Starfish Cayo Guillermo

This place is a hidden gem, The staff is all fantastic, the guests are great!! Food was great!! The staff at starfish go beyond for there guests. The entertainment team go beyond. Different shows daily/nightly. Kids are always entertained as well as adults. I highly recommend going to the Starfish. Judy was amazing as well. All the staff 5 stars... This is my 3rd time in cuba but 1st at starfish and I will now be a regular. Yes there are shortages on foods in Cuba has nothing to do with the resort. We were always full never hungry.

Love coming to this resort it may not be a five star by some standards but the staff are what makes it a great experience. The entertaiment team does a great job. Special shout out to Mildred, Michael Joel and Yorky they are welcoming and energetic. Great time with them. Angel the Assistant Manager is very approachable and cares for the visitors ensuring their experience here is a good one. Dealing with shortages and available resources the team does the best they can. Let us not forget the bar staff who entertain us and give great service. Elvis, Tony and Joe are the best.The beach is amazing and the pool is beautiful. If you want a good time this is the place.

Love, love, love this resort ! We are travelling with our one year old twins and it’s been so smooth. Amazing staff! Entertainment staff are so fun and keeps the day full ! The beach is steps away and so clean. The bartender and wait staff have been so helpful.

We visited Starfish Cayo coco in March 2024.
Had an awesome experience.

*Room
We checked every thing as soon as we checked in.
Every thing worked. Sink, Toilet, A/C.
The shower drain was stuck. And hotel fixed it ASAP.
No problem after.
Maids did good service. We had no problem with the room.

*Staff
Amazing. Awesome. Super friendly!!
They did above and beyond

*Food
My family really is not very picky... We thought foods were good.
Go to the grill guys and give some tips. They will cook better beef or better fish.
If you are a fish lover, you are at the right place.
I brought some spices just in case but didn't even need to use them.
Only down side... probably was COFFEE!!!

BRING YOUR OWN COFFEE!!! I repeat! Bring your own COFFEE!!!
They had few shortages of coffee from the bar. This was particularly painful for me.

*Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi only around main building. Wish it could go all the way up to the beach.

*Beach
The beach was Aaaaamazing!!!!! FIVE STAR. I could literally stay at the beach all day reading book and relax.

*Tips
Tips are really important. Bring lots of coins. We used Canadian coins and it was no problem.

*Other things
Be friendly with gardeners. They are amazing people and can get you delicious coco fruits.

We had such a great experience.
Sometimes the resort has few shortages.. such as water...(happened twice. No water for entire resort for couple hours) and coffee / milk. Other then that, everything was fine.

Oh. Please!! bring your own toilet paper!!
Most of places don't have toilet paper!

Affordable vacation here with food , room & flight round trip for 1 week all-inclusive. The room is very basic but feels like you're in the old classic days, which I love. Whats makes this resort and vacation the best is the people of the resort. I wish I knew everyone's names, but everyone was fantastic and the best of people with the best friendly and family feeling 10/10. Will miss everyone there with all my heart & love. Alberto, Brian, Yuri, michel, and everyone I will miss you all . It was very nice meeting you ❤🇨🇺

This resort has become my favourite place. I absolutely adore the white sandy beaches here. The greeny at the resort is amazing. Food is always well cooked and delicious. I adore the grill cooks as they always joke with the clients and make you feel at home. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, well air-conditioned and changed daily should you want the service. Entertainment is amazing. The team works really hard to create fun activities and games to keep everyone engaged: Nildrey, Joel, Maikel, Tamara and others. Fantastic DJs. There are great shows with professional singers and dancers every night. Never a dull moment. I've been returning to this resort for over five times and will continue to recommend it to my friends.

Huge shoutout to the gardeners my kids bucket list was to get a coconut and drink it’s milk. He saw them trying to get a coconut and got some for them down and cut them open for them. The bar staff is also amazing the drinks are always flowing.

I just got back from a 7 day vacation. The food was ok. I brought my own ketchup and peanut butter. My own reusable coffee mug. The beach was beautiful the pool was beautiful. Coffee and cappuccino was the best. It’s wasn’t to crowded. The staff was very friendly. Both the buffet staff and the bar made my birthday special. The shower wasn’t the best. I didn’t not get sick and only had one mosquito bite. I put the towels on the floor and new ones appeared. I did tip the housekeeper well. And gave her presents. All in all it’s a nice place to go to relax. I’ll definitely go there again

We just got home and I want to go back. The staff was so nice, the beach unlike any I've ever seen.

