Hotel Restaurant Waldmann

This is our second time staying in Schwangau to see the castles. What a beautiful location! We stayed in a family apartment with our two children at Hotel Waldmann. The rooms were clean and a great size for a family of 4. AMAZING views of the castle from our porch. We had dinner and breakfast there too. Food and service were fantastic. We brought a car with us and parking was always available and easy. We will most definitely book again!

I am the publisher of digital travel guides for VoiceMap.me, and traveled to Schwangau on research to assess the production of travel guides for the area. I chose a hotel randomly on the internet, based on location, and what reviews they had on TripAdvisor. Hotel Waldmann was really a positive surprise. Very personal and pleasant atmosphere, where the Waldmann family really take care of their guests. Good location, good food and good rooms - I'll be back!

great location, looks newly renovated (if not, then it's perfectly maintained). The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was generous and delicious.

Very large, clean and cozy rooms-mine had a very big balcony as well with a great view. Excellent restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner. The staff was very helpful and friendly in assisting before and during stay. They even dropped me at the train station upon checkout when buses/taxis failed. The location was very close to the castle...I even walked one morning about 20-30 mins. Highly recommended based on my recent experience there.

The location of this hotel is perfect for the castles AND Fussen! Especially if you are renting a car, if not, they had a ton of rental bikes you could use!
Staff were super friendly and accommodating (i was going to be late to check in so I emailed them and they promptly replied), parking was on site and no issue at all!
Rooms were clean, breakfast nice/typical of German breakfast but added on cooked eggs of your choice. No air-conditioning that I was aware of but our windows on 2nd floor (tech 3rd) were notably large unlike other locations.
They have a vending machine with alcohol for 6 euros (white wine and etc) if needed as things in the area don't stay open extremely late - this is much appreciated for a night cap if needed!

Our whole family extremely enjoyed our stay here! The room was wonderful, with 2 twin beds in a separate room for the kids and a queen bed in the main room. The staff were extremely kind and the breakfast was amazing.

This is a nice hotel, clean and comfortable - our room had a lovely view of one of the castles.
It is a bit of a walk away from the castles and town, there is a free bus, though it stops at 8pm, but this means it's nice and quiet on a night.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is sufficient.

Room not too big but comfortable. No airco or ventilator but all windows have netting against bugs. Frige in the room. Nice restaurant too. Cools down nicely in the evening. Staff very friendly and helpful. Recommendable place to stay.

We absolutely loved our short stay at Hotel Waldmann. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful and provided us with recommendations and information on how to get tickets to tour the castles. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. We had a small deck off our room and we had a great view of Neuschwanstein Castle. Parking was free and right outside the hotel. Although we did not eat at the hotel, they do have a restaurant and you can also choose to include breakfast with your accommodations. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean, comfortable, with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The location was awesome with views of the castle which was within walking distance. Fussen very nice town with friendly people. Would have no problem returning to this hotel and area.

I recently stayed at a hotel near Neuschwanstein Castle and overall, I had a pleasant experience. The staff was accommodating and friendly, making check-in and check-out easy and hassle-free. However, one thing to note is that the hotel does not have an elevator, so guests will have to climb stairs to get to their room. Despite this, the rooms were clean and felt safe. The hotel also offers free parking, which is a great bonus.

One downside was that the room was a little chilly, even though I cranked the heat all the way up. However, this was not a major issue and did not detract too much from my stay.

There is a restaurant on the first floor of the hotel, which was convenient for grabbing a bite to eat. If I’m not mistaken it closes at 8pm. The location of the hotel is beautiful. It's around a one-hour walking distance to the castle, or a five-minute drive to the parking lot and a 20-minute hike to the castle.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. The accommodating staff, clean rooms, and free parking make it a great choice for travelers looking for a comfortable stay in a beautiful area.

Beautiful, family-operated accommodation. The view of the castles was spectacular to enjoy. Everyone was very friendly. Breakfast had a nice spread of options. They also had better soaps/shampoo compared to other places we’ve stayed. We would definitely stay here again.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated in the perfect spot for sightseeing, and the view is beautiful! Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very kind. Loved saying hello to the pet rabbits in the backyard. We would absolutely stay again!

This hotel is in the perfect location! Just a short drive or about a 20 minute walk to the castles. All of the employees were very kind. The food was delicious. We especially loved the beautiful dining room with views of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

Super friendly staff and great location. The room itself was clean if a bit dated. Dinner on site was very good - I highly recommend the Potato Pancakes. Located a short 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the nearby Castles.

Hotel with familiar atmosphere, very pleasant, reception as well! It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect (with view of the 2 castles of the city), has a very nice area of breakfast/restaurant, with parking and, as we were driving, it was very easy and close to get to the castles (2 to 3 minutes). The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable... The floor of our room was a little strange, in L. Each bed is in a separate room (one of them was a sofa-bed, but very comfortable). It had fridge, heating and a wonderful bathroom (large and very comfortable). Breakfast very well served, with coffee, hot chocolate and eggs brought straight to the table and a full buffet! The dinner served at the hotel is very good and the price is less than or equal to other restaurants in the area! Mark is very friendly, gave us lots of information, gave the possibility to choose the room and helped us up with our bags (there is no lift)! Super recommend it and would love to stay there again!

Wonderful hotel! Within sight of both castles, quiet, comfortable, clean! Nice breakfast. Room was spacious, bathroom was huge and again it was CLEAN! And the final touch for an American visitor was the beer vending machine! Will visit again!
