Super tasty food, many vegan and vegetarian options (I recommend the vegan quesadillas), very kind staff, nice atmosphere with chill music, plants and lights, affordable pricing (around 6k colones for a well-portioned meal & drink). Definitely worth checking out!

Note that the place is usually open until 8 (despite what google says), but the owners told us they may close earlier (around 7) on Wednesdays as it's less busy and they need to go grocery shopping.

Great Place to go for Food after/before visiting the Waterfall. We had a Casado and Quesadillas Both were delicious!

We stopped here for lunch and we’re so glad we did! The food was delicious, I got the Casado with chicken and my husband got the shrimp rice. My 2 year old son loved the resident “kitty” and the employee Noel was so kind and patient with him, let him pet their kitty and even brought the kitty back over to him when it walked away! Great food, super friendly people and affordable prices. Highly recommend this place!

Mama Sandra’s is the most amazing restaurant in the Diamanté Valley. All of the food is made fresh daily - any vegetable dishes are locally sourced and SO fresh !!

This restaurant is owned by a Tico family that really values serving fresh & healthy food - the owner (mama sandra) is extremely knowledgeable about cooking dishes to maintain the maximum nutritional value and freshness

besides the delicious food, the vibe is very friendly and comforting. Mama Sandra and her family are the friendliest people I’ve met and you won’t regret a visit to their establishment :)

Wow! My partner and I absolutely loved this place. We stopped over at the end of a visit to the waterfall at Home Farm and had dinner around 6 pm. The eating area was spotless and well-furnished. Mama Sandra was there with her family. They were attentive from the beginning and Rachel, our server, was very helpful. We were down to our last 7.5 mil colones so although Mama Sandra has a well-stocked beer fridge, small bar, and an ice cream deep freeze, we were unable to order more than dinner. Wow! The food was fantastic! We got the Arroz con Pollo and Hamburger with fries. It was more than enough food for two of us. The Areoz con polllo was a Tico-styled fried rice with a fresh, delicious side salad and the best friend plantains we’ve had all trip! The hamburger and fries were so good! Oh and but the way - the view from the eating areas was beautiful!!! I highly recommend this place - it was the perfect place for a meal today.

We saw this restaurant on the rocky road down to the Nauyaca waterfalls and said we would give it a try on the way back. The vibe of this simple restaurant is really realaxing and the food was super delicious

After a visit to Nauyaca Falls, we needed food (that is a steep walk down to and back up from the falls!). This 3 table soda was supposed to just be a snack, but turned into a gorging! The empanadas are so different and delicious. The nachos were out of this world. The atmosphere is so chill. Highly recommend.

The most unsuspecting little place, but an ABSOLUTE MUST on your Costa Rican food tour. We went to the Nauyaca waterfall, and stopped in at this little place on the way home out of convenience, but what a pleasant surprise! First, the service was superb. The waiter was jovial, knowledgeable, and provided incredible recommendations. Second, the drinks were scrumptious- I would recommend the el diamanté cocktail. Finally, the food. We were a party of ten with four extremely picky children. We all ordered different dishes while the children split a shrimp pizza. Each of us were blow away by the rich and flavourful dishes we were presented, and one of the shyest and pickiest of the children made it a point to tell the waiter that it was the best pizza he’s ever had. My husband, who has eaten at Michelin star restaurants said that it is the best meal he’s ever had. This restaurant is family owned, and the chef was Mama Sandra, the mother of waiter. You could tell that each dish was made with love and care. It was truly our pleasure to eat at this hidden gem!!

Bonus: from this germaphobe- the bathrooms were impeccably clean!

A few miles down a dirt road, a little rough but easily done in a car. It would be easy to miss if you didn’t know it was there. Joel owns and operates the restaurant with his wife and mother. Joel speaks great English and was very friendly. We were impressed by our meals. I would recommend calling Joel ahead of time (phone numbers in picture) and asking about one of his private waterfall tours.

We have eaten at dozens of sodas/restaurants and this might be the best so far. Waiter (Noel) and staff were great. Food was delicious. We had the ribs, pizzaburger, tacos, empeñadas, and a quesadilla.
In short, this place is worth the drive.

We went to Mama Sandra's after visiting the Nauyaca Waterfalls and we are so glad we did! The owner was so fun to talk with and the food was delicious! Many options to choose from, including vegetarian dishes.
Perfectly willing to substitute or adjust based on your needs/likes.
Margaritas were also amazing! Views from our outdoor table were beautiful.

Went here for lunch, ordered the quesadilla, pizza burger, and empanada. Portions were huge! Food was amazing! Staff was super nice! We will definitely be returning!

Great little local kitchen. Homemade empanadas. The nachos were refreshing and delicious.

Visiting from the US and I can't get enough of these empanadas! Best I've ever had! Noel also speaks great English.

This is the freshest, most delicious food we’ve had in years. The owners are kind, attentive, warm, and gracious. We had grilled fresh garlic shrimp, an amazing salad, rice, and plantain chips with shredded chicken. The cafe seating is outside; adorable and comfortable. Run! Do not walk to this fantastic family restaurant. Amazing 100 stars!!

What a great little spot! Especially for a couple of hungry Canadians wandering around Costa Rica.

Excellent restaurant with very reasonable prices featuring a diverse menu, seasoning, and usage of fresh herbs that go beyond the usual comida typica.

Visited for the first time today. Our lunches were delicious! Wonderfully flavorful, fresh and beautifully prepared. I am allergic to onion and gluten free; Noel took great care to help me customize the perfect meal. We had chicken, fish and vegetarian meals. All perfect. Thank you! We'll be back!

Very nice food, personally I’m a fan of the burgers, but the pizzas also look delicious :) the wee kitten called max is gorgeous as well !
