Fantastic bakery There was a long line outside when I visited on Saturday, but since there were multiple serving points, everything moved quickly.

The variety was amazing. Especially with bread. I didn't know which one to try first since they all looked so appetizing.

The employee (a young woman) was extremely pleasant. She was patient with me, smiled, gave her advice, and had no problem talking with me in English.

I tried two pastries and one bread. All good, but I have to say the apple pastry (photo included) was out of this world. Maybe the best apple pastry I've had in my life.

I will definitely come back when I'm in Düsseldorf.

Just happened to walk past this bakery and the selection of breads in the window display caught our eye. We reckoned the line outside was for lunch hour so we decided to come back a little later. Only to discover the line was longer 😆 But then you know for sure it's there for a reason, and it gives you time to decide what to get, which is extremely difficult with such a huge selection! And it is so, so worth the wait. I'd come back to Düsseldorf only for this bakery!

Ammmaaaazing pastries. Make sure you come early because they run out of pastries. They do not sell coffee here and we just ordered our pastries and ordered a coffee elsewhere. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are great. Very tasty and fresh.

This is what a good bakery should look like. They have a huge variety of products, ranging from sweet to savory, snack to meal. They cover the basic German breads but also spice it up with ones like a Pineapple and Curry loaf. The sweet options are plentiful too - slices, donuts and cakes. They sell items either whole or in halves, which is perfect of you're alone or a not-so-hungry pair. A perfect place to pick up a bite and head down to the river to enjoy. The line, especially on the weekend is very long, about 29 minutes, but definitely worth the wait! I wish I had more days in Düsseldorf.. I'd be there everyday trying every product!

Amazing fresh German bakery. The food is very nice. People were friendly and welcoming. The butter croissant has a phenomenal crust and the onion creamy cake was out of this world. Try to go as early as you can because it is always busy.
The location is central and have many amenities around. Have fun!

This is a real paradise for me. I love bread. Of course, I have not seen this bakery up close, but I hope to go there very soon. I want to be there for hours and just eat bread and talk about bread. Good luck my dear friends

Easily the best bakery in all of Düsseldorf. Very friendly staff, fair prices. Expect a queue though if you do not order online. Usually moves fast though. Waiting time is 5-10 minutes max.

Delicious Almonds!

Owner was very friendly and willing to sell me his roasted almonds slightly past closing time. When I asked to change to a jar after I paid, he gladly assisted!

Best bakery in town, for sure. Fresh everything, huge assortment. I've been here many times and have never come away disappointed. Friendly helpful staff that sometimes hands little kids fresh little sweet breads. Super busy on Saturday mornings, but for a good reason, and they compensate well with more staff. If I could give it a thousand stars, I would! Love, love, love.

They have 2 branches, with a lot of variety.
From bread to cakes and croissant and biscuits.
The staff are friendly and help you with explaining the ingredients in English.

A real Dusseldorf bakery for all. And this cookie taste is an art. But do not forget you dont find a table in this vbakery. You only buy and go. But if you are in Dusseldorf try there.

A lot of staff where they handled everything fast and good. Even though a lack of English, they helped us the best they could. Great assortment of bread and specialties. Couldn't be better imo, as the place was also kept really spotless despite a lot of display glass.

One word: delicious! I'm pretty picky with my baked goods; I figure if I'm going to be consuming that much butter and/or sugar, it better be good. Hinkel does not disappoint. If you go buy, do try the elsässer bread (with pistachios and hazelnuts) - I could put away an entire loaf in a day.
