Spectacolar Cantina

Spectacolar Cantina was our favorite restaurant in Fortuna to grab some drinks and food. Tacos were great and the cocktails were even better. If you like spicy drinks I'd recommend the margarita Vilma.

They also host karaoke so if that's your thing ask them about that.

We ordered vegetarian tacos and quesadilla. Food was so delicious and fresh. Eric was a great server and gave us all the information before we ordered. Fast service, amazing side sauces and we really enjoyed. Prices are very reasonable.

Staff was incredible.
We got 2 plates of street tacos, and a nacho plate. SO GOOD!!

Went back the next day for their Monday Margarita special

The food and drinks are tasty! They have live music on some night and the atmosphere is great, really fun! The best part is the staff. Super friendly and provided excellent service. I visited here 3 out of 4 of my nights just for them 🤣

I didn't try their titular tacos, but oh my god the pork al pastor burrito might just be the very best one I've ever had in my life! Great vibe, great drinks, and cool waiters like Gabriel make this one of the hottest places to go in La Fortuna!

Food might take a little bit to come out, but it is so worth it! If you are into spicy salsa, order the extreme salsa and get your sweat on!

I absolutely love this place! josué was THE best server i’ve had. so friendly and funny and helpful. he remembered our names when we came back the next day. And Osman was wonderful and very pleasant. he made us very very good drinks. the music was fun and everything was great! 10/10 reccomend trying this place!!!

Great spot for tacos and drinks. I ordered tacos Al pastor and it was tasty as well as their spectacolar michelada. Our service was great as well. They also have live music after 8:00pm.

Loved the food and atmosphere! The drinks are soooo good! The staff was so fun and friendly! We will be back!

Had a 'Spectacolar' time! There was a DJ, there was karaoke, and there were many beers. Us Canadians temporarily took over the place with our less than mediocre singing which, surprisingly, drew in a ton of people! My Amigos Osman, Errick, and Tequila Man, took great care of us and made sure we were never empty handed!

All in all, we had a blast last night! We will always be DTF (Down To Fiesta) in the future!

Looking for the top tacos in La Fortuna? Check out Spectacolar in La Fortuna! The elote was decked with sauce & spices…I ordered two! The salsa was fresh and so were the ingredients on the tacos. The beverages are cold and hit the spot after a long day of touring and exploring. The environment is so spacious! Try the shawarma if you have the time and hankering for it.

Delicious. My husband and I went on taco Tuesday, we didn’t even realize it was taco Tuesday, but they have a discount on the tacos. I ordered one Al pastor, one fish, and one carne asada. My husband got one Al pastor, one chorizo, and one carne asada. We agreed that both our favorites were Al pastor. They also have different sauces you can choose from for your order. I also ordered the fish ceviche which was alright, but I prefer shrimp ceviche. The natural juices were also delicious and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend this place. We are planning on going back

A little slice of Mexico in Costa Rica. Really good tacos with amazing corn tortillas, tasty papas, and oh! The drinks! Go. (We have no photos of the food because we ate it all and were too busy enjoying it). Muy delicioso, muy rico.

Busy spot & you'll get why
Good food. Good drink. Great hosts. Slightly more expensive than some of the other similar places but the standard felt worth it. We had some great food here, the live music was different and the bar itself is just pretty cool. Would say it's worth a try and you might go back!

Love this place. Great selection of tacos - we had a share board where we got a try different tacos. There was so much choice especially when it came to margaritas. you can see why it always gets busy! The fried cheese is a MUST

Best Margarita in La Fortuna! Was able to stop in twice for their passion fruit jalapeño margarita. We were most taken back by the art work. Very beautiful Mexican themed restaurant. We are headed to Monteverde and look forward to visiting there too. Cesar the manager was very nice as well as the bartender on the second floor who was playing the best Spanish music for dancing. I did not eat a meal but definitely will try the Monteverde one. Had the churros and those were excellent.

The burrito was very good, fresh and delicious. Rice pudding came out warm good. Service was excellent servers were very excited giving out drinks and had a lot of energy. Very good experience we had a good time.

Really great spot to visit. The spicy margaritas were on another level, the birria tacos were unbelievable. The staff were amazingly helpful in explaining the menus and the feel of the open air bar downstairs and the surroundings were just what were were looking for. I would highly recommend making a point of stopping in for a meal or two if you're staying anywhere near the area

We took the cocktail class here and enjoyed the experience a great deal. Not only were the cocktails fabulous, the food was worth coming for by itself! The amazing staff was just the cherry on top. We will make this a regular stop when visiting La Fortuna.

Amazing place in La Fortuna. We went on a Monday night and margaritas were 2 for 1, and the music was loud and fun, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Seemed to cater to a very millennial demographic in terms of who was there, and the era of the music they were playing. It was great! Food was good, vegetarian options were good, and the cocktails were amazing. Especially the Margarita Italiano which has amaretto in it. The place closes at 11pm so even though the music was loud and people were dancing when we left, it’s not a place you can stay all night. As two women alone we also had quite a lot of drunken attention from local men, but felt relatively safe. The bar called a taxi for us when we wanted to go home, and made sure we were safely in it.
