Fantastic location with plenty of enjoyable activities, especially geared towards children. The abundance of animals is apparent, and their well-being is clearly a priority. Whether you prefer leisurely walks to observe the animals, gentle interactions with them, or a stroll around the park soaking up sunlight, there's a variety of options. Additionally, amenities like gondola boat rides and delicious waffles contribute to the overall delightful experience. The reasonable pricing for the diverse activities makes it a worthwhile visit!

What a magnificent place. The most impressive animals for me were the bats. You can stand in the middle of them and they fly around you without touching you. That was epic.
There was a lovely red headed cockatoo who flew straight at us and chatted to us for a long time so charming.

A very relaxing and interesting place to visit or just walk around. It might not be the biggest zoo but it is quite modern and most of the animals can be seen. There are restaurants and stalls that sell snacks. They have a kids playground and some boats to ride on the lake with. Lots of green spaces for families to play on.

Family favorite zoo in Baden-Württemberg! Excellent public outreach via moderated animal feedings and information booths, animals on display are kept in spacious enclosures and well-treated. Park area is great for relaxing, picknicking, playing chess, running about, etc. Entrance is directly across the road from Karlsruhe train station so easily accessible and just a train ride away from wherever you are!

I've been here once during the summer time and once during the winter time.
Both times were nice. The staff at the entrance was very friendly.
The Zoo is set up nicely. You can tell there's been great care taken in the planning and with the upkeep of the zoo.
Just by looking at the map of the zoo, it's easy to figure out where you are and how to get to where you want to go.

I personally love the penguins and the bat exhibit.

The experience was great. Lots of different animals, there are some goats in the beginning who you can stroke, beautiful green park. There's also a possibility to take a boat ride (the boats have roofs, so you won't be exposed to the sun). Some playgrounds for kids at different spots of the park also some other activities like train rides etc. Took us around 2 hours to walk through everything. Overall a great experience, my kid (almost 3 y.o.) loved it :)

Nice combination of park and zoo. Nice to wander or even make a 20/40 min boat tour in the Gondoletta. Entrancefee is just 13 euro. Boat tour and minicars cost extra. The lay out of the park is lovely and well maintained.

It's a pearl in an already amazing city! The animals look fantastic (photos not on my mobile at the moment), but the gardens are also wonderful. It's so nice watching all the locals and the tourists enjoy the sun, shade or just the calmness and beauty around them! I loved it, the entrance fee (13 euros, I believe) is also very reasonable and you can easily spend a whole day here. There are also lots of places where you can grab something to drink or to eat, like an ice-cream, and plenty of WC, which were very clean.
Highly recommended!

Superbly organized and maintained zoo. Recommended times to visit during summer or spring time. As the lakes are not filled with water, which fulfills the view with greenery and birds all around, summer is best time. Went there during december though. Some of my best picks are here. Will add some more pictures when i edit.

We loved our visit to the Zoological Gardens Karlsruhe. The animal shows were a lot of fun. During the sea lion show the largest sea lion jumps almost all of the way out of the water to grab a fish from the zoo keeper. All of the animals looked well kept and had spacious enclosures. We especially liked watching the Red Panda. The Zoo also has a nice sized pond that you can ride a boat on and several beautiful gardens. We parked at the Congress-Zentrum park house which is only a couple minutes away from the zoo entrance.

Such a lovely park! I expected much less than what I got and was super pleasantly surprised! The place is made more like a garden with flowers, lakes where you can ride on a paddle boat, or sit on the grass and enjoy the weather, than an animal exposition. There are a lot of animals however and their habitats are created with a lot of attention to detail and care for the animals. There's also a petting zoo. Definitely worth the 12 euro and 4 hours of your time, if not a whole day!

I definitely enjoyed my time the zoopart is quite modern with a walkable Australian path where kangaroos hope around. An exotic animal house where some of the smaller monkeys will run free. Apart from the zoo there is also a small lake with guided boots, an Japanese garden it a very relaxing atmosphere. I paid 14 euros for basically a ticket for the whole day. In general if you visit Karlsruhe you really should visit this Park/Zoo.

There was beautiful scenery with various animals. The entrance and the exit were tricky. You can’t use the entrance as the exit. The animals were slightly stinky, but the staff was washing them. It was my second time being at the zoo in Germany. But I’m sure this place is more organized and better than the one in Heidelberg. Before entering here, I felt the price was a bit high. Nevertheless, after I exited, I thought it was acceptable.

A nice zoo with very well taken care of animals- except the lion we felt that it’s cage is too small and as another reviewer said it looked depressed. Great for children and adults. My favorite animals to see are the red pandas, giraffes, papgei’s (parrots), and fennec foxes- definitely visit them when you come to this zoo!
