiti was very comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in Bawiti prior to heading out to the desert in the 4 x 4s. Mustafa and Fatoota were extremely amiable, excellent drivers, and excellent cooks too! They made sure we were well fed and comfortable throughout the trip and we enjoyed music and singing around the campfire with them each evening.

Egypt has so much more to offer than historical monuments. The Black and White Desert is a must see. Unique to Egypt, the Desert is littered with limestone and seashells. It was an ocean millions of years ago. Your Bedouin guide will cook for u THE best food in Egypt.

The sky is unbelievable. The place itself is just great for camping, a bit cold at night but the weathet is great at daytime, while you are there you can actually visit the black mountains there as well full of hardened lava rocks, and the crystal mountain i thinks is not so far away from the same place, overall the place was amazing.

it is a fantastic place, you must have a local guide with 4x4 car, spend al the night there, and dress warmly in winter, a lot of people camping near others.
Avoid going Wahat in Summer, as it is very hot, the best time is from October to April.

Most tourists to Egypt have a long checklist of sights they want to see: The Great Pyramid of Giza, the Sphinx, the Red Sea, the Valley of the Kings, the Egyptian Museum, to name a few.

I was like that too when I visited last December.

The problem with all of those destinations, for me, is that I've dreamed about visiting them for so long that they could never possibly live up to my expectations.

As I've found time and again, the best tourist experiences are the ones I didn't plan and had no expectations for. With that in mind, when I spotted an ad for a tour to Bahariya Oasis, the Black Desert, and the White Desert at Dahab Hostel in Cairo, I was intrigued.

I was dying to get out of the city after a week in busy, polluted Cairo. Though I knew little about any of the places in the tour, I decided to take a chance.

I am so glad I did. All three locations are part of Egypt's Western Desert, the section of the Sahara Desert that covers the half of the country west of the Nile. Each place was more beautiful than the last.
