Laguna de Fraijanes Recreational Park

Absolutely beautiful, peaceful, well kept location. 1000 colones parking and 1000 colones entrance fee per person. 48 hectares to walk and hike. Clean bathrooms and free use of picnic huts with barbecues. I highly recommend this place. Avoid weekends if possible.

It was a really cool experience to walk around in such a cold and calm place. 10/10

What a great and magic place. Highly recommend cause you can feel in every deep breath peace, calm and relaxing. Great for share with friends or family because has open areas where you can play with them, picnic tables which is great because you can bring your own food or snacks. There's a good and safe parking lot by the way.. no restaurant but right across the street is a grocery store if don't minded. Alcohol drinks are not allowed !
Come visit! You can do hiking all through the forest and rent a pretty house facing to the beautiful lake !

A wonderful place to hang out with your family and friends

My friends invited me and my parents to visit this Recreational Park a couple of days ago. It was not within our itinerary but we gave it a shot. My parents did not have to pay the fee since they are golden citizens, anyhow the fee is less than $2. The area is surrounded by nature, there are cabins in the middle of the forest, and several small "ranchos" where people can bring their own food and grill as well. There is a small lake right in the middle of the Park . If you pay attention, you will see several small turtles resting on top of branches by the lake. Fishing is allowed which is a plus.

Right now they are building new and more modern areas near by the parking lot. They also have playgrounds for kids. If you want to escape from the everyday stress, don't think twice, this is the perfect place to go.

Hermoso, muchos senderos y lugares para hacer BBQ, los baños están en buen estado y hay buen espacio para parqueo e incluso se reservan cabinas! Se pueden llevar mascotas... / beautiful place, pet friendly and with lots of places for BBQ... Lots of mountain trails for walking and the like is full of ducks and others types of birds and some fish.. There's a big parking lot and you can even rent a cabin and spend the night there.. Highly recommend

Great place to relax. Pets Allowed!

Love this park!! Lots of picnic tables, playground equipment, and other things to do like feeding ducks and going on paddle boats. We will definitely be back! Cost was approx. $7US for our family of 4.

Worth a stop here on the way to or from Poas. It's a nice walk or place to relax. There's a good restaurant as well.

Beautiful views, relaxing day and very accommodating for family and pets

The place is quite great for relaxation, although on Saturdays and Sundays it gets crowed since it quite visited over the weekend. The place is cold, but it can get more than cold if it rains. There are locations to do barbecue and also do some hiking. My major surprise was to know that it is possible to rent a place to stay, they are quite affordable. Overall a good and cheap experience be aware that it can get cold

Nice weather, parking space for around 40 cars. Huts with picnic table and grill. Beautiful green areas and paths. Public bathrooms within the place, soccer and basketball playing areas. A large lagoon with ducks. Paying the entrance is really worthy.

1000 colones per adult to enter and 1000 colones per vehicle for parking. Fishing and pets allowed. No bikes. Gorgeous place for picnicking and birthday parties (pavilions, benches, bathrooms, etc.). Several playground areas for the kids.

Clean and beautiful good parking space and pass is cheap

Great park and forest to spend a sunny day to BBQ in a 'rancho' near a small lagoon. You can walk around the forest and a trail that goes around the lagoon. Chill weather even when sunny. Games for kids and other sports available.

This is a natural small lagoon park near by the City of Alajuela and the Poas Volcano, they have some sports courts like Basketball and Volleyball. There are also pic-nic areas and some small BBQ areas where you can engage into cooking. The place is nice and they offer parking. A really nice place for a one day family or group trip.

Si buscan un recorrido, este no es el lugar que están buscando. Es más un lugar familiar tranquilo. :)

If you're looking for some hiking, this is not the place that you're looking for. It's more like a familiar calm spot. :)

Pet friendly, short trails made mostly out of cement. Perfect for a short recreational walk.

A very nice park. It's a great place for a picnic. There are some nice trails to explore and is a good place to watch birds.
