Xandari Resort And Spa

We had an amazing getaway! The resort lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. We spent afternoons at the heated infinity pool and loved our trip to the spa. The food in the restaurant was some of the best we have had - servings were huge so we ended up sharing a meal after the first visit so we had room for drinks and dessert. The hike around the property to see the waterfalls was worth it and having saw the reviews about the airplane noise i would say you do hear it some but not all the time and didn't impact our enjoyment. Would definitely recommend and plan to visit again!

10/10 for the price this is 8.5/10 on the luxury scale. This place is absolutely beautiful and straight out of a commercial. The views are breathtaking. The facilities are well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful always wearing a smile. This place is huge with much to do besides massages and facials. Hiking trails to beautiful waterfalls, swimming pools, lakes.... it's one of kind. Don't hesitate to visit this place you won't regret it

This is a must visit location. Only about twenty minutes from the airport depending on inner city traffic. The spa is hands down my favorite part. Not to mention an epic view from the villas and restaurant as well. The staff is perfection, friendly warm and accommodating. Don’t second guess this place. Oh there are seven waterfalls, tons of hiking trails, three pools and a hot tub not to mention incredible botanical garden.

We visited Xandari Resort for a couples vacation trip, and the stay was a wonderful experience. The villa was clean and well kept. We enjoyed delicious breakfast and dinners at the resort restaurant. We enjoyed a day exploring all the beautiful nature of waterfalls, rivers, hiking, and rainforests that the resort has to offer. Another thing that was absolutely amazing was an afternoon at the spa with the view of the mountains scenery. Customer service on site did an excellent job helping us with our tours and accommodations with transportation. Transportation services were provided by Mr. Luis Madrigal and another one of his drivers Mr. Willie, who both made us feel safe and comfortable. They both provided us with details about Costa Rica and its history. We would definitely want to return back to this resort again.

10/10 this place was incredible. If you need to spend a night near the airport in San Jose, stay here. We only did a day pass and got massages, an incredible lunch, and access to their trails/pools from 9a-4p for $113. The staff was attentive and friendly, the food was out of this world, and the massage was exactly what we needed after a week of exploring. The trails are challenging, we loved the experience but if you have any accessibility concerns, they may not be for you. (Steep stairs and slippy slopes)
It was so quiet and peaceful, at times it felt like we had a private resort experience. There were some families present but it never got rowdy, our child free group thoroughly enjoyed the space without disruption.

Overall, this place was the perfect way to spend our last day in Costa Rica before catching a late plane. (30 min from the airport)

Perfect location near the airport, we really enjoyed our time at this very special hotel :-) everything is very colorful, many beautiful plants and flowers and the dinner in the restaurant was amazing with a great view over the city!

Off the beaten path for sure. It was absolutely beautifully breathtaking. The staff was extremely kind and friendly. The views were amazing. It's the perfect way to end your Costa Rica trip. The spa...just go. It is so serene and the therapists are heaven sent. The food was all super fresh because the herbs and vegetables are grown on site. The restaurant staff was so accommodating. Make sure to book your seats for the restaurant because there is limited seating each hour. Prepare yourself to eat dinner at the property each night because there isn't much within 20 minutes to eat. Be sure to get a tour guide or set something up through the resort because the location is remote and in the mountains. The villas are spacious (Villa 20 is where I stayed) and have gorgeous views. Make sure to bring some bug spray. You're surrounded by trees and moisture. I would suggest bringing a personal mosquito net for the bed and door. There is no a/c but it is not a problem because you're in the mountains and the temperatures stay perfect. The pools and jacuzzis on the property that are called heated are heated by the sun only.

March 2023 - I just returned home from my stay at Xandari for my birthday vacation. The villa we stayed in was very spacious and the design of the space showed a lot of culture. The cleaning staff was on point daily and extremely considerate of the things we left laying around the villa when we left the space. The staff at reception, dining and the spa were all very friendly and extremely helpful. They did all they could to accommodate anything we would ask for. The resort grounds were breathtaking and although the hikes were a little challenging it was a lot of fun having the experience and taking in the views of the waterfalls. The food was very good and fresh as well. I highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful vacation, children are welcome too. And if you book a massage ask for Irene or Deymi, these ladies were awesome with their hands.

We love this place. Very calm vibe. Ambiance is outstanding. Great wifi for remote work. Excellent food and service.

Our own bit of paradise
Our room was absolutely incredible! Well appointed and beautifully decorated in art gorgeous furniture and bright colors. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the sitting area. Each room was a standalone bungalow with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the valley and its own
private terrace. Amazing. Sitting on the lounge chairs of our terrace looking out over the valley sipping delicious Costa Rican coffee is one of my all-time best memories of Costa Rica. Bathroom was very spacious--the shower was huge!

Cute place. Lots of really cool plants to see just walking around. Great infinity pool with an amazing view of the valley. You can get a day pass here that will get you all access to the resort, delicious lunch, and a 1 hour massage. Highly recommend checking this place out.

This was one of the most amazing experiences of our entire lives. Staff was phenomenal 👏 Rooms were gorgeous. Landscape amazing. Just far enough out of the city. 5 waterfalls on the property...I can't say enough good things!

Ok, first Mario on the wait staff should be given a raise and a promotion he was delightful and extremely insightful, he knew we wanted another drink before we did or that it would be the perfect time to ask if we needed anything! The lobby staff were friendly, and went out of their way to make this the perfect stay for us! Everyone we encountered was kind, understanding and considerate, in short, god-tier service. I will DEFINITELY be trying to plan a return trip!

Stayed here on our last night in Costa Rica. What a great place; the grounds, architecture, art make it so different to every other hotel. We had dinner and breakfast; both meals were excellent quality. The staff are wonderful, and we were allowed to stay by the pool after check out (a very generous midday anyway) until we had to go to the airport. Made our last night truly memorable - many thanks!!

I made the mistake of only staying one night ,.. could have spent more time here and wish I had, the staff, location were great as was the food. I enjoyed the trails and seeing all the different waterfalls. Will definitely be back here!

Stunning architecture, gardens, grounds, trails, views... close to the airport, has a spa, pools, comes with a delicious breakfast and is reasonable in cost!

It was my first time in Costa Rica. Best choice hotel for naturalism, quietness and hiking adventure from the beautiful nature views to the animals, rainfalls and river. It's nearby location to the Volcano Poas and La Paz Waterfall and many other things to do. It was an unforgettable trip. Definitely stayed wanting more. The staff Erica and Evelyn at the restuarant very attentive. Guillermo who helped guide us to the waterfalls. Everyone very pleasant and welcoming. And after all the activities of course the Spa , relaxing, the staff at wellness very courteous and sweet."PURE LIFE"

June 18/19-2023We are in love of this place ! The architecture is amazing. The SPA was very relaxing Irene and María Jesús did it so good ! The cataratas hiking was very excited 😊 definitely people here made so special .. we will come back with some friends and family !!!

The rooms are some of the biggest of places we've stayed all over Costa rica, and were embedded against some fairly Rich foliage that help buffer some noise from the main road down a very long front driveway. The food was amazing mostly Italian style which was interesting. A great location fairly close to the airport. We will consider going back next time and staying for a couple days on the front end of a trip, to take advantage of massages and all that the spa had to offer. It was also great that they had a hot tub which help us relax at the end of a long day traveling by car.
