Perhaps the most beautiful museum in this part of Germany!

With one of the greatest Monet exhibits worldwide, I strongly recommend you come at 9:00 or at least before 10:30 and enjoy the place all to yourself.

The Museum Barberini in Potsdam provides a rich tapestry of artistic exploration, seamlessly weaving together both temporary and permanent exhibitions. The temporary showcase of Edvard Munch's works offers a unique glimpse into the artist's repertoire, unveiling many lesser-known pieces that add depth to his renowned portfolio.

Moreover, the permanent collection, owned by Hasso Plattner, presents a treasure trove for impressionism enthusiasts, particularly those enamored with the works of Monet. Plattner's collection not only celebrates the mastery of Monet but also offers a captivating journey through the broader landscape of impressionist art.

With its diverse offerings and rich insights into both established and emerging artistic talents, the Museum Barberini stands as a beacon for cultural exploration in Potsdam, beckoning visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty and creativity of the human spirit.

The collection is amazing, so many different impressionist artists from different European countries, a lot of Claude Monet. Got a chance to also visit a temporary exhibition of Dutch Impressionism which was really well organised.

If you're interested in Impressionist painting, this museum will be heaven on earth for you. With famous pieces from great artists such as Monet, Renoir, Pissaro, Caillebotte and many more, the museum's collection is breathtaking. It's possible to download the museum's app and listen to the audio guide in it.

10/0. A little off the beaten path but so beautiful. No WC here so plan accordingly. Pay to park, there was barely anyone there when we went.

Wonderful museum with a fantastic permanent exhibit of Impressionistic art. I went during the Sonne exhibit and went through both that and the Impressionists exhibit in about 3 hours. Lovely for a visit without being exhausting.

Very big collection of Monet and Pissarro. The focus is on impressionism and pointillism. Well organized museum. I found the ticket pricy, but happy I went in
The building itself got almost entirely rebuild after the 1945 bombings. Quite impressive, given apart from the façade most got destroyed to the ground.

What's not to like. The biggest collection of impressionist paintings in Europe outside of Paris.

Even if you are not a great fan of impressionist art this collection deserves a visit.

We went during the surrealism and magic temporary exhibition, which was REALLY well curated. The permanent collection is also really nice and has notable artists like Monet. I wish they offered an English tour, though the audio guide app is a great addition.

In 2017, Potsdam's Museum Barberini, an art gallery, first opened its doors. The focus of its displays, which span from the so-called Old Masters to modern art, is on impressionist painting. There are so many artists, including Monet which I admire. It was a fantastic to see Monet's artworks in such close proximity.I was reluctant to leave. The artworks are well-positioned and have excellent lighting. The Barberini Museum is a must-see attraction. The structure is pleasantly big, bright, and airy. Wheelchair users are permitted to borrow wheelchairs, ideally in advance.
From the Hasso Plattner Collection, you may admire impressionist pieces on loan from New York, Paris, and Venice.

Worth visiting a couple of times a year. Very good collection and the best work of curation!

The building itself is also a historical landmark. A must visit for art and architecture lovers.

A visit to the Barberini Museum is absolutely worth it. The building is light, airy, architecturally very spacious and pleasant. There are lockers on the lower floor and a well-organized cloakroom on the ground floor. Wheelchair users can borrow a wheelchair, preferably with prior notice. The staff are all very friendly.
Impressionist works on loan from New York, Paris and Venice can be seen here from the Hasso Plattner Collection. Although the Museum Barberini was very well attended on the first day of the exhibition "Photography and Impressionism.
A New Art", I had the impression that I could study my personal highlights in a quiet place. The exhibition will run until 08 May 2022, with about 150 photographs by Pictorialists on exhibition. A must for all creative people. Here are some impressions from my perspective.

Love it. I've been twice already for different expositions and it's always been worthy. The staff is friendly and the presentations are great, if you want to know a bit more about what you're seeing.

I personally did not particularly enjoy the modern/abstract exposition on the lower floors but that's subjective of course.
The main Impressionist exhibit was AMAZING. So many Monets and a lot of other artists. I went around the whole floor twice and did not want to leave. The lighting and positions of the paintings are very good.

A lovely building at the heart of beautiful Potsdam. Exquisite works of art, hung and curated with real care. I also enjoyed the informative texts next to many of the paintings, giving context and background to the artists in their time, approach and developments.
