Rondador Cotopaxi

Had a very enjoyable lunch here for such great value. The food was fresh and delicious. They have a small farm with alpacas, ducks, and dogs, too. A great spot!

Amazing place! It’s filled with fresh flowers and loads of lovely touches. Great view of Cotopaxi and there’s llamas and ducks out in the garden you can feed. Fernando and his team are so helpful and organised some great tours for us hiking up the volcano and horse riding. Would recommend the pancakes for breakfast!

Fantastic place to stay and eat while you explore the wonderful Cotopaxi area.

The rooms are clean and well appointed and the whole property just exudes charm.

There are lamas, dogs, ducks and roosters outside which are friendly and provide entertainment for adults and children alike.

The restaurant serves delicious food all day.

We arranged a tour and horseback ride through the lodge and everything was perfect and seamless.

The fresh roses in the rooms and throughout the property is also a very classy and welcoming touch.

Loved staying here with my husband for a few days! The hospitality of Fernando and his team was amazing! Felt welcome from the very first minute. Food was delicious and plentiful! The room was lovely, cosy and had a little heating. If it’s not cloudy, you have great views on the Cotopaxi. Can also recommend the tours they offer! Had a beautiful time exploring the national park! Highly recommend!

It was a very cozy hotel with beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms, a hot shared shower and great food! Especially the breakfast was great and the owner was very friendly, inviting us for a new year celebration.

Service is adorable, the place is clean, the food very good and you can stay there and watch the animals outside and in the background the Cotopaxi vulcano. Just great! 😀

We stopped by here during our Cotopaxi tour for lunch and it was pretty good. The view is nice you get a nice view of Cotopaxi, the food is cheap and pretty descent, they accept credit card. The bonus is the animals you can play with.

Best hostal we've stayed in in Ecuador. Fernando and his wife were incredibly helpful and the food was amazing. Great location to explore cotopaxi and a beautiful cozy hostel.

We ate at this restaurant as part of a Cotapaxi tour. Look at the llamas!! Food was pretty good. We got to feed the llamas carrots. Was a very very cool place to eat.

I loved my stay at Rondador Cotopaxi! The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, answering all questions and making sure my husband and I were comfortable. We were able to arrange a tour through the hotel to bike down Cotopaxi (highly recommended, but not for the faint of heart). The setting was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, and the llamas an added bonus. The (free!) breakfast was my favorite in all of Ecuador and the rest of the food reasonably priced and delicious. I also loved the cozy fireplace during the chilly evenings. I highly recommend staying here. It was perfect.

Fernando is a super host. He will help you with everything you need and goes extra miles, for example, he arranged his staff to pick us up and helped us to carry out bags from the public bus drop off, suggested the activities we can do at the surroundings and at the Cotopaxi. The room is cozy, warm, with traditional local vibes which I really like it. The foods are extremely good. Never forget all the animals (llamas, dogs, ducks..)

We just did one of the day trips organized by the hostel to Cotopaxi and it was incredible. The volcano is active but we were able to hike up to the glacier and then ride horses in the highlands. And the hostel stay was amazing as well, Fernando is awesome and he takes care of everyone so well. The food is amazing and the spiced wine is 10/10.

Very nice and cozy place to stay. We liked the way the place was decorated, it had a wooden cabin vibe to it. The owners are very kind. They picked us up from the main road and helped us plan our time in the national park. They have a restaurant with good and reasonably priced food. They also have a fireplace, bikes for rent, lamas you can feed in the back yard and very cute dogs. The included breakfast was great as well! Very recommended.

Nice play near Cotopaxi. Comfortable, good food, and easy to arrange tours to park from here. We also met people who had kept luggage here to do Quilotoa Loop which was smart and better than keeping in unattractive and massive Latacanga in my view.

I highly recommend staying a few nights in this place. The food was the best we had in Equador and had a ton of veggies. It was also very affordable. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and did all they could to make us have a great stay. We were able to feed the llamas and play with the friendly dogs. They also had a cozy fireplace that we enjoyed every night.

Absolutely great stay! Fernando was such a great host, helping us with anything we needed. They have llamas, dogs, and ducks on the property, making it such a farm like environment with a beautiful view, having Cotopaxi volcano in plain sight. The room was very cozy and clean. Their restaurant's food was delicious and very well priced. They offer any tour you can think of as well. It is right off a main road, so you can hear cars driving by, but they are few and far between since it's such a remote area. Would definitely come back to stay here!

Thank you Fernando, Jenny, Francisco, Irma, Paul and rest of team we didn’t get to meet for a wonderful stay! Family-owned and operated charming little hotel with the best locro de papas! Fresh roses every day, spectacular view of Cotopaxi (weather permitting), cute llamas, delicious cuisine and the kindness of a family that loves taking care of guests- need I say more? Stay here (or at least try Jenny’s food 🤤💯)
