Kempinski Cayo Guillermo Resort Cuba

Absolutely gorgeous resort!
Very attentive personnel, new tidy rooms. And just fantastic beach with pristine turquoise water!
No problem with food, it is actually delicious and served in a way you may see only in Europe.
Yes, it is a bit pricey and some people may say it is better to go to Mexico for that money, but I have opposite opinion. We will definitely come back next year.
Recommended for families and couples.

If you are looking for a quiet, serene break on a gorgeous beach with wonderful service and delicious food, this is the perfect place! The resort is clean and well-maintained with spacious rooms, 3 huge pools and beautiful vistas. Under the direction of Victor, the food is delicious and the restaurants well-run. We opted for half-board which included a huge breakfast and numerous dinner options -more than enough to keep us going for the day (and if not, there was always the bar overlooking the beach!). All of the staff were engaging and friendly, but none more so than Yadira (the Lady in Red) and Osmani who went out of their way to make our stay so much more than we expected. Thank you to them both, and to everyone else at the resort, for an amazing week. Fingers crossed, we will be back!

By far the best place in Cuba (maybe planet earth). Service is amazing, always caring and welcoming: from “The Lady in Red” to Roberto from the beach bar, Osmain from the golf cart, Hilario from everywhere. The boat crew. Anyways, you get the picture. I had the blessing of being able to take my grandmother to Cuba. She turned 100 years young, a week prior.  Months earlier I had asked where she wanted to go. First it was Africa but after review she said Cuba. When she was a young girl in Jamaica, her mother took in a Cuban family for a period of time.  It was their daughter who taught Grandma many things including how to swim. They were very close and she had a warmth about her that Grandma wanted to know again...  We toured the island, shared its culture, food and art. And after a 7 day road trip from Havana we settled at Kempinski Cayo Guillermo. Located at the tip of a peninsula on picturesgue land. It was time for R&R and to put that swimming to the test. Just like the people of Cuba the staff was gracious, warm, inviting and attentive to anything a 100 year old woman could ask for.  And to be clear, a 100 year old woman has no filters, so that's a big task. Yadira (The Lady in Red) hosted us with love and like family. I really want to thank you and the team for your hospitality, professionalizm and above all support.  If you are looking for an exclusive beach, an over the water villa or just to get away and recharge. You have found the right place. Our Villa had a small private pool that was the entry testing grounds for my grandmother and then we made our way to the beach. You can access the ocean from your room as I did but preferred the walk in approach with Grandma to the warm waters. The hotel staff helped shuttle us with golf carts or just a slow walk and conversation when needed. A Sunday massage kept my mom and grandmother relaxed and at ease as we returned to the ocean for more sun and water.   I cannot thank the hotel enough for helping us to end this journey on a strong note and cannot wait for my return. Here the watchword is certainly…relax!
The resort is a brand new luxurious establishment, equipped with every comfort! The rooms are spacious and clean.
You can enjoy delicious food at every meal. The sea view breakfast is exceptional!

This hotel is top-notch. I don’t think I have ever seen a hotel this clean both inside and out. Food quality 5 out of 5. Every experience, from the lobby bar to the restaurants was absolutely best of the best. Ilario, the general manager was kind and caring and always checking in on us. Victor, who managed the dinner and lunch restaurant, was always making sure his guests are comfortable. A true and inspiring gentleman - food is absolutely stunning.

The rooms are huge, bed- incredibly comfortable. The bathroom is very clean. Great water pressure. The shower and toilet are separate with a separate soaking tub and double sink. Resort is very designed with 3 beautiful pools, a great gym and fantastic spa.

Amaizing experience, everything about our staying at the Kempinski was wonderful. The food was great, the place beautiful, the rooms confortable, but, above all, the service was just wonderful. The Director was quite the gentleman, the Lady in Red so nice and the waiters and rest of the workers were very polite and helpful. I can honestly recommend this place 100%. This is the best place to stay in Cayo Guillermo.

We had 3 amazing days at kempinski resort in cayo Guillermo. The resort was beautiful, brand&new and every detail was perfect: playa Pilar is reachable from the resort and we had all the comfort available including Wi-Fi on the beach. The room was cozy, very clean and spaceful. The food was very tasty and delicious, served in an elegant dining room. The unbelievable breakfast was served with the sea view. We have to thank Ilario, the GM of the resort, who took care of us during the period, as well as all the waiters. Thank You very much and see you soon!

A little piece of paradise in Cuba. I spent 4 days of relax in this resort. The position is perfect at the end of playa Pilar farway from the caos . The room is beautiful, clean and speaceful. The food was simply and delicious. Special thanks to Ilario GM for his and availability; he made our trip unforgettable.

We stayed for 3 nights and just had an absolutely great time, we didn't want to leave this place! Rooms are huge, and beds are incredibly comfortable. The resort is very well designed with 3 beautiful pools and a great gym.
The breakfast menu was plentiful and of good quality, and even our special requests were met for dinner. The white sandy beach and the turquoise sea are gorgeous.
The entire staff is just great, professional, and very friendly. Ilario, the General Manager was kind and caring and always checking on us to make sure we had the best stay!
Yes, the country is globally facing a tough time with wi-fi connection, electricity, and other restrictions. Due to this, we had a longer check-in time and an extremely long delay on our way back to Havana with the government taxi the resort collaborates with, but Ilario, Dani, and FOH team were very helpful and sorted the issue out. Moreover, they are always available and very helpful.

Beautiful hotel, amazing beach and friendly staff. Thank you to Victor and Ilario for making sure that everyone has a worry free vacation.

I have never enjoyed a vacation more than this time at this resort. Kempinski with years of history in luxury brings identity this is hotel. I love the hardworking foreign staffs, very attentive and polite. They know how to greet guests and manage them even tho they are European and their mother tongue is not castellano.

I will definitely check their other hotels in the country such as Gran hotel manzana and Bristol.

Everything was perfect.
Beaches, accomodation and food was amazing. The staff was extremely kind and helpful , specially Mr Ilario, the resort Manager, who made our vacation unforgettable.

We got engaged at Kempinski Cayo Guillermo due to the location of the hotel being a beautiful place located at the best part of Cayo Guillermo.
And from the moment I booked our stay the manager Yadira was truly amazing assisting with the planning of the proposal and making sure our stay would be amazing!
She was also very accommodating to us during our time at the hotel and made sure that we had all we needed at all times and that our stay was perfect.

Pilar beach was just as breathtaking as we had heard before arriving. And it was so much fun being able to windsurf at the private beach and enjoy the view of the island where Hemingway spent parts of his life.

We can absolutely recommend staying here at the most beautiful place in Cuba where Yadira and her lovely staff makes your vacation really special!

Cayo Guillermo, located in the province of Ciego de Ávila of Cuba, is a tropical island in the Jardines del Rey archipelago, off central Cuba. It's known for its clear, shallow coastal waters, towering sand dunes and beaches like Playa el Paso, Playa del Medio and Playa Pilar. Just offshore, a vast ribbon of coral reef shelters a rich array of colourful marine life. Popular dive sites surround Cayo Media Luna, a tiny island just north of Playa Pilar.
