Hotel Poco a Poco

Our stay at Poco a Poco was lovely. The staff was attentive and welcoming, the room was comfortable, and they came to clean it every day while we were there. We ate breakfast there each morning and the variety was good; all the meals were tasty. We found many restaurants nearby, and while we did not rent a car, getting a taxi or shuttle to various locations was easy. We would definitely recommend Poco a Poco to anyone visiting Monteverde!

We loved our stay here! They have a heated pool and hot tub which were fantastic! Also the grounds are just lovely. We went out birdwatching just after sunrise each morning and saw many cool birds including toucans just around the grounds. The location is perfect - very walkable to restaurants and a grocery store right across the street.
The hotel is 4 floors and no elevators, so keep that in mind if you have limited mobility. Breakfast is included - you have a choice from a limited menu as well as some fruit and coffee/juice. The food was good but not super filling after coming from a resort with a giant buffet. We did have dinner there one night and it was very good. I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Really lovely service from a great hotel in Monteverde. Reception were great, lilly on check in was lovely. Hotel is really nicely looked after, rooms are clean and the pool area is nice. Food in the restaurant is delicious. 5 minute walk to downtown.

Stayed here with my wife and we had a great time. The location is perfect - right next to a plaza with a supermarket and restaurants and a very short walk to the center part of town. The hotel grounds were, and I can’t emphasize this enough, stunning. The pool and hot tub are covered so rain doesn’t keep you in the room. The garden walk is very pretty where they have fresh herbs and a nice path. The views are incredible. The front desk staff were super nice, I didn’t catch their names but the guy who greeted us was extremely welcoming. The room had an AC unit. The bed was very comfortable. The shower had some super nice shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Probably going to buy some online it was that good. The only thing that was a little unfortunate was not having a mini fridge in the room but honestly with so many positives this didn’t even matter that much. I would highly highly recommend this hotel and I will absolutely stay here again if I’m in Monteverde again.

Beautiful rooms, beautiful scenery and views. I don’t think I’ve stayed in a more stunning hotel.
Dinner options were limited but lunch and breakfast were really good.
Amazing spa services and the hotel is so luscious and green.

Was visiting friends staying here, so did not use the hotel much but the grounds were fabulous. Well maintained. Pool area looked great.

My family and I absolutely loved this hotel!! The location is great, the rooms are nicely done, and the amenities are superb. The staff was great with my kids and were genuine. The pool is heated and smells of flowers due to the plant life around it. Breakfast was probably the best we had on our entire vacation. The hotel is laid out in an interesting way where there are a lot of little areas versus a large square hotel which makes it feel much more intimate. We will stay here again next time we come to Costa Rica.

This hotel is very nice. The rooms are average. We had a king bed with the standard furniture (no closet per se) with a nice bathroom & and a large walk-in shower. The grounds are not huge but do include a covered pool & separate jacuzzi area. There is a nice walking trail through the herb gardens up to the street that we saw a lot of wildlife on. Pedro is awesome if there are any language barrier issues & getting you want you desire. We were in a room over the lobby & heard a lot of road traffic until 8 or 9 pm when it died out completely. Good location. Very walkable.

I stayed here for one night when our Airbnb became overrun with bugs! The hotel was nice and had an amazing breakfast! Unfortunately, my room had a ton of tiny ants in it! They invaded my coffee which was a total bummer. The spa was great and the people working there were so friendly! I would definitely stay here again.

A clean cozy hotel within walking distance to DT Monteverde. The standard rooms don't come with AC or a fridge, if that's important to you make sure you upgrade your room. Overall this place was great.

This hotel is really wonderful. The location is private but also close to everything in town. The grounds are beautiful with a private walking trail where we saw wildlife. The pool is heated and covered- it was a great place to hang out while it was colder and raining. The staff was amazing, particularly Guillermo!

We had a wonderful stay at Poco a Poco in December, 2022!
Everyone at the Hotel was helpful during our stay! Lilly and Fiorella at the front desk were friendly and helped us many times, patiently answering our questions and giving us good information. Pedro at the bar created some amazing cocktails as we relaxed in the evenings. The restaurant was great! They even allowed us to pre-order a breakfast for an early departure the following morning.
The grounds were well maintained like a beautiful garden. We were able to photograph colorful birds and enjoyed watching the sunset from the property.
I highly recommend Poco a Poco...We will be back!

Loved this hotel!! The moment we walked in we were given yummy ginger lemon water. The rooms were nice and cleaned everyday. Good drinks, and the pools are heated and covered which was great during rainy season. They have a spot where you can read, do yoga, or just take in the view. AMAZING breakfast! And walking distance to more restaurants and shopping. And there are bathrooms all over the hotel which were well kept (I’m a girl who appreciates an accessible bathroom). We loved it!!

Fantastic hotel in a great location within walking distance to most places in Monteverde. The staff are professional, polite, and kind. There's a nice small trail in the back too, apparently you can spot sloths there sometimes. Their breakfast was one of the best I had in Costa Rica. Just make sure you book a better room with an AC because some units don't and it can get hot. The rooms are very clean.

The staff at the front desk was exceptional. Upon my arrival I had concern about my night time jungle walk activity that I reserved but I wasn't sure where to meet. The lady (sorry, I forgot your name) at the front desk called around and found out which tour company I booked with and made arrangement for them to pick me up at the hotel. All the staff were courteous and had big smile.

The room A/C didn't have heater option. When I went Monteverde it was mid December yet the night was cold. I called the front desk and they brought in portable heater which helped a lot.

Place has Ac rooms, but you need to request it and pay additional. The service is amazing, it has a couple of pools and a jacuzzi open till 9:00 pm.
On Saturday the restaurant has live music. Use mosquitoes repellant always.They have great amenities.

Wonderful hotel with true hospitality. We loved this hotel and only wished we had more time to stay there! It was a good value and I recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica.

Had a fantastic stay at Poco a Poco. Staff were very helpful, the grounds and landscaping was amazing, the food was really good. Restaurant was nice. I would definitely stay here again, the price was great for what you get. Rooms were nice. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, maybe time for new beds. But small price to pay.
