This museum has an amazing collection of historical pieces, clothes, books, paintings, book covers, coins, small statues and doors. It's a 2 story building but there are some small buildings that include a small library, school toilets, cafeteria. You also get to see another side of Babylon fortress and the gate of Amr Ben Al-Aas. There's the amazing mashrabya (a window designed with wood and colored glass). It's perfect for taking pictures. Tickets are cheap. Security and staff are very easygoing.

As a christian church in Cairo it's a freshing, beautiful place. The Hanging Church itself is really special. A little bit crowded, but tolerable. The merchants are nice, and souvenirs are very cheap.

The coptic museum is a good source of artifacts and facts about the origins of the coptic church in Egypt. Almost all items on display are labbeled in detailed English. The Babylon fortress is next to it and can be seen as a part of the park in which the museum is located.

This museum can be reached easily using the metro since it is right next to the Mar Girgis station

One of Egypt’s finest museums. The Coptic Museum is a welcome source of tranquility in the busy capital. Just a metro ride away from the centre, the museum has an impressive collection of Coptic art. The collection includes wonderful late Roman and early christian works of art, impressive textiles and awesome manuscripts. The building with its gardens and annexes is a gem itself. Well worth a visit if you’re in Cairo.

Ancient area of Cairo with various churches of historical importance dating back to the Coptic era during the Roman and Greek presence. The museum is very well presented.

The Coptic Museum is a museum in Coptic Cairo, Egypt with the largest collection of Coptic Christian artifacts in the world. It was founded by Marcus Simaika in 1908 to house Coptic antiquities.

The museum traces the history of Egypt from its beginnings to the present day. It was erected on 8,000 square meter land offered by the Coptic Orthodox Church, under the guardianship of Pope Cyril V.

The Coptic museum houses the world's most important examples of Coptic art and it was truly spectacular, the artifacts were breathtaking and the museum itself is very well-organized and everything was exhibited beautifully.

I highly recommend checking out the museum whenever you’re in Coptic Cairo.

The Coptic Museum contains Copt Art from paintings, jewellery, illustrated books, wood beams. The museum is well curated and beautiful. If you love wood carvings and detailed art that links between Greek and Egyptian history it’s a great place.
And also built around the Fortress of Babylon.

It costs 100EP.

Lovely place to visit. A huge variety of Coptic artefacts from different time periods. Unfortunately, the museum was not air conditioned however you could feel that it is actually a little bit colder than outside. Most things have descriptions in English and French alongside Arabic. Be sure to arrive there early as its working hours are quite short.
The museum has two floors and its beautifully carved in stone and wood.

A very rich and interesting museum that shed light on the history of christianity in Egypt from the early days all the way to the modern age. The building itself is beautifully decorated. The visit is a must.

If you are a Christian and coming to Egypt for religious tourism, this is definitely a stop for you. If you are not, then this is still a place to go. It was AWESOME.

An amazing collection of Coptic art from Christianity and ancient Egypt history. All are allowed to visit. Ticket price currently is 20 EGP. The security at the main gate will check your ID before entering. Everyone is polite and respectful regardless of what your actual religion is.

Worthwhile even for non-Christians. The building itself is already worth the 100 EGP entry fee, and the museum has some nice pieces. I found the art combining Coptic, Egyptian and Greek in one especially fascinating.

Easily combined with the (free) Hanging Church next door, and quickly accessible through metro line 1. Highly recommended!
