The food was excellent. Takoyaki was textbook perfect and exactly like I get in Osaka (just on a ceramic plate, not a bamboo disposable dish). Just be careful because it's served screaming hot (again just like in Osaka) and you can burn your mouth. The Korean garlic bread is a nice snack to share and worth ordering. However we noticed the garlic bread was on the English menu, but not on the Estonian menu. So you may have to ask for it if you don't see it listed. The Ebi mayo is delicious, but it's not really a tempura as other reviews mention. The shrimp are lightly fried and do have a thin coating, but it's more akin to a Chinese style walnut prawn (seemed like a light dredge in corn or rice flour, but not a batter like a tempura). The Korean fried chicken was a little disappointing as it is more like a Japanese karaage with Korean fried chicken sauce (sweet, spicy). It doesn't have the super crunchy batter that Korean fried chicken is known for.

The pork and seafood ramen were both good, though not quite traditional Japanese. The pork ramen broth is more of a rich pork soup with its own spices than a traditional tonkotsu broth. Note that it does have a rich layer of fat on top. Some other reviews complain this is "greasy", but this is how many ramens are traditionally served in Japan. Fat = Flavor. The seafood ramen was spicier than I expected (and very spicy by Estonian standards). It was a perfect amount for me, but one of our Estonian friends was suffering a bit.

The chicken katsu curry was well done. The chicken's panko crust was very crispy and the curry was the perfect amount of spicy. The curry sauce was less sweet than the average Japanese curry, but still very good.

Service was excellent and our waitress was charming and attentive. The restaurant decor is hip and reminded me of artist warehouse studios where we'd have raves in the 90's, only much cleaner and nicer! But it did make me wonder if they'd ever have a live DJ because that would be fantastic!

I recommend Kampai as a good option for brunch or dinner. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff is very friendly and attentive.
Since my previous visit, I have noticed significant changes in the restaurant menu. However, the dishes are delicious. I liked the pork ramen that I ordered.
Also, you can consider Kampai if you are looking for a place to have a glass of wine or cocktails. The restaurant offers a wide selection of drinks.

Ramen was rich and flavorful, chashu nice, fatty and slightly charred giving it tiny bit of smokey flavor, overall nice amount of spice. Could have been a bit hotter though.

Salmon sashimi was excellent, super fresh, perfectly cut, I guess as good as one can get in continental Europe, nice touch with the horseradish.

Service was good, quick and friendly. Thanks guys.

Dogs allowed.

We tasted as good as everything on the list and it was splendid. Funnily enough the food was so tasty, we forgot to take pictures. The one dish I have a picture of is my favourite, the gem lettuce salad. It looks like nothing special, but the dressing was to die for. Hence, we ordered a second round of the salad. Strong recommendations also go to the duck confit, the ramen (amazing balance) and the takoyaki octopus.

Excellent food, especially takoyakis! Tartar got few salty bits but it wasn't a deal breaker. Atmosphere inside is really pleasant.

Strong Asian vibes from the decor, through music to the dishes combined with the amazing service we all know from Restaurant Inari.

Everything was simply amazing but the definite highlights were merevaik takoyakis, sashimi-tuna-tartar (ah-ma-zing!!) and superb oysters with ponzu and jalapeño.

The feeling was so homey and warm through the whole experience that the only regret we have is that Kampai needs to be in Tallinn instead of our home corners in Helsinki. Well, one more reason to visit Tallinn often.

Nice Japanese place, open atmosphere that's easy going but with a twist of sophistication. Nice selection of food with some vegetarian options. Vegan and gluten free options not marked but are there. Great selection of beers, wines, whisky and saki. Friendly and helpful staff, great service which is unusual for Tallinn. Worth visiting and a place you'll likely return to.

Atmosphere was lovely but the food was just fantastic! The flavours were just something out of this world, just couldn't have enough. As the portions were not too big, be sure to try out most of the menu.

I didn’t expect I can have such a authentic Japanese Ramen in Tallinn. It’s so tasty. As a Hongkonger, a frequent traveller to Japan and a Japanese cultural lover, I can promise this is the best ramen I have ever had in Europe.

We had the most delightful experience at this place, the food was exquisite so was the service.

Cocktails were an absolute masterpiece so much so that we had to ask for a recipe of one of them - Kiwi Cooler, which we could not stop thinking about weeks after we had been there.

Fortunately, Ella Korpi, was very kind as to respond our email let us know the ingredients for the cocktail, so an amazing service all round!

We found this place after visiting the nearby craft beer store, and enjoyed the chicken skewers and ebi appetizers. The pork noodles were also excellent. Fun atmosphere and although the service efficient but not overly friendly. It was a bit expensive, for three starters, one entree and one bottle of wine since the location was little difficult to get to and the area fairly quiet.

It's pretty good.

Place is nice, fairly large and was busy at the time we were in.

Food is great, fresh and tasty. Prices aren't that high.
