Nubian House

We were very seduced by Said's warm welcome. The house is located on the western part of Elephantine Island, it is very easy to reach by taking the ferry (5EGP) and crossing the width of the island. We were 20 minutes away from the center of Aswan. Said gave us lots of good advice and prepared a Nubian village excursion for us. The accommodation is lovely and peaceful. The view over the Nile is exceptional. Excellent value for money. We witnessed beautiful sunsets. The room is clean and very pleasant. A superb Nubian parenthesis and a guaranteed change of scenery surrounded by nature on the banks of the African river. I highly recommend to anyone wishing to discover Aswan and its surroundings.

We ve stayed two nights there. The contact with Ahmed was good as he was waiting for us at the ferry boat and helped us also with the luggage. We ve travelled as a family and chose this place also for it style but also for the possibility to have enough beds. Ahmed can arrange many things and we had the luck to be able to go to Abu Simbel by texting him details while our plane was delayed and to not loose one day. You can eat there if necessary. You can use kitchen and the terrace is very nice in the morning for breakfast and evening for the sunset.

This place is now called NUBA DOOL Guesthouse. It’s run by a family (owner, nephews, cousins, wives, and even the kids) and everyone is SO sweet. The rooms were clean and large, decoration is cute, the breakfast was very good (they even provided breakfast boxes when we had early starts), the main contact Mohammed replied almost immediately if we ever needed anything, the little cruise arranged to Nubian village by them was wonderful and inexpensive. The whole place is hassle free, friendly, honest, and very accommodating - which is difficult to find in Egypt. 100% would stay again if we are ever back in Aswan - a pleasure. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Various types of tour also afford to be cheap and safe. It is a really good hostel, the terrace is always open and offers free hot drinks. There is always a staff waiting to get, and it was able to spend a fun and relaxed time in Aswan.

Rooms: Ask for one of the terrace rooms, they seem like spatial rooms decorated beautifully. There’s a 24 hour accessible kitchen besides these rooms, help yourself to anything anytime of the day!

Breakfast: the healthiest and most scrumptious breakfast I have had in Egypt. Cooked with love, served with overwhelming courtesy, one can have breakfast with other guests or by self; either way it’s a great experience! Don’t miss the morning yoga on the roof with the sunrise view over the Nile.

How to reach: Take a 2egp ferry from the elephantine ferry point, and walk a 100 meters to reach the Batotta house. The ferry runs all day, so anytime to and fro is easy.

Aswan Tours: Now this is the main thing: Mohammed will help with almost everything. Felucca ride in the Nile at 80-100 egp per hour, Abu Simbel trip, Ride to Luxor, Day trip to Nubian Village by motor boat. The main thing is that the people providing these services, the car, boat are of perfect quality! All you need to do is request the trip a day before and your all set for cherished moments around Aswan.

We stayed 2 nights and loved it! Food is amazing. Staff super friendly, helpful and kind! Don't let the island fool you, getting on and off is easy. They will hook you up with a great boat service. WhatsApp always responsive. Put together a great Abu Simbel tour too! 👏👌🤗

This is a very cute Cafe next to the Aswan Museum. Ahmad is very kind and does a lot to introduce his guest to Nubian culture, art and weaving. His sister also offers Henna tattoos if asked. There is also a real crocodile for to show for visitors to see!

Ahmad is so kind and welcoming. The mint tea was so refreshing and delicious we ordered seconds. Imaan created the most pretty henna masterpiece on my hand. They are so special.

I started my journey in Cairo and that has made me rather wary of nice people.
Yet, when I came to Nuba Dool, they were nothing but honest and truly nice. They helped explain the public transportation and even provide a wonderful breakfast. Their English is very good as well!

I stayed for 1 night and it was good. All properties are set to be like traditional house of Nubian. You’ll see colorful carpets and beds. The pros are: 1) You’ll get a really silent place with sounds from wind, boat and birds. 2) You’ll get an almost private small bank of the Nile with big stones. Take a while just for relax here in the evening or morning. It is super fantastic! 3) Nice staffs and helpful. Some cons maybe you will find it’s a bit far from the ferry side (you need to walk 3-4 mins btw). But that’s ok since you can be relaxed when you stay there. Thank you Sayyid and Hamid. Best luck!

It's a good place place and simple to have a hot tea or cold drink you can buy a gifts too and he have a lovely crocodile there... It's a nubien house....

Very pleasant stay, nice quiet atmosphere, and Said was very helpful, recommend!!

We stopped in for 2 minutes to see the arts and crafts, very beautiful. Owner was not pushy and we took our time to look around.
