Beautiful! There are 2 options, you can either walk down to the waterfalls or get a ride down most of the way. There's still a 10-15 min walk down to the falls but that water is so worth it once you get there. Then when you're ready, you can call the office or send a WhatsApp message and they come pick you up where they drop you off. I'm so glad I visited. Great experience!

This might be the best experience I have ever had with waterfalls! The hike to the waterfall was nice, the place was not busy at all, you can swim and the waterfalls are stunning! Just go go go!!! You can easily drive from Manuel Antonio 😊

We had a wonderful time being awestruck by the beauty of Nauyaca Waterfalls. The Nature Park services were wonderful and we felt very fair pricing. The trails are well kept. There are bathrooms at both the facilities. The trail is strenuous for those who are not physically in shape so be mindful that the climb out could be very difficult for you. We would definitely come again!

We have visited the lower falls at Nauyaca many times but this was our first time entering through the Nature Park. The upper falls dwarf the lower falls! We spent a lot of time there as the younger couple we were with explored the rocks and swam around. The hike down was enjoyable as well. Overall, we would highly recommend this experience and will do so to guests who visit our condo in Esterillos.

Really great park. I highly recommend it!! We went to the east entrance. It's about 45 mins from Dominical & worth the drive (half up the paved, windy, mountain road, then the other half on the bumpy gravel road). We chose to walk the 45 mins to the waterfall & take the 4x4 truck back up to the car. We did the Difficult hike (#5) to the upper falls, then the lower falls & took the easy route (#1) back up. There is a lot of elevation, but it's not very hard. The falls are very beautiful! There were a lot of people at the falls. Apparently, it was a very busy day, they said... we were hoping for the prepared lunch when we got back, as offered on the sign, but they said they were too busy to add any more lunches. We arrived there around 10am. I tried to find a sloth & monkeys but didn't spot any. It's a must-see if you're in the area!

Worth the extra drive! The road is no problem and well maintained. Hike into the waterfall is 90% downhill and worth every footstep. We saw a LOT of wildlife! Video of a sloth attached. The staff was super helpful and easy going. Our whole family loved it.

What a fantastic experience to swim in the pools of the falls. Road out to meeting space is rough take a 4x4. Once you are there you have an option to hike down to the falls. If you are young and fit, go for it. We are early 50’s with college kid and took a ride down and hiked the rest of the way. Lots of steps but worth the end result. Bring tennis shoes and aqua socks and wear a swim suit.

Such a pretty place! There is a double waterfall, and then you can bathe and swim at the bottom. Careful though, it’s very slippery and there is a medium current. This was probably one of the highlights of my trip to costa rica!

Great experience and beautiful waterfalls! We took the trolley down and up, which I would definitely recommend. Once you get to the drop off spot, it’s a short, steep hike to the falls. Bring good walking shoes and a bathing suit.

This is the marker for the actual falls (and not just the ticket office), although the marker is slightly off on Google Maps as of June 2023. From the ticket office it is a mile to the parking lot then a 4km hike to the actual location of the falls. If you go in during the wet season like we did in June, there is a lot of water in the falls, but there are still pools at the base that are quite still and good for swimming.

About a 30-45 minute drive from Quepos, the Waterfalls are a must add to your trip! We recommend buying the trolley both ways as the hike up from the falls is steep enough as is; having to hike that extra way back to the main entrance, up some incredibly steep hills is just not worth it. Especially if it's during a hot and humid time of year.
Yes, you can swim in the water. Just expect cold 🥶 water. Also, the rocks near the waterfall pools are VERY SLIPPERY. Be smart, take your time, and make sure of your footing with each step. (You are in a remote part of Costa Rica - decent emergency medical care is hours away!)
Lastly, if you take some time on your hike (most people are in a hurry to get to the falls), you can spot some frogs, including colorful poisonous dart tip frogs.
Be sure to visit both the upper and lower falls. You can swim in both. Less ppl at upper.

This place was awesome 😎. The last couple km of the road is a rough dirt road, but I'd say most any car could make it easily. The facility at the top was very nice, well kept. They drove us down in their 4x4 the last little way. It was like paradise driving down. The smell of the air was sweet with blooming flowers. Saw one of those amazing blue butterflies and some toucans. The waterfall hiking trail was well kept, and pretty easy. I'd say most anyone that can handle a trail in the woods can handle this. The waterfall was amazing. So worth it. Make sure you go swimming! There was a guy there that had a rope that would help you climb the cliff and jump into the pool below, about 20 ft jump. But be warned, he wouldn't let me do the jump with my band on my wrist from this company, apparently you had to come with the other company to be allowed to use the rope.

Also, you were allowed to fly your drone there.

What a great way to refresh from 35 degrees celcius. We're glad we took the pickup ride in this temperature. Best bathing waterfalls we've ever been to. Reservations is suggested.

Great experience. Do not choose to walk to the entrance, pay the money and take the shuttle. Somewhat difficult hike so bring water.

We hiked the trail to the waterfall and it was worth it! If you start your hike at the ticket office it is about 6-6.5 miles. If you start at the parking lot it’s about 4.5 miles. There is a lot of uphill trekking but it made the payoff that much better. The trail is well maintained but does have some muddy areas so proper hiking shoes are recommended. Don’t forget your swimming attire.

DUDE!!! We were sad the last time we came we saw no waterfall. We came back for our honeymoon, and this place was so magical! We got caught in a thunderstorm, and it added some much to the experience! If you ever wanted to travel through Ferngully, this is the closest thing!

I have been to Nauyaca Waterfalls a few times and it never gets old. I recommend taking the car for $32 unless you’re in good physical condition to walk 2.5 miles each way of very steep roads. The times I’ve done I felt like dying half way through. If you decide to take the car back, you will get charged the $32 fee.
This is a must if you’re visiting Costa Rica.

Great hike... 8km round trip. Worth it. Shaded trail. Best waterfall yet.

Definitely a must do if you are in Costa Rica. However I highly recommend pay the little extra and take the truck. Bring some snacks and drinks and enjoy a beautiful afternoon at the lower falls.

Beautiful place to see; but if you’re just going for the general admission ticket, BE WARNED, it’s a 4km walk each way. Could take a minimum of an hr on the way to.

Such a good time, great water to swim in, and couldn’t have asked for a better nature hike and shower under the falls.
