Toucan Paradise

Rural, quiet, convenient, comfortable beds and pillows, well equipped kitchen, clean, very tight construction for Costa Rica standards, secure, covered parking. The owner is a lot of fun to talk with and listen to, as he speaks English well, and is helpful in understanding Costa Rica culture, politics, tourist destinations, and trappings. The real hot water shower was the best of our big Airbnb trip. BIG bonus is that within walking distance is the excellent hilltop restaurant KapiKapi AND Ecological Model Farm / Finca Modelo Ecologica with a good night walk and the one and only Hollow Ficus Tree 130ft Climb!

Excellent hosts who were very attentive to any and all needs. They made us feel completely at home and the setting was gorgeous. The lodge was very affordable and comfortable and the family dogs are delightfully friendly. They provided all the ingredients for us to make our own breakfast and inundated us with information about activities in the local area. Even allowing us to leave our bags with them while we went off to explore a local reserve for the entire day. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone.

I can't recommend a stay here enough! It is the highlight of our stay in CR at 5 different places. Amazing hospitality, fun milking the goats and getting the low-down from the charming hosts. There are many thoughtful additions like fresh goat milk, marmalade, coffee, and fruit. The host helped us book the best night tour with an amazing dinner. We would love to live here!

I've stayed in many Airbnb/vrbo properties and these two houses were some of the best for small attention to details and great hospitality from Ivonne and Francisco. As others have mentioned we also got blessed with fresh goat cheese and homemade jams...which BTW, both of them go great together! We were a group of 8 and with the 2 houses walking distance from each other it was perfect. we stayed in one house with my in laws and we had our 4 teenage girls stay in the cabin next to their house. The place is a great deal for a large group.

When you arrive, there is no doorbell or phone reception, and the closed gate is far from the house.

You may be tempted to panic.

Don't. Francisco will notice you and let you in. He will also be vigilant your stay and be sure all is well.

Very helpful and talkative and books all the tours for you if you want.

Excelente! Muy recomendable hospedarse en la cabaña de Francisco e Ivonne. Una pareja especial, te hacen sentir como en casa, te ayudan en todo lo que pueden e incluso, te informan sobre las interesantes y divertidas opciones que puedes hacer en Monteverde. La cabaña es perfecta para parejas, familia y amigos, muy equipada y ubicada en un lugar privilegiado rodeada de naturaleza. Me hicieron sentir muy a gusto y espero volver a vernos!

Het is prima bij Ivonne en Fransisco ! Een lekker huis met veel ruimte. Bij binnenkomst troffen wij een goed gevulde koelkast met door Ivonne gemaakte heerlijke geitenkaas en caramel, geitenmelk, eieren, etc. Er was ook koffie, brood en meel voor pannenkoeken in de keuken.
En niet te vergeten een grote schaal met vers fruit..
De woning is schoon, de bedden zijn prima.
Ivonne en Fransisco zijn vrolijk, vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam. De honden en de kat zijn vriendelijk en rustig. In de omgeving is veel te doen dus de dagen vliegen voorbij.
Toucan Paradise is echt een prima plaats om een paar dagen of weken te verblijven.

Estoy encantada de compartir esta opinión favorablemente, pues es uno de los hospedajes más memorables que he tenido en toda mi vida. Hospédate aquí si lo que buscas es una experiencia interesante. Si lo tuyo son los hoteles lujosos y exclusivos, evítalo.
Toucan Paradise es una pequeña cabaña en lo alto de una montaña. Justo al lado se encuentra la cabaña donde viven los dueños de la propiedad, que son las personas más amables y atentas que te puedas imaginar. Francisco nos atendió excelentemente bien desde el primer momento. La cabaña es cómoda y te sientes como en casa. Te ofrecen leche, queso y dulce de leche, todo recién hecho con leche de sus propias cabras. Además de mermelada de maracuyá casera, café y algunas otras cosas como harina de hot cakes.
Pero lo más memorable de esta inolvidable estancia, en mi opinión, fue la oscuridad del sitio, que hace que por las noches se pueda ver un cielo totalmente poblado de estrellas. También me encantó poder escuchar el sonido del viento y la naturaleza.
Siempre recordaré este lugar como uno de los más lindos en los que he estado alguna vez.

Pasamos dos noches en esta cabaña fabulosa y súper confortable, con la buena conversación y acogida De Francisco, que hizo todo lo posible por hacernos sentir como en casa e incluso nos dio la posibilidad de colaborar en ciertas tareas cotidianas como ordeñar cabras! Nos dio además mucha información útil , vuelvo enamorado del bosque nuboso!

Sin duda el lugar donde hay que alojarse si vienes a Monteverde. Una cabina espectacular y el trato de Francisco es simplemente INIGUALABLE !!!
