The visit to these palaces was very relaxing. I visited them during the summer and the fact that it is located near a lake is fascinating.
You can go for a bike ride in the park, enjoy a picnic why not even swim in the water of the lake

My favorite park in Potsdam so far. Such a great landscape with greens and blues. Right next to the park is a lake. Along the path you will find many things to see. Dutch Establishment, Pyramid, Marble Palace, an elephant-shaped tree, Cecilienhof and a great brewery. Enjoy your walk or relaxation here :)

Incredibly spacious and beautiful park. In this place I first time encountered the fact that I stopped and looked simply at the space in front of me. There was nothing but bushes, trees and grass, but this empty zone seemed spacious, well-groomed and fresh(this park was designed by knowledgeable people). There are several historical sights in the park as the Marble Palace and Cecilienhof Palace. I highly recommend visiting both the park itself and its attractions.

The atmosphere is great. It is a big park. Quiet. There is a large lake that can swim clear and clean. Traveling can be accessed in many ways, either by walking, driving a car, cycling or by bus.

Lots to see here within walking distance of the city centre. Most famous is the Cicilienhof, where the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945. The Gardens are pretty and peaceful, there is amongst others also the Marmor Palace, and the Alte Meierei (Restaurant, Bar, Brewery) on the edge of the lake and its a short walk to Glienicke and Babelsberg Palaces and the infamous Glienicke Bridge

A true hidden gem, a place I adore - far away from the touristic and sometimes crowded city centre, this marvellous park is an oasis of beauty and tranquility! Untainted nature topped with majestic palaces (Cecilienhof, Marmorpalais), only a few minutes walk away from the amazing Pfingstberg... priceless!

the "New Garden" (Neuer Garten in German), a beautiful park located in Potsdam, Germany. The New Garden is a significant historical and cultural site that offers both natural beauty and architectural wonders. Here's an overview of the New Garden in Potsdam:

Historical Background:
The New Garden was created during the late 18th century, primarily during the reign of Frederick William II of Prussia. It was designed to serve as a complement to the nearby Sanssouci Park and was intended as a place of leisure and relaxation for the Prussian royal family.

Design and Features:
The park covers an area of approximately 102.5 hectares (253 acres) and is characterized by its picturesque landscapes, meadows, woodlands, and numerous lakes. It's situated on the western shore of Lake Heiliger See and offers stunning views of the surrounding water bodies and lush greenery.

Within the New Garden, you can find various notable landmarks and architectural features, including:

Marmorpalais (Marble Palace): This palace, designed by Carl von Gontard, is one of the most prominent structures in the New Garden. It is a neoclassical palace made of white Carrara marble and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. It was once a royal residence and is known for its elegant architecture.

Schloss Cecilienhof (Cecilienhof Palace): Cecilienhof, also mentioned in the previous response, is located on the northern edge of the New Garden. It's famous for hosting the Potsdam Conference in 1945.

Chinese House: This ornate pagoda-style building was built as a garden pavilion in the 18th century and adds an exotic touch to the park's landscape.

Römische Bäder (Roman Baths): These historic Roman-style baths are located near Lake Heiliger See and are an architectural highlight within the New Garden.

Orangerie Palace: Although technically outside the boundaries of the New Garden, the Orangerie Palace is located nearby and is also associated with the park. It houses a magnificent collection of art and serves as an additional attraction for visitors.

Today:
The New Garden continues to be a popular destination for both locals and tourists. It offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and is a place where visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, picnics, and the beauty of nature. The architectural gems within the park provide glimpses into the royal history of Prussia, making it an enriching cultural and historical experience.

The New Garden in Potsdam is not only a testament to the artistic and architectural achievements of its time but also a reminder of the rich history and culture of the region. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or simply enjoying the outdoors, the New Garden is a must-visit destination in Potsdam.