Just returned home after a week at this resort. I absolutely loved it and plan on going back! The layout was excellent, fantastic beaches and the people there went above and beyond to make us feel like family. I do want to give an extra thank you to the following people. You are lucky to have such a wonderful staff!!! Never let them go!

I wish I could name everybody who went out of their way to make out vacation a memorable one.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo was a nice place to stay with amazing housekeeping and nice and polite personnel. But I suggest avoiding the peak season. They have only one bar and snack bar, crowed might your life hard. After mid-August is the best time.
See food and fish were amazing and the rest of the food in the buffet was the best they can offer.
One of the most amazing beach that I have ever been to, but shallow ocean. You can walk 20-25 min forward and water will still be on your waist :)
Turn left, walk 10 min and you will have a deep nice ocean to swim.
I have to mention the entertainment team too. They were amazing.

Its was a great trip. Make sure to bring some ketchup and bug spray. No different than any other resort here in Cuba. I thought the entertainment and quick service at the bar/snack shack was great. Friendly staff and they make the most of what they have. You can tell they are trying to improve infrastructure, etc. Obviously some things need improvement. This would be the equivalent of a 1 star motel in Canada. They provide you with a large bottle of drinking water everyday, food is edible but not enjoyable. I recommend bringing a few hundred bucks and going on excursions and eating lobster etc off site for lunch and a la carte for every meal. Enjoy!

All the Staff and Workers at this Resort are Amazing! I am so Happy it is finally reopen. This is is best place in Cuba!!! We stay here Every time we go! We got to meet some new People this trip who have gone above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Thank you so much especially to Mercy and Sabine for all Their extra kindness!) And Thank you so much for the Special Dinner we had during Our stay. It was so Romantic and Special and honestly the Beat Dinner We have Ever had in Cuba! ❤ We will be back soon to see all Our Friends and Family!

This is our second year in a row that we come to this hotel and we made aloth of friends here it is almost like a big family and we love. The people there know how to thank you for visiting over and over again they make you feel a home and like a king it’s amazing and really fun. We are most likely to come back again in the future for sure! A big thanks to the management and the staff (Axel Rodriguez) and other that there names are escaping my mind for now but all of theme are very nice peoples .

This is such an beautiful resort!! The resort kindly accommodated our request for a quiet room - our villa was about a 5 min walk from the main hotel and we were away from all the noise and crowds, which was perfect. We had a pool right outside our villa, as well as, access to a side of the beach that guests rarely frequented. So it felt like we had a private pool and the whole Atlantic Ocean all to ourselves! Perfect for a family holiday. 🏖 The beach is breathtaking. The restaurant is available through reservation and the buffet offers a great selection of foods. You may want to bring your own spices if you want, but we really enjoyed it. The fruits are delicious. There are double decker buses for about 30 cents/ticket that take you to Cayo Coco (the next island) and to Playa Pilar - which is a breathtaking turquoise water beach. So fantastic!!! Just don't get on the last bus of the day, as it won't bring you back to the resort. My 6 year-old could not get enough of this beautiful resort. The shows at night are also great. We got a great deal on RedTag.ca during low season (August) as well. The Cuban people are so friendly and gracious. We had an issue with our shower being clogged and the resort fixed it right away. Really helpful and kind hosts!

We had an amazing time at the hotel! The food was great, the room was lovely, and all the staff was so friendly! The beach is beautiful and an awesome spot for kite surf. We adored our time there and would definitely go back. A special thank you to Randys, Michael and Mia from the entertainment staff and to Ahmel from reception, they were incredible!

We had a great experience staying at Starfish and kite boarding on the beach. The resort has a community feeling, and wasn't lacking anything that we needed to have a great trip. Special thank you to Aidel, the front desk manager. His support and hospitality really made the difference in our stay. Looking forward to visiting again in the future!

This place is amazing,the staff are beyond accommodating. The food was amazing the rooms very suitable and if not they made sure we got what we needed. The beach beyond beautiful. This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the Starfish and each time has been absolutely incredible! The food is amazing! The staff are just so wonderful you honestly cannot forget them, they honestly become your family! So a little shoutout to…Nildrey in entertainment, she is so outgoing, caring and creative! Junior makes the best snacks at the snack bar! He’s fast, but also makes sure your order is right. Joey the bartender is the funniest most outgoing bartender I’ve met, you can definitely tell he loves his job! Richard in maintenance is so sweet and will bring you coconuts, mangos and bananas!
