A great experience! We didn’t took a guide, but did see all lot of animals (the guides with groups looking at the animals helped a lot spot the animals).

A sloth with her 17 days old baby being active was an amazing experience. Also saw a snake, eguana’s, a frog and many birds.

They got a nice place where they put some fruits into the trees so you can see many birds enjoying the food.

Didn’t felt like a zoo for me at all, but more like a small park.

Did the twilight tour with Jason & William. Amazing experience, so much to see. Plenty of sloths, active, sleeping with babies. Close interaction with frogs and a Beautiful owl. Both gents really do their best for a good vibe in the group, paying attention to everyone’s safety and questions and making sure everyone has got pictures/ videos.

Would definitely recommend, one of the coolest parks we visited in Costa Rica.

There are also a huge amount of birds in the front garden.

Bonus: with your entry bracelet you can re enter the next day.

We took a guided tour of 4 adults with guide Alex. It was very informative.

If you take this tour make sure you get a guide because the sloths are there but you need to know where to find them. The guide has a scope and will help identify the animals for you.

We also saw frogs and a couple of owls.
After the tour there is complimentary fruit plate to enjoy.

Also, we were told that we can return to enjoy the trail again if we show our bracelets .

This tour is recommended

This tour exceeded our expectations in every way. We saw so many sloths, including a couple moms with babies. Our guide was really good with the spotting scope and took many pictures for us through it. He let us spend as much as we wanted to watch the sloths through the scope. The walk was easy and the grounds are beautiful. We also got to see frogs, toucans, bats, an owl, leaf cutter ants, and an orb weaver spider. Highly recommend this experience.

As touristy as this place is, its also pretty cool! We just guided ourselves around the trails but saw 2 sloths and 30ish species of bird! There were plenty of guides around who helped point out two roosting Black-and-white Owls. We also had a great time sitting drinking coffee next to the feeders which attracted all sorts of tanagers, finches, and parakeets!

This is the perfect trail for someone who wants to see sloths and birds. Easy flat trail, so great for little ones or people with mobility issues. The feeders at the start of the trail guarantee you’ll see more birds in one place here, than anywhere else. A bit of a cheater’s birding, but also a fabulous way to watch the birds for a longer period and watch them interact. After trekking through more arduous trails and reserves, this was a lovely spot to end our stay.

This was our best experience in Costa Rica yet! Our tour guide, William, was exceptional and had so much knowledge of the animals and the flora. We never would have seen any of the things he showed us if we did the self guided tour. I know it seems pricey, but it was the best $100 we’ve spent in Costa Rica so far. We highly recommend getting a guided tour. We were so happy to see all the beautiful animals and it was an amazing experience! It’s best to buy the tour directly from the bogarin trail company.

Our guide William was the best!! We saw four different sloths and he helped us take incredible videos and photo. We bought tickets for a guided tour the day before, and they still had availability. This was one of our favorite adventures during our 8 days in Costa Rica. Entrance costs allow you to visit the park two days in a row, so keep that in mind when visiting.

We did the guided tour and it was amazing. Got to see frogs, bats, owls, sloths and more!
Asiel was an awesome guide and super knowledgeable. We opted for the day tour around 3pm and were able to see a lot so it was well worth it.

Highly recommend going to this sanctuary and having William as a tour guide! He is a walking telescope and encyclopedia. William showed us so many sloths and even let us come back a few hours after our original tour because of the rain. He is truly so wonderful and makes sure to show you everything while you are there. I would definitely recommend doing the guided tour as you get to see so many sloths and the guides bring telescopes so you can see the sloths clearly and get amazing pictures! We would not have seen all that we did if we had been on our own! So so worth it! Definitely recommend!

Unbelievable. Favourite part of our time in La Fortuna! Incredible wildlife, genuinely good sustainability and desire to look after and protect nature and wildlife. Our guide was the best, the pictures like something out of National Geographic!

Great trail, went here twice without a guide and saw many different birds insects and animals. Unfortunately both times no sloths spotted but they are known to be difficult sometimes for untrained eyes. Great 2-2.5km trail, spent about 2 hours the first time and 1.5 the second time.

One of the best parts of our trip. Absolutely worth doing the guided tour. The guides are incredibly knowledgeable and brought a spotting scope to see animals up close. We saw so many different types of animals, birds, and insects.

Lots of guided tours that you can latch onto when doing self guided. It’s fairly obvious where the sloths are when there is a large group of people on the trail. If you’re lucky, you can see one closer to eye level, but most are high up in the trees and require binoculars.

The night tour with William was an amazing experience! He and his fellow guides helped us appreciate all that this area has to offer! I highly recommend the Bogarin Trail night tour, no matter what the weather is! WOWSERS ❤

I had an amazing experience at the nature preserve during a guided tour with my family.

Our guide, Már, added an extra layer of excellence to the experience. She not only answered all our questions but did so delightfully. Már was not only informative but also made the tour fun, catering to our specific interests. A truly memorable and personalized nature exploration.

We encountered sloths, snakes, frogs, toucans, and a variety of vibrant flora. The preserve offers a rich and immersive exploration of nature, making it a must-visit for families and nature enthusiasts alike.

Yes, it seemed expensive at first. But it was well worth our time and money, as much as anything in the area. The tour lasted two and-a-half hours and even included lots of fresh pineapple afterward.

This was wonderful! Two hour guided tour. Saw so many things. Easy walk. Definitely would pay for the guide. We wouldn’t have been able to spot anything if it wasn’t for them. They gave us free pineapple at the end which was refreshing. Glad we did the early one before it got too hot as well.

Even though you can walk the trail in an hour we spent almost 6 hours here looking and searching for wildlife. There is so much of it! We did self guided tour. Ticket is valid for two days. Very nice experience!

Absolutely fantastic. It is definitely worth it to get a guide. The way Asiel spotted things for us was amazing. We saw the yellow throated toucan, 4 sloths, a black and white owl, many Blue Jean frogs, several Basilisk lizards, a pit viper, lesser sac bats and anoli lizards. As a bonus there were just 6 in our group and the guide will take photos and videos on your camera using a scope. Real close ups. Many colourful birds feeding off fruit at the entry.
