Monteverde Extremo Park

Amazing park! You have super long canopies, superman canopies, two-people canopies and an amazing Tarzan jump!

All of this while having an amazing view of the forest and region. If you get lucky you can see animals like monkeys, racoons and parrots!

We did the canopy tour and the horseback riding through this company. Canopy was so good, all of the guides are friendly and knowledgeable. Horseback riding was INCREDIBLE. We had Charlie as a guide and he was AMAZING. He was so knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful the whole time. The horses were so friendly and well behaved, the whole experience was truly priceless as we got to watch the sunset over the hills. The views were amazing the whole time, and I recommend that everyone does this tour while in Monteverde because it was SO GOOD. Thanks especially to Charlie who made the whole experience even more unforgettable!!

The views from the top of the zip lines just can’t be matched. The staff were very attentive to safety and instructions were very clear.

These two parrots just flew in for a visit to the reception office to show off their colours and get a treat. Then they took off again.

The shuttle bus was prompt and the driver was great!

I did both the canopy zip line and the night walk tours. The canopy zip line is beautiful and so much fun. I went first thing in the morning and had nice sunny weather, and the staff all make sure you’re safe and having fun.

The night walk was my favourite part. I went on November 19th, and I was the only one part of the tour so it was just me and the guide in the park. The guide was able to spot some wildlife in the dark, and we also did a few zip lines in the dark which was an unreal experience!

We went on the guided horseback ride. Our guide, Charlie, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, kind, and helped us get some incredible photos. I wouldn’t recommend this ride for inexperienced riders as the terrain is rough, but folks with some riding experience will have a great time!

I think it’s the most extreme zipline place in monteverde, we had a blast and felt safe the whole time. the Tarzan swing at the end is definitely a highlight!! We also did the bungee after the zipline and it was a big rush of adrenaline in a beautiful environment (it was all our first time)

Very fun activity with about 7 zip lines 2 superman lines and a crazy jump at the end. There is lots of climbs in between some launch areas so be mindful that this requires to be in shape as it is in high altitude and very humid. Last part are scarier but can be skipped. Finally the wait could be substancial at times especially for the final jump as it takes quite a bit of time to secure each jumpers.

Set the bar really high for zip lining! The entire team was so friendly, helpful, and energetic. Huge shout-out to Antonio for being extra hospitable and kind with local recommendations and conversation! The Tarzan swing and Superman zip lining are unique and we're huge highlights of the trip. Would definitely recommend!!!

We did the horse riding tour at 3pm. Can’t speak about the zip lining which we didn’t do. The horse riding with our guide Charlie was fantastic. He was very polite and professional and took time to explain how to ride the horse. He also took the time to take great pictures of our group. I’ve never ridden a horse before and still felt safe at all times. The horses were all very calm and easy to ride. The views are fantastic and the tour is great. I recommend doing the tour at 3pm to get the beautiful sunset on top of the hills.

Loved the entire zipline/swing experience, even in the rain. My whole family had a blast.

But even cooler than that was the *horse back riding excursion* we did in the pastures and hills of the Extremo Finca property. IT IS SUCH STUNNNNNNING VIEWS!

You book it through Extremo. The horses were well groomed and they even had a small, gentle mare for me (because I'm just 5' tall). We did not see anyone else on the ride. Our guide was really great. The whole ride was about 1.5 long (which was plenty) and you need to add about 15 min for the rocky ride to and from the stables.

It was our son's first time, my third, my husband is an experienced rider - and all three of us loved it.

This was one of the best experiences of our 3 week trip! If I remember correctly, it was about $70-80/person and while that's very expensive, it was such beautiful and unique views, I'd absolutely do it again. You can see vast valleys, the bay, high hills, all green and gorgeously lush.

Note: there is no bathroom access until you're back at the Extremo main building, so either take some tissue for outback use or time your needs accordingly.

