St. Mariä Empfängnis

There are many churches that I have been to. From the outside this is certainly among the most peculiar. It sits on Oststraße. This road, slowly winding but pretty narrow, has a whole parade of shops down it. You may just walk or drive straight past it the first time but once you have noticed it you will never forget its presence. It just seems to get bigger and bigger. It lurks over the entire street, in its majesty.

As you’ll see from the few pictures that I have taken the interior really is rather quite nice. An aura of divine light passes through the space in between. You cannot but feel humbled by the scale of it all. It seems very clean and very well tended to. A whole fraternity of Franciscans moved from their monastery to there and on top of their learning it looks as though they are doing a good job in keeping it tidy.

The whole building looks as though it has stood the test of time. It was however badly damaged by aerial bombardment in 1943. As far as I am aware, it wasn’t fully reconstructed until the mid 1980’s. Considering it was only built at the end of the 19th century it has spent a lot of downtime.

So, if you are very wondering past and wondering it is, take a sneak peak. You will not be disappointed.

Schöne kath. Kirche in der Düsseldorfer Altstadt

In St. Mariä Empfängnis (Marienkirche) ich gerne die Frühmesse um 6:45 Uhr: Es gibt nicht vniele andere Möglichkeiten in Düsseldorf, vor der Arbeit, dem Studium oder der täglichen Arbeit zur Heiligen Messe zu gehen.

Ich empfehle ihn wegen seiner Stille und Beschaulichkeit zum Gebet. Sie haben auch Tage mit der Aussetzung des Allerheiligsten Sakraments.

Die Franziskaner kümmern sich um den Gesang in der Liturgie und halten sehr gute Predigten.

Die Kirche ist aufgrund ihrer zentralen Lage und der guten Verkehrsanbindung und Erreichbarkeit mit dem Auto sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr schöne katholische Kirche, von innen sowie von aussen. Ich war hier in der Ostermesse, es war einfach nur wunderschön. Der Pastor der Gemeinde, ist sehr herzlich und nett. Die Predigt war einmalig. Ich bin sehr begeistert.

Schöner ruhiger Ort. Lädt zum Nachdenken ein.

Das Besondere: Heilige Messe jeden Werktag um 6:45. Ich komme immer wieder gerne zu dieser Werktagsmesse in dieser schönen Kirche, wenn ich auf einem Kongress in Düsseldorf bin. Wie gut, dass es diese Hl. Messe im Zentrum von Düsseldorf gibt. - Tut mir Leid mit Bruder Antonius, aber er wird euch vom Himmel aus helfen.🙋‍♂
