I did not stay at this hotel so I can't speak to the rooms, but I can speak to just about everything else.
The property boasts a picturesque seaside location at the edge of town and within walking distance to everything. There is easy street parking right alongside, beautifully landscaped grounds with a peaceful romantic feel, small swimming pool, billiard table, outdoor bar and lounge, restaurant with INCREDIBLE fresh local food, excellent drinks, warm and friendly staff and owners. There is nothing bad to be said at all!
It is considered a more pricey restaurant (dinner menu) by local standards but still - a three course meal (large portions) with drinks for two was under $50 with tip. We were stuffed!

We didn't sleep here just popped in for the day to use the pool and have a few cocktails and some food. I have to say the food was excellent, the cocktails (especially at happy hour) were great! The pool, whilst not being large, was big enough for our children to enjoy for the the afternoon.

Attention is really good, food is delicious, prices are according to what you are paying for and they are willing to please their costumers if they want something which is not on the menu. The hotel is also very pretty but we haven’t stayed there yet, prices are higher than other hotels in Canoa.

Right above the beach, with lots of shady vegetation, a small pool and lots of sandy, hang-out spaces, hammocks plus the odd.iguana! Now B&B and a little more upmarket but such an idyllic spot it seems well worth it. Very nice friendly staff, relaxed and some nice food options. Always a lovely stay.

Be aware if you open your own bottle of alcohol you'll be charged for it
We arrived very late at night, the night shift person went the extra mile to accommodate all our needs even though the bar and kitchen was already close.
Walking access to the beach ⛱ 😎
Pool ambiance and overall relaxing place.

We were there 15 years ago... It was great compared to the alternatives... Beautifully constructed huts on stilts. It was a well run place. Great healthy food. Great butterflies in the area, but, if walking through forest trails, beware of ticks that hide on logs or wood, and green snakes in trees.
Walk the beach at low tide to find ancient shards of pottery. Surf was low quality when I was there, but warm.

Friendly staff and nice clean accommodations. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner, and plan to eat there again.

Wonderful place to stay. The employees were very nice and we got a discount for nearby construction that made our yurt room only $25. Right on the beach and on the river, with a beautiful garden. Lots of space to sit in hammocks or play various games. The coconut smoothie is to die for! It's at the edge of town and is fairly quiet at night. Hot showers, wifi, clean rooms and common areas.

Great selection of local foods, right on the beachfront. We have stayed there twice and would love to return. The whole place is well maintained, clean and the staff is friendly. Recommend!

Great place to come and taste Ecuadorian food , the place is a little bit small but the food is excellent. Here you can try everything from ocean food, but also some traditional food such as hamburgers or pasta. Bambú also offers a place to stay, witch looks nice and clean. Although I haven’t try it, but the restaurant is very nice and have a huge variation of dishes as mentioned before.

I just enjoyed the most relaxing and beautiful extended vacation at Hotel Bambú. It met my every expectation and then some. Service was relaxed and yet professional. The employees seemed truly happy. I consider myself a pretty low-maintenance guest, but whatever specific request I made, like a hammock on my balcony, was met with a cheerfully positive response.

I chose this hotel because of its unique location at the intersection of a river and the ocean. The views did not disappoint. I watched doves nesting and iguanas eating fruits from the trees just feet from my balcony. Even though the property is very much surrounded by nature, the grounds are kept so tidy that I never felt the need to wear shoes.

The owners are all about improving their sustainability practices, so if that’s important to you, this is your hotel. No, my room didn’t have air conditioning, but it did have a great fan and a mini-fridge. With the windows wide open, I fell asleep to the sound of the waves and woke up to the friendly chatter of the local birds. I even scored myself a free drink from the bar for collecting a bag of trash at the beach (you can too).

As a single female traveler, I felt very safe here. I never needed to leave the hotel grounds after dark if I didn’t want to because the on-site restaurant is open from 8 am-10 pm. The menu was loaded with terrific vegetarian options that rivaled any seafood-centered dish I tried.

Since I stayed for two weeks, I was able to take advantage of most of the hotel’s services, including a fantastic massage in the little spa and laundry services. My clothes came back quickly and ironed at a price I’m embarrassed to admit to paying ($5).

In short, if you’re looking for a safe, clean, kind, comfortable, sustainable home-far-away-from-home, this is it. It’s pet friendly too!

The ambiance is really nice. There are lots of pretty string lights and plants, which makes it a beautiful spot to sit. The food is decent as well.

Amazing customer service! After being recommended to camp at this hostel because of its high quality amenities, perfect beach location and safety factor, we had the unfortunate luck of being the first people to experience an attempted (and unsuccessful) tent robbing at Bambú. As soon as we reported our tent being cut in the middle of the night, the manager and owner went above and beyond to take care of us. They provided us with a safe place to sleep and secured all of our belongings until the morning. The next day, they took our tent to be repaired at no cost to us. On top of that, they didn’t charge us for our stay. The staff here truly understand how to make guests feel well cared for. We will be returning for more delicious coconut milkshakes and fresh juices in hammocks so soon!

Good size portion meals for decent price. The drinks are ok. The service is very good. Didn't stay but they have a nice glamping tents almost right in the beach.

This is the best place to eat in Canoa. The atmosphere can not be beat and the food is very good. If you get the right table you can have dinner while watching the sun set. I always eat here when in Canoa.

Canoa is a perfect small beach town in the middle of no where. Pure and perfect ocean, fresh fruits, a nature lover's paradise. Internet is harder to find, and this place has all the above plus good internet. I love it! It is family owned and the owner is a sweet Dutch man. There is surf right in front, the place has great traditional Manabi Ecuadorian cuisine, as well as the best bolon (the most popular breakfast of the coast) of Canoa! Good coffee, cocktails, specially their caipirinhas and the bamboo cocktail.