This was a truly amazing place. First off the ziplines are incredible. I have a fear of heights. After the 1st easy line all my fear was gone. The first Superman line was the most incredible experience I've ever had. At around 500ft, it feels like you are flying. I felt so free. The staff was great. I was having trouble climbing up the 1st Superman and the guy who was with us had me take a break. He went to a tree and grabbed some fruit. He wasn't in a rush at all. He was making sure I was OK and genuinely cared. I wish I could remember his name. The cat Leo met us in the parking lot and napped on our rental car. Then he came to sit with us as we watched our kids bungee jump. The orange bird came over and spoke to us and tried to "kiss" my wife. It was the highlight to our vacation for sure. I want to go back again!

Extremo was such a thrilling experience! It was very smoothly run so that we barely had to wait in lines for ziplines except at the beginning and for the Tarzan swing. All the employees were super friendly and professional and clearly prioritized safety. Absolutely go with Extremo if you're after a super adventurous and exciting experience.

I did both the zip-line and horseback riding with the company. The zipline was pretty popular so we had a big group. It felt safe and definitely an experience as far as zip-line goes. Be prepared for some hike up with gears. This five star review is really for my horseback ride tour and dedicated to my guide Hector. He is just such sweet person that not only led us on this fantastic
Horseback ride to a hidden water fall, a beautiful view of the mountains, the valley and a peek of the pacific coastline all in one frame, he patiently helped our group with photos and point out little creatures along the way. As we waited for the shuttle to take us back out from the ranch, he was picking up trash to clean up. Then, on the way out, we ran into our group’s family whose car broke down due to a little accident, Hector jumped out without any hesitation to help. He miraculously fixed it but cut his own finger and he just shook it off like nothing. Touristy activities are available everywhere these days, but the people and how they show up for others and for their work, what they embodies is what’s worth being rewarded, in recognition, compensation or any kind of benefits. I hope this review can do a tiny bit of that.

One of the BEST zip lines I’ve ever gone on! If you are an adrenaline junkie, this is for you! I’d say they actually have the longest zip line in Costa Rica. My favorite part was the Tarzan Swing, they literally take the floor out from under you. Be mindful - this park has steep inclines to and from each zip line. I’m pretty fit and it was exhausting. Overall, reccommend!!

We had a great time at Extremo Park! The zip lines were so high and fast. The Superman was unique and the last Tarzan swing was terrifying (in the best way possible)! One of the most fun experiences we’ve had. Loved it Only tip for the vendor is to allow people to scan for the photos and purchase with a credit card. We didn’t have time to wait to see them or enough cash with us.

WOW! Is all I have to say! That was one of the best experiences of my life. This park is definitely the best in Monteverde. If you’re looking for a thrill this is the place to go. We were greeted by the most wonderful staff at the reception then assisted by most knowledgeable, great English speaking staff members along the way. I must point out, Dago was amazing. Dago’s english was so fluent and he was very thorough on the safety lesson. My friend and I were very nervous in the beginning but having him around made it much easier and comfortable for us. Extremo Park is lucky to have such a qualified employee that helps make the experience a great one. Next time I’m in Monteverde, I will be back.

This experience was amazing!! It was the best zip lining I've ever experienced, and was definitely for the adrenaline junkies! The views from the sky were absolutely unreal, and the staff was so awesome! We got to hike through the forest to and from each cable, and got to see great views. We were able to do multiple kinds of zip lines- solo, tandem, and superman! Also, they had the best value/prices I'd seen in all my research. MINOR and LEO are the BEST guides!

We had a fabulous day doing the afternoon canopy tour/Tarzan swing (so much fun and the team is such an efficient well oiled machine). We felt safe and looked after and everyone had a fab attitude. We then the night zip line and jungle walk with Charlie. He pointed out so many birds/a few tarantula/ reptiles, was super flexible about the structure of the tour and the night zip line was such a fun experience (which was made even better by the lines he chose for us). Highly recommend!

My husband ziplined here and loved it. He gives it a 10/10, Said it was amazing. I enjoyed the birds, the view, and the little cafe here. If you're not ziplining and doing any of the adrenaline based activities, there are a couple of view points where you can go and watch everyone else who is.
