Best place to camp even if you don't have your own vehicle. While only 15 minutes walking from the town center, the place is very quiet, surrounded by nature, and visited by many birds. Huge shared kitchen with gas stove and fridge to cook and hang out. Lots of space and good price. Marco is very friendly and helpful, being a San Carlos native. Only the cold shower is a bit rough when the weather is chilly, but that's not often the case.

This is absolute paradise and the most beautiful place in the Fortuna region! We were lucky enough to see 3 sloths, 4 toucans and lots of colorful frogs up close. The owner Marco is super nice and very helpful. He showed us these special animals and took a lot of time for us. Thank you very much Marco, it was great! We can recommend everyone to come here and enjoy the unique nature.

This camp site will always have a special place on my heart. It the best campsite I had in Costa Rica. It is outside the centre and therefore very quiet, but close enough to be in the centre within 10 min walk. The place has a lot of shadows, very clean toilets and showers (cold but good pressure!) kitchen and fridge/freezer. The trees hosts lots of birds, Iguanas, and sloths. The price-quality ratio is good. The owner Marco is very friendly, always willing to help and responds very quickly to messages. During high season I recommend to reserve because it is popular and can get full, especially during the weekend. Despite the amount of people, it stays pretty quiet and relaxed. Totally recommend!

Thanks Marco, for your help with my broken phone, the late arrivals and the last minute reservations. I will always remember your campsite with lots of love and fond memories !

I camped for 1 night and saw 4 SLOTHS!!… right above where I was camping. There were also lots of cool frogs and birds like tucans all living wild without cages. It was really cool.

Marcos the owner was really nice. He walked around the property with me, then later other people, helping locate the animals and enjoy our stay.

There are great showers (cold) and a small kitchen. The stove is butane run, you’ll need to bring a tall gas bottle with you if you’d like to use it.

I wish I had longer to stay!

Safe, clean campsite tucked away from the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna. The pictures don't do this campsite justice, there is a spacious kitchen area with an electric stove and outlets, two washrooms, two showers, and more than enough room for people to spread out. The best part was the sloth on-site! Absolutely would recommend to anyone looking to camp near La Fourtuna.

This is by far one of the most wonderful places I've been to for camping. All the animals are literally living on the premises! There is a sloth family, tukans, frogs, owls, a turtle, ducks and probably much more. Marco and his son Alejandro are the kindest and most helpful people I've met on my journey through Costa Rica. The place is brand new, it opened in summer 2022. It even has a pound. It is super close to the city center, but far enough that you don't hear or see anything from it. I slept like a baby in my hammock, it was super quiet and peaceful throughout the night. This is seriously a magical place. I wish I could stay for much longer than just a night, but I had limited time in Costa Rica and had to go.

We had an amazing stay! Father and son have their heart in the business and are building the campsite from the ground up. They are making quite some progress since there was all different types of buildings that did not exist in the pictures yet.

The property is nice with regard to the wildlife they have, and both father and son can show you some sloths and frogs if you are lucky.

Keep in mind that the campsite is under construction, but I think that the price rate was also very fit to the circumstances.

Definetly recommend a visit!

Spend 3 nights here over a long weekend in September and it could not have been more incredible & fun.

The owner, Marco, and his son are the kindest people I have met in all of Costa Rica - and that's saying a lot. They showed us around the site, and the whole property to see their resident sloths, frogs and more.

Truly incredible spot, with cooking facilities, really nice bathrooms and showers (cold water but very good pressure and refreshing).

Walking distance to La Fortuna town and easy to get to the hikes and waterfalls all around.

We will be staying again!

Great place for camping! I stayed here for several nights and came back again after exploring other parts of Costa Rica. Marco is very kind and also great at spotting wildlife so you'll probably get to see a sloth (oso perezoso) or two while visiting! There is also good Wifi; I measured it at 11 mbps download and 9 mbps upload in the common area. Another important tidbit is that the temperature at night is perfect for sleeping!

What a great campsite! Marco is an amazing host, the facilities are very clean, and the site surrounded by trees and gardens that host wildlife. It's a peaceful spot just a few mins walk from the centre, so it's great to get away from the busy town. Very much recommended!

Marco and his son were very welcoming. Their property was quiet despite being so close to town and had an excellent view of the volcano! We spent the day recuperating and researching our next destination (they just got WiFi and also have a shower and potable water) and got a tour from Marco of the property where we spotted toucans and sloths, and even got to try agua manzanas (water apples). Highly recommend!

This is an absolutely beautiful property with friendly hosts and great people. We camped in an overlander and found the walk to town was reasonable, avoiding traffic and parking in town, while being very quiet with lots of wildlife. The camper bathrooms were still being completed when we visited, but a bathroom was available for our use. There’s a great, covered area with picnic tables and outdoor kitchen that is a perfect gathering area. Given the location, I was surprise the camping fee was so low, a great value!

One of the best campings I have been in Costa Rica. It has pretty much everything you need. Marco (owner) is a great guy and really helpful. The place is quiet and with a little bit of luck you can see a sloth or some tucans

This is the ideal place to be if you are in La Fortuna. The camping has everything you need (toilet. Shower, kitchen area). Marco and his son Alejandro do as much as they can possibly do to make sure your stay is great. Really good vibes. The place is being renovated so the facilities are improving rapidly. We got to see some sloths, bluejean frogs and plenty of birds. We had a great time here and especially liked the attention that Marco and Alejandro put to the place and their guests.. 🫶🙏
