Hotel Schwarzer Adler

My stay at Hotel Schwarzer Adler was super! It was cozy and calm, the facilities especially the heating system works great👍. The workers are warm people, so also the restaurant in the hotel has nice meals. My friends and I felt so comfortable we have no complaints. 😃

I'm too lazy to review as many places as I should, but this experience was so perfect that I had to post. The staff was excellent - addressed me by first name throughout the stay, and were spot on with food and attraction recommendations (night watchman tour!). The room was great, in a great locations just blocks from the museums and town square. They even had a fridge in the lobby for a late night beer or wine after the town shut down at around 9PM. Great location, great breakfast, and overall great place!

I'm glad I saw the tip to park at the P5 paid lot right outside the wall - it was about a 5 minute walk to the hotel from there and very convenient.

We had a late night check in and the process was very easy and safe. The room was just what we needed go get rest after a long day walking around and eating in the old town.

For the price it was ok, bed comfortable, shower ok, room adequate. Curry next door is excellent worth a visit, don't expect UK type food, rice lovely.

What a wonderful hotel. I arrived late, but they allowed me to do a very easy late check-in. Then, the next morning the ambience was extremely homely and welcoming. Breakfast was impressive and the good vibes were everywhere. I was very happy with the experience. Unfortunately I only spent one night there, but I’ll surely be back next time I’m in Rothenburg.

Let me get this out of the way - it is a simple hotel. There is no A/C (at least in the room we occupied), no elevator and the room has no amenities other than a TV. There is no parking at the hotel but the lot outside of the walls is pretty close - you can stop your car for a while to get the baggage out and then park for as many days as you need.
However - it is reasonably priced, it is very well located and most of all the staff (actually I believe the couple are the owners or managers) is very helpful and attentive. Breakfast is a good deal for 9.50 euro. It is in an old building, but even so the room has good windows and it was very clean when we arrived.

In July we spent 4 night in Rothenburg and even though the town and surrounding area are beautiful, our stay at Hotel Schwarzer Adler made our trip that much more amazing! The young couple running the hotel were very friendly and helpful if we had any requests or questions. The room was large and although not modern (which we didn't mind considering it's located in the center of old town), it was clean and very comfortable. A highlight was the buffet still breakfast with fresh breads from the bakery down the street. We will definitely visit again in the future and we recommend this hotel to anyone that is considering a trip to Bavaria.

l had a very good time at Adler, in a nice settings within the city wall. The environment was quiet, the bed was very comfortable (with memory foam?) and the service was very polite and friendly.
First class to me, l was very satisfied.

I spent only one night at the Hotel Schwarzer Adler and I had a great experience. The hotel location is excellent inside the city wall, the room was very clean, comfortable bed and very good shower. The staff are super friendly and helpful with recommendations of things to do and where to eat. I really recommend this hotel if you are visiting Rothenburg, you will have a great experience!

Very charming hotel with perfect location in the town center. Kind and caring staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast. I’ve just seen some old comments about bed bugs but there was no clue of such during our stay, so I guess it’s an old and solved issue. Highly recommended :)

Stayed one night here, the location was excellent! The people who work here are very friendly. Our room had a lovely view out the window which I enjoyed!

Perfect little hotel and that has been able to keep its old world charm. Staff is great and accommodating, very friendly. Great history here. Coffe is great too.

Very good service, above what is expected for this hotel category. Clementia and Marko are very professional and friendly hosts. Breakfast buffet is huge and worth to have it at the hotel.

Fantastic location, outstanding breakfest, very helpful staff. The only drawback was that the wall between rooms was not very much soundproof and we could hear the conversation of our neighbours.

Situated inside the walls of the town, but in a nice quiet road a 2 minute walk to the main square etc. Friendly helpful staff and a decent room, reasonable breakfast made for a very nice time!

Great place to stay in the historic center of Rothenburg. The service was excellent and very friendly wich let you feel like a special guest.

Small but cosy and friendly staff. Be warned, though, that there's no elevator and quite a few stairs, depending on which room you get.
