What an impressive ruins! They are still quite in tact and are great to wander through and explore.

In the winter, the info centre is not open, but you can still walk up to and around the castle.

There are great coastal views and you are actually quite high up!

There are information signs around, so you do learn a bit. Enjoy the many view points and benches where you can sit to take it all in.

There are a number of sections fenced off at the moment, but everything is still very accessible.

I really enjoyed exploring this area!

We went here during the sunset in February and it was very beautiful. The ruins are cool and the view from the hill is gorgeous. You can get here by bus but you will have to wait a long time if you want to go back on the next bus.

The castle is very big and totally open air, you can walk around the ruins and go in and out of the ancient rooms. Kids had lots of fun running around, exploring passages and climbing stairs of half preserved towers! Very nice experience for the whole family!

Over 800 years of pure history for this ruins of a castle that is located nicely with a wonderful view. It is free and well maintained. The pictures would never give you the full impression of what it looks like. Just have to be there.

Hammerhus... place worth visiting. Take the walk around, too. You will find the beautiful sea side spot... good parking place close by, but the tickets machines for parking are driving people crazy... even Danish one ;-)

This was a highlight of our holiday and definitely worth a visit. The museum was well done and helped to explain the history of the castle. In addition, we actually loved the gift shop (pottery and great books about Bornholm).
The ruins themselves were magnificent. Seeing them up close and getting a better sense of their scale was so worthwhile. We enjoyed walking around and constantly being in awe of what they built so long ago. And of course, the view is beautiful as well, overlooking the sea.

It is an amazing piece of danish history and culture, and it is definitely a must visit place in bornholm. The ruins itself is a must-see, but with the signs both up in the ruins and in the visit centre itself makes it a possibility for both danish and foreign people to learn and read about the historical value of hammershus

The top tourist spot on Bornholm. The old castle ruins that still partially stand after 700+ years. A lot of parking spots, cost 40kr so very cheap. 5 min walk from parking spots sit the visiter Center that has toilets, gift shop, a cafe etc and overlooks the ruins. No entrance fee, and even with a lot of people it doesn’t feel crowded. A nice walk up to the ruins and then you can just stroll around.

WOW! Such a beautiful place to visit. If you have kids and if you are danish you can download an app with a scavenger hunt which will keep the kids entertained while you walk around. You can bring your own food or eat something at the cafe after you have strolled around the place. It’s a must-see if you ask me. So much history and so much to learn of you want.

Our visit to Hammershus Castle ruins was nothing short of enchanting. With two dear friends and my lovely wife by my side, we lucked out with the most idyllic September weather - sunshine and clear skies. The added bonus? We practically had the place to ourselves, thanks to the off-peak season.

The castle ruins exuded an undeniable sense of history, transporting us to a bygone era. While we didn't uncover any hidden treasures, the experience itself was a treasure trove of memories.

Kudos to Google Maps for being our reliable guide to this historical gem. A five-star rating is well-deserved! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 #HistoricalWonders #HammershusHideaway

Amazing view.
One side it is ocean blue and on the other hand it is a dark forest and in between the Hammershus is located.
Must visit

Hammerhus Castle ruins were absolutely incredible! The beauty of the ancient remnants was truly awe-inspiring. However, during my visit, there was some ongoing construction work, which slightly affected the overall experience. Additionally, the winds were quite strong, which added to the dramatic atmosphere but made exploring a bit challenging. Nonetheless, the historical significance and stunning views made it a memorable visit despite the minor inconveniences.

there's a beautiful path from the castle ruins to the nearby haven (direction of the opal lake) along the seaside which I highly recommend!

Nice place to see. Nice view and ruins also looks interesting. Recommend to add this to your list when visit Bornholm. Only parking and minimum 6 h parking is a bit of scam.

This place is beautiful and the entry is free of charge. Don't forget to take some coat or blouse as it's so windy here.
Landscape is beautiful

Visited the site in the evening during the sunset. Scenery was perfect and beautifull. The ruins made a huge impact on me and the test of family.

Very nice place in Bornholm. Parking 30 DKK per day. Google takes to some closed road, so fallow the signs for parking. Entrance free of charge. All the information is in Danish language, so please read about it before. Only ruins and the nature (no museum) and lovely coffee place with unforgettable view.
