Wow. The best typica desayuno y cafe I have had in Costa Rica thus far, 1 month into my travels. And this comes after purposely seeking out the most authentic foods. What a fortunate accident stumbling into this place that is currently unreviewed and unknown by everyone except the locals that come to dine here every morning.

Good breakfast and the pastries are really good

We accidentally discovered this when we visited the farmer market on Saturday morning. As early as 8am we already saw all the local people there. We decided to get some warm pastries: we got the chicken pastry , cheese and ham, beef and potatoes, beef empanada, chocolate custard muffin and chocolate cake. I think the chicken were good. The beef and potatoes were a bit spicy but also good. My kids also liked the chocolate cake, not very sweet. The only thing I think could be better was the beef empanada, the outside cover was hard. And this were pretty cheap, about ~1000 colones per piece.
