I have been here three times and I find it such a beautiful peaceful spot and to be able to see the huge back wall still standing and other parts of the foundation in the area is fascinating and of course to stand and look out at the amazing view that was seen back then through the 90 pane window, is the best. A part of history that fascinated me. Worth visiting as it's really beautiful among the trees and there are various paths.

AH spent more than third of his time in power in the Berghof. A British air raid hit the building in 1945 then the SS put it on fire and finally in 1952 it was blown up. Not to be mixed with Eagle’s Nest which remained in good conditon. Interesting to see the site if you know and care about history. Easy to get there from the Eagles Nest bus station - 2 min by car

The remains of the Berghof, offcourse there is more.. if you dive in to the subject.. have an interest in world war 2. But in this spot there is only the supporting wall of the Berghof and the spot where 'He' Used to look out of his famous window! Al of the balcony home video's are shot here as well! Quiet peacfull place, today! Moment of silence to all the victims!

Interesting yet sombre place given its history.

Still, the views and scenery are fantastic, especially during winter..

Even though there's no structure left, the tour guide did a great job of explaining what took place there.

Very sad to see the German authorities blowing up historical monuments just like the talibans 🐍

Such an eerie place, you can still see some of the structure. A must place to see if you are interested in the history around Berchtesgaden.

This is the bunker under Berghof. Picture taken from the bunker under Zum Turken. A little opening reveals the real Führerbunker. Its still there, just everything on top that's gone.

Need I say more regarding this spectacular place. A truly amazing place once perched here overlooking the magnificent mountains. The glory days and immense passion were emitted from the walls of this breathtaking structure. The feeling of standing here and absorbing its power is an overwhelming feeling of pride and sacrifice these men gave to a great nation.

So much history on this spot! It's a bit out of the way, but if you're going to the Eagles Nest or coming back from it make a pit stop here and take it in. There's not much left (obviously) but the number of famous people (and infamous) that have been here and the decisions made is well worth the walk.

very interesting if your interested in ww11 history. Fair old drive up a mountain to get there but you can get a feel of the past from the views & remains. Someone thoughtfully chopped back the trees that obscured the infamous view from where would of been the big window. The Turk hotel round the corner have opened the tunnels below to tourists & other exhibits are close by. Do some homework & research before you go so you'll be able to pick out key features from what remains.

Highly interesting to walk in the footsteps of some of histories most Infamous persons. The Berghof itself is almost completely gone, with even the historic view being obscured by trees planted after the war. Must see for everyone in the neighbourhood with an interest in history.

Walking in the footsteps of history. So many events and decisions made here by historical giants. Look at the period photos and stand in the same exact spot where HE met visitors to the Berghof, famous and infamous alike, during the 1930's.
Little of the physical building remains, but the authorities cannot take away the very essence, the aura of this place, however many Laws they pass and buildings they bulldoze.
However, I did manage to find two pieces of marble from, I believe, the low wall that surrounded the outside terrace of the Berghof- once the most influential place in Europe.

A quiet spot now off the beaten track, when we visited there were very few people around.
Of course there is just the main retaining wall left but it is nonetheless interesting to see the scale of the building which once stood on the site. Beautiful views can be seen between the trees.
There is a (not too long) trail up a slope which you can follow from the Turken Hotel all the way to the Dokumentation Centre.

If you are already searching for information about visiting the ruins of the Berghof I feel no need to get into the historical or political implications concerning this site.
If you are traveling by car, then visiting is very easy. Simply set your phone or GPS to get you to the Hotel Zum Turken and you will easily find your way to the Berghof. There is plenty of room to park in the remains of the original driveway. There are no signs from the road, but there is a sign up top in the ruins. Please be respectful of the site and keep your voices low. This site means different things to different people. All should be respected. Since you are already navigating to the Hotel Zum Turken, why not book a couple nights there? It looks like a cozy place and has a terrific view. I believe the minimum booking is two nights with them.
I was alone at the site and found the views to be excellent. It was a peaceful place to reflect on some of my thoughts about WWII. If you've been thinking of visiting the site for whatever reason, I recommend you do. The whole area is also full of hiking and some very exciting driving opportunities!
