Casa Lucilo y Nirma

One reason alone to book this place is the amazing breakfast! It’s BY FAR the best breakfast we’ve had during our 2 week stay in Cuba. It’s tasty, more than enough and a great way to start your day.

Secondly, Lucilo and Nirma (Alex’s parents) are such friendly and caring people. They are super helpful, sweet, have great local recommendations and happily help you arrange any taxi’s and excursions you might want.

During our stay the host (Alex) was on a trip, but that did not influence his responsiveness at all! Every time I messaged him he would reply within 30 minutes, which makes you really feel appreciated.

And for the people who like pets; Bruno (the household dog) is the cutest! Bring the good boy a toy :)

All in all, we definitely recommend this casa and would stay here again if we ever re-visit Viñales!

What an amazing experience! The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. The patio and outside areas were covered in plants and nicely shaded from the heat. But most importantly Lucilo and Nirma and their son Alex were so warm and inviting. They make you feel like family. The breakfast was outstanding and all the food and beverages they provided were tasty and inexpensive. Beyond that they know everyone in Viñales, and can easily set you up with any activity, from bike riding to horse back riding, tours of tobaco farms, exploring caves, rock climbing, or just eating at beautiful hilltop restaurants. They know it all. Anyone who visits Cuba should go to Viñales, and anyone going to Viñales should stay at their house.

we had 4 night stay at the casa and the family took great care of us with a quiet location. The breakfast is healthy and home made. They have a lovely dog called Bruno. The family also supports local dogs so if you are an animal lover this is a place to stay.

Our stay at Lucilo and Nirma’s Airbnb was very comfortable. We stayed for one night but right from the bus stop it was easy to find on Google maps. On our arrival, we were greeted by Nirma (Alex’s mom). She was very kind and our room was as expected and matched the pictures. The decor is done very tastefully and is comfortable. Alex was very responsive and patiently answered all of my questions even before we arrived in Cuba. He arranged two tours for us for horseback riding and the sunrise hike to Los Acuaticos. We absolutely loved our guide and will definitely recommend booking him during your stay. After our hike, Nirma prepared a lovely breakfast for us. Lucilo tried his best to arrange a cab for us despite things shutting down during New Year’s Eve. We would love to come back here.

This home is welcoming and beautiful, with nice rooms and a courtyard garden. Alex was very approachable and helpful with bookings and recommendations. Easy to get to many great restaurants on the strip from this location. Would definitely recommend.

This was hands down my best Airbnb experience ever. My stay with Alex was absolutely amazing! From the time i checked in to the time i left everything was perfect. Alex was extremely responsive with any questions i had. He was also extremely helpful with booking excursions, rides, and giving great recommendations for local food spots and things to do. He speaks great english as well which was extremely helpful. His mother, father, and entire team were all very helpful and the even offer a great breakfast for only $5. The property was exactly as shown and described, super clean, cute, and comfortable. I got a stomach virus on my last day from something i ate outside of the property and Alex and his family were quick to help! I highly recommend Alex's place to anyone coming to Vinales and will certainly stay here again when I am back. I couldn't be happier with my time here. This is a must stay place if going to Vinales

We love this house!! Have been back several times over the course of 7 years! Hosts are amazing. Beautiful clean house in the middle of the village with luxurious details. Family friendly and welcoming always available for whatever you need. Norma us a fantastic cook as well! Could not stay at a better place in Viñales

My stay with Alex , Lucilo & Nirma was a rear and authentic experience. A truly authentic and warm Cuban family owning a gorgeous casa in a great location to discover the national park ! Coming from Europe we were amazed by the impeccable cleanliness and great taste of the interior decor of our room ! Utmost comfort in the rooms and bathrooms that Look like taken out of a magazine ! Excellent value for money. Undoubtedly the best casa to stay in Vinales !

Skip the front row and head directly to Alex' and his family's place. Their house is just beautiful, with a rooftop garden, a patio and lots of room to chill between your activities in the Viñales Valley. Alex and his father gave us a very warm welcome, organized all our activities and recommended a bunch. They were always helpful, responsive, friendly and really interested in their guests. The room itself was really nice, with some tasteful decorations as well as an A/C and a ventilator - quite helpful in the warm and humid climate of Cuba. The restaurant and event recommendations (Alex
recommended Mogote bar where a lot of the natives came together for a salsa party and live music - it was great!)

