Hotel-Café Adler

We only tried the cafe and our experience was positive. We tried the Black Forest cake and it was the best we had in this region. Big portions so 2 people can share. The coffee was also good. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Very nice hotel with updated and remodeled rooms. We only stayed one night but the woman who helped us was very nice even though we did not speak much German we still felt welcomed. The breakfast was nice as well. Great location and walking distance to the waterfall.

We ordered 2 cake slices to takeaway. The Black Forest and a Cheesecake. The slices were of a good size and we thoroughly enjoyed both.

Bring cash unless your transaction is over €15. I’d definitely like to try more of their cakes 🤤

Stopped here for excellent cake. Came in for black forest gateau, but then I saw all the other cakes. Spent 5mins being indecisive, but opted for a slice of the vanilla apple cake too. Great hot chocolate as well. Nice seating inside. Has a private garden at back, sit there if weather is good as the cage backs onto a historic building.

We first visited the world’s biggest and first Cuckoo Clock and there we asked for the best Place to try Black Forest Cake. We were suggested Cafe Adler and I must say, it was worth it. Really tasty Black Forest Cake. The Cafe’s Owner is a very down to earth Person and also the Staff. I would recommend everyone to try their Black Forest Cake.

We didn’t actually stay at the hotel but came for breakfast. We had such a lovely breakfast. The waitress was absolutely astonishing. So very sweet and thoughtful. Made our two little girls feel so special. She went out of her way to make our breakfast so enjoyable. If the rest of the facility is anything like it then you won’t regret it one bit.

Lovely place, very clean and modern rooms with a cute and quaint cafe downstairs. The people are very welcoming and friendly. And the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte is a must-have!

We were in the Black Forest (Schwartzwald). So having the Black Forest cake that has made this place so famous the world over was an absolute must do. We were recommended this place Cafe Adler for the Black Forest cake by the person who mans the waterfall gate in Triberg. The staff took proper covid safety measures. The Black Forest cake lived up to the hyped expectations. The kirschwasser (cherry liqueur) flavour was pretty strong, the icing and base were both fluffy and so light. Not too sweet. Totally worth the visit. The hot chocolate was good, especially after a long trek on that cold day.
But if you are hungry and want lunch, this is not the place. They don't serve meal food like sandwich, pasta, pizza etc. Only sweet things like cakes, pies etc.

This place is an absolute treasure! Everyone is super kind, room is very specious and clean. Staff is extremely accommodating, breakfast is delicious. Location is amazing- just under the waterfall, close to shops. Highly recommended!

Very pleasant experience, even though it was late they took a last minute booking for that night. Rooms are great, only issue was pillows were flat. Breakfast very nice and plenty of it.

I visited the Cafe to Taste the Original Black Forest Cake

The experience I have in Adler is Black Forest cake. The cherry inside look so fresh because it look like not marinated so long. I ate 3 different places Black Forest cake I whole schwarzeald area. This is my favorite. The cake is moisture with wine flavor. Very recommended.

Beautiful hotel, really charismatic with a lot of history. It was clean and the people were nice! Breakfast went a little wrong but that was more of our fault. And they felt really bad about it and helped us to get it fixed. Breakfast tasted great!

Atmosphere is very vintage and comfortable place to relax after walking. Their cake is delicious and best I’ve had. Customer service is excellent. Awesome espresso!

Delicious Black Forest Cake! Large slice to share and not overly sweet. Perfect for a mid afternoon sweet.

I went in here purely for the original Schwarzwald kirschetorte, and it was unbelievable!!🤩🤩🤩 An absolutely gorgeous and cute place to enjoy a meal, with really polite service. A must visit for anyone travelling across the black forest.

We stopped here for some gateau and it was very nice. Great service too!

My wife and I stayed here during a trip to the Black Forest area and our stay was great. I believe the lady named Katherina I think, was very very friendly, and their breakfast in the mornings was "Wonderbar"!!! I thank them for making the beginning of our two week trip around Germany a wonderful time. Thanks... Todd and Barb...
