The High Dam

It's a Majestic Dam situated in Aswan, built between 1960 to 1970 to regulte flood, increase agricultural production and generate hydroelectric power. Construction of Aswan High Dam across the Nile, created a resorvoir, the Nasser lake, which is approximately 550 kilometer long, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.  Very interesting site to visit as the water loos dark blue from a distance.

What I liked about this was not just the engineering etc but the views of the surrounding Nubian villagers and just thinking of what this was like back in the days.

High Dam was awesome and has an amazing history that was insightful. Definitely recommended to check it out!

It was neat to learn about the history of the dam. Beautiful views and nice information boards. Definitely worth a visit. The Egyptians are really proud of this achievement which has a great impact in their culture and economy .

I love hights and I was surprised that i could climb the monument tower by lift. The view in every direction was a history on it's own.

It's an extension for the great work done by the ancient Egyptian by the modern Egyptian and creating behind the dam one of the biggest lakes ever!

A magical place, an achievement to the pharaohs’ descendants, a guardian for Egypt to protect from the flood or a safe storage to keep the flow in the times of need, a spark to light a country.

Excellent visit for one of our major projects... it's the high Dam which we built with our shoulders... when all countries refused to help.. we are proud of it.

Must see and included with most tours

Biggest achievement of all time in novel Egyptian history. Being on the high dam made me feel so proud of myself, my country and my grandparents who constructed the high dam. All my praises to the previous two presidents who supported the dam construction Gamal Abdelnasser and Mohammed Anwar Elsadat 😍😍😍