Viñales was the absolute best of our stay in Cuba. And that experience was enhanced by this great accommodation. The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean compared to the usual accommodation in Cuba. The breakfast was much better than the standard from the local gastronomy. Everyone was very nice and helpful with anything that needed to be planned or arranged that Alex helped us with.

This house is amazing!! Lucilo and Nirma are really great. I spent 2 night and everything was spectacular. Viñales is the best place in the world. You have to visit this place.

I could not have been more thrilled with my stay. Everything was truly perfect, would not have changed or improved a single element.

The rooms are spacious, cozy, incredibly well decorated.Everything is immaculate. Feels like you’re walking into your home away from home!

Pre Air-conditioned rooms, more towels than you’ll know what to do with and drinking water readily available in the rooms (which is great in this heat!)

The staff were incredibly helpful and the host went above and beyond to be accommodating. Honestly, it went beyond good service and was genuinely touching.

Alex and his family are really nice hosts. The was clean & whenever we needed something Alex was reachable. You could also book some tours through Alex, which has been nice. Also you were able to enjoy a homemade breakfast for an additional price. We loved the stay, as the area is just stunning and beautiful.

Staying with Alex and his family was great in every respect. The room itself was prefect, and the furnishings were a little nicer than the norm for other Casas in Cuba. Breakfast was delicious and included a nice variety of foods. But most importantly, Alex and his family were incredibly friendly and helpful for whatever question I had, or help that I needed. This is a great place to stay in the peaceful setting of Viñales.

We had a lovely stay in this casa. Our room was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. Our host was welcoming and helpful. He recommended some great local restaurants, and arranged a tour of Viñales valley and a local tobacco farm which was one of the highlights of our trip! Truly a 5 star stay!

Lucilo and Nirma were very welcoming, provided us with a delicious breakfast and helped us organise an unforgettable horseback trip to a tobacco farm and caves. The room itself was clean, spacious, with ample facilities. A highly recommendable experience!

I had very comfortable 3 nights here. Room is clean and modern-designed. Towels are clean and soft. With 5 euro l got my laundries done fast and clean. The breakfast is fresh and delicious with only 500 peso charged each day - pay upon leaving, and water consumed in the room will be charged together. You really feel like living with a local family. Tours offered are priced higher than those in town, but this is just a personal choice - they anyway provide options for convenience:) it is located next to a small back street but l feel quite safe walking in the neighborhood, even in the night. There is a cute big dog, which is definitely a PLUS. What can be improved is to mention the price for breakfast and water clearly in advance, but l guess Alex may just forgot by accident.

This casa exceeded our expectations ! The host , Alex , speaks impeccable English, is very well traveled and can act as a Concierge if you need to arrange unforgettable excursions in the national park and will gladly help you arrange your Cuba trip! Alex & his family have done an outstanding job with the decor and level of comfort of their rooms ! The bathrooms are amazing! We are thrilled to have chosen this casa! Breakfast was the best of Cuba ( freshly made every morning ). Location is top! Great value for money - this casa definitely needs to charge more ! They do have all the amenities. Perfect place - look no further.

I had a wonderful stay at Alex Jr's place. He was away but his parents hosted me and they were more than lovely. The room was on the second floor and just like the pictures. Very clean and comfortable, with a balcony outside where i could sit with my book and cigar :) The location of the house is very close to the main street where all the restaurants are, including the banks and Viasul office for the bus tickets. Breakfast is highly recommended!!and also the horse ride trip to the local tabaco growers they organized. Best experience in Vinales! Thank you for a lovely stay!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lucilo and Nirma's casa in Vinales. The room was wonderful and comfortable, and the view from the balcony was breathtaking.

Our host, Alex, was fantastic. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He even provided us with great recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area.

One of the best parts of our stay was knowing that we were supporting the local community. Lucilo and Nirma work very hard to provide a comfortable stay for their guests, and it was great to see that our stay helped support their business.

Overall, I would highly recommend this casa particular to anyone visiting Vinales. The room was great, the host was wonderful, and the community banding together to support eachother in difficult times was an eye-opening experience. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future. Salud!!
