Nice museum. Had an underground tour in English. Guide is knowledgeable. There's a bathroom

I took the underground mine guided tour. The tour was conducted in English and despite the guides apologies about her English, I understood her just fine. The guide went in to a lot of detail about the history of mining in Kutna Hora, the equipment used and the lives of the miners.

Then followed a tour down into what used to be one of the actual silver mines of Kutna Hora, back in it's heydays of mining. The safety precautions requires that we all wore hardhats with a light attached, plus overalls to protect our clothes. Personally I had a lot of fun going into the mines. The guide stops at points of interest and seeing the condition under which miners worked was very enlightening. At one point in the tour, everyone switched off their lights. In the pitch black, it made me really appreciate my office based jobs.

A really enjoyable tour.

I had an exceptional experience at the silver mine with the underground mine tour. The guides were truly remarkable and their knowledge about the mine was awe-inspiring. One guide, Renata, went above and beyond by taking my English-speaking boyfriend aside for a private lecture in English, ensuring he didn't miss out on any fascinating details. The attention to detail and personalized service made us feel valued and special. The entire tour was well-organized, informative, and engaging. From start to finish, everything was great, and we left with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the silver mining industry. Highly recommended!

This was totally awesome I did the mine tour and the museum, the mine is very interesting but not the place for claustrophobics, obese people(too small inside) or people w heart problems. Really nice tour guides, one of my most interesting experiences in czechia.

Offers regular tours of the silver mine accompanied by knowledgeable guides - not for the claustrophobic.

Amazing experience, with a kind and knowledgeable guide. When I arrived at the museum, the final tour of the day (in Czech, and I only speak English) had already begun 15 minutes earlier. Rather than turn me away, a guide at the office personally guided me through the mine in English, following behind the Czech group. She was incredibly knowledgeable and provided interesting facts about the mines and it's workers through the years. The tunnels stretch on for untold miles, honeycombing the earth. This is truly an experience to remember.

The staff there was very helpful. They guided us through our experience. Plus helped us book a cab when we were about to miss our last train back.

We took the silver mine tour on a hot summers day, which was perfect as the mines are cool. The maximum size of the group is 25 people, which really is streching it a bit. I would recommend booking in advance as no space may be available when you arrive to the museum. The guide will first tell you about the history of the mine in Kutná Hora and show you the various tools used for the job. You will receive a rather redicilous cloak and a hardtop helmet with a light attached and make your way to the old mine shafts. You will have to walk in all that gear about 250 m across the street to the amusement of locals and tourist. The mine is 30 m below ground which you will access via a metal staircase which seems to never end. The actual mine is very wet and can be slippery in places. I would recommend decent footwear. The lowest point is just 120cm high and 40cm wide (not the same spot). It is not for people who feel uncomfortable in tight places, it is not for larger people either. Its not the height as one can duck, its the width which really could be a problem for some. It was a lot of fun for us and we really enjoyed the experience. Must be great for kids too.

One of the highlights of my trip to Prague. You have two options, the above ground museum or the visit to the mine. The latter is the real deal. At the beginning and the end you'll see some exhibitions above ground and the guide explains how the processing of ores worked. In between you are taken to the mine which is awesome and lasts about 30-40 minutes. Our guide wasnt completely fluent in english but the presentation was good enough so we could grasp the information. Make sure to book a couple days before on their website especially in high season. Please dont go if you have trouble in small, dark, wet places. Put on water resistant shoes if possible. You have to pay 20 kc extra for a foreign language tour and 50 kc to take photos.

Amazing experience. The guide was great-he had deep knowlage and a lot of funny stories. Mining tunels were low, narrow and a bit scary but total experience is just great. I would say this mining tour is worth more than Wieliczka salt museum. Totaly reccomend!

Awesome place. People travelling to Kutná Hora must definitely try this museum. I really enjoyed the time i spent here. Its very informative and it gives a very good experience if it is your first time in a mine. They will take you to a real mine. I will never forget the time i sent in the mine.

Great tour of the mines. It's 1.5 hrs from start to finish. It is an appropriate length tour--everything is concise but informative. They also have English guides.

Going through the mine and the mining process was amazing. Walking through the mines is an experience no one should pass up. If you are a student you can get a discount. 😉

Did the tour into the mine, which was awesome. It is pretty cramped down there though (which make sense, it is a medieval mine after all!). Guide was excellent at explaining everything. Would certainly recommend.

Great tour about the history of Kutná Hora. Sadly we came off-season and the silver mine was being renovated so we did not get to see it. And we heard great things about it.

The guide took us to the medieval silver mines and told us stories about mining. We went 3o meters down to the narrow and wet mines. The guide spoke english. She was friendly, humoristic and answered all of our questions. Definetely worth the visit.

The mine tour (II) is a must see in the town of Kutna Hora. It goes deep underground and the tour guide gives an excellent overview of what it was like to work in the deep, dark shafts of a medieval mine.

The tour of the mine is amazing. I have done it 4 times already and everytime my friends visit, I take them there.
